Help With Windows 7 flight plan and MD11 FMS

Featured Replies

I just installed FSX on my new Windows 7 (64 bit). Using the built in FSX flight planner I build and save a new flight plan. Example, KSFO-KLAX.pln Now the MD11 FMS returns a message stating "Not in data Base" when I try to enter KSFOKLAX into the CO ROUTE field. Could this have anything to do with where Windows 7 is storing the flight plan, vs where MD11 is looking for the plan? What do I have to do to fix this? Thanks,Jim

Put a copy of it in the pmdg/flightplans folder and see if that works, also if the name is KSFO-KLAS then entering KSFOKLAS isn't going to work regardless of location. Why on earth are you using the default flight planner? It doesn't have the same navdata as the FMS uses (well, the airports and VORs will be in the same places mostly).

www.flightsimaviation.com/_flight_planner.htmlI am not sure if it is allowed to publish it here. Hope it shows. This is good enaugh for planning!Forget the FSX planner.

You need a flight planner that creates .rte plans and not the default FSX .pln type of file. For instance EHAMEGLL.pln would be an FSX flight plan and EHAMEGLL.rte would be the type you need for PMDG plans you then need to put this plan in your /PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS folder which can be found where you installed FSX.simroutes is a good place to start and there are programs out there with just a quick search you will be able to find that can help you out. Most if not all i have come across support the PMDG format.I hope this helps if not pm me and i will talk you through it np.

This is actually the correct website for that routeplanner. http://rfinder.asalink.net/free/ I'm not so sure that they should be intergrating that into their website but obviously they may have permission! Regards,Sam Crawford
