  1. This is actually the correct website for that routeplanner. http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/ I'm not so sure that they should be intergrating that into their website but obviously they may have permission! Regards,Sam Crawford
  2. Try this site, http://www.pilotseye.tv/routes the videos are just fantastic. They are not in English, but have English subtitles, and they are absolutely stunning, especially in blue ray. Heres a preview from youtube, and there are others on there as well. Sam Crawford
  3. I love the "whoosh" sound of the engines being spooled up a little from idle. But I doubt it can be heard that well in the cockpit. I'm sure PMDG will want the sounds to be heard as if you were in the cockpit!Sam.
  4. Not overkill at all Stephen, this is what BA does everyday! (As long as the cabin crew are happy...)Sam.
  5. Hi guys/gals, got a bit of a problem with 4.3. When I reach the runway and theres an aircraft on the runway waiting, and one ready at the hold short point, radar contact doesnt seem to clear the aircraft on the runway for take-off. Nothing happens, and it leaves me there waiting. Eventually I give up and refresh the AI using activesky. I have recently turned out autoreply, but everything else has stayed the same. Please note: before and during taxi, I can see aircraft taking off, so it appears to occur when I'm told to monitor tower. Many thanks and I hope some one can help.Sam.
  6. This is awesome, I want to see more episodes, I can see myself getting hooked on this!!!Sam.
  7. Same problem here too. Although can download a very select few of the files that I am trying. Some input from the site mods would be very nice...
  8. Boeing: PMDG 737, you get the 600+700, and if you buy the add-on you get the 800+900, which is highly recommended, as it updates the 600+700. www.precisionmanuals.comOk, It may have aged a little, buts theres not a lot else that I fly in MSFS! Has a very comprehensive FMC, probably the best out there! You will need to purchase the latest data for it, from navigraph.comto get the best experience. I promise it will not let you down.As for the Airbus, the best try so far is the wilco/feelthere model. However, and thats a strong however, its no way as realistic as a serious simmer would like. Examples are the current CTD issues with the FMC data, and the general experience isn't mind-blowing. Personally I'm waiting for the www.airlinerxp.com airbus. Its a stand-alone simulator that uses MSFS as the display device.I hope this helps, but please remember this is my own personal preference!Sam.EDIT: I've just stumbled accross the http://www.airsimmer.com/ airbus series currently in the making. This also looks promising so you might want to check it out.
  9. A brilliant example is from the ITVV Virgin 747 dvd, and they get switched from one ground controller, to another. In MSFS, I believe the different frequencies do operate independantly. I'm sure I've been taking off on one runway, with one controller, and seeing dozens of landing aircraft on another runway and not hearing the comms. Thus meaning they must be on a seperate frequency. I've never come accross this with the ground freq's however.
  10. Hi Chris, I'm not personally using ASX but in ASv6.5 there is an option to "disable winds aloft". Make sure this has not been checked. You definately want those jetstreams on your return leg!!Sam.
  11. Jim, i've re-checked my FS settings, all is in order. The clouds do stay the same, but look a little denser when decending through them.
  12. I was thinking maybe its the "fog layer generation". Would this cause the un-welcome clouds? I will uncheck it, and report my finds!Sam.
  13. Hi Jim, thanks for your response. I dont have any soaring add-ons at all, and yes this is a global problem. It happens with all different themes as well. Hope you can help!
  14. Hi all, I'm getting these un-realistic looking clouds when flying at high altitudes (see screenshot). FS9 is set to use detailed 3d clouds with 100% coverage, and i'm using the Blueyonder theme pack. Can anyone help?
  15. Scott, CTD's are a known problem with the wilco pub airbus series. I seem to remember something a long the lines of the downloaded nav database is not fully compatible with the bus' fmc. I gave up with my series 1 airbus because of this. Random CTD's are an annoyance, especially if you have put a lot of effort into the flight! In regards to your data being "present", i very much doubt it! The only way of getting the most current data, is as said by alex, purchasing it from Navigraph. But I cannot tell you whether this will fix your problem. Its a real shame because apart from the CTD's its the best shot at a decent airbus yet! Hope this helped, your not the only one mate!Sam.
