Sorry - missed this post yesterday. I see you found the answer already, hope it works for you.Phill

Never saw it bouncing in and out, but the solid screen VC in rain is known. Try the Flight1 fix (first download on the link below)...http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryPhill

>In the F18,I do not get any HUd or MFDinfo>diplayed. Its like the avionics afre turned off.Just had a thought. To see if avionics are turned off, after loading the F-18, load the default 737-800 and check the glass displays there. That would confirm the avionics status (or at least give you a clue) one way or the other. Then load the F-18 again to see what happens.Phill

At least one person had simmconnect problems getting both TrackIR and the Acceleration F-18 working. Could be something like that. Have you seen this thread? Look for the post by "Penzoil3" name of Sue.http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php...msg2266#msg2266Flew the F-18 last night with no problems (but I don't have TrackIR).Phill

The file is located here...C:Documents and SettingsPhill RoathMy DocumentsFlight Simulator X FilesLogbook.BINAnd the ability to fix it is here...http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...thor=&CatID=fsxEven if you delete it, it comes back and can cause problems. IIRC the Maule has a problem. The model has nav lights included in the model itself and they are linked to the landing lights. So, yes, you get all lights with landing lights. However, the aircraft.cfg file also includes nav lights that are controlled via the cockpit switches so you can control them that way as long as the landing lights are off.I know that may be confusing, but there is no work around.Phill

Adobe air what will it do to our FS air files...
phillroath replied to a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
>>Why would I ever need to click on an .air file? It's not like>an icon or an .exe file.>For those of us who use AirEd to edit air files I usually click on an air file to open it. Most folks don't, but some do. YMMVPhill :-hah -
That's correct.Phill

On approach to land, select A/B 1, 2, 3, or MAX. When you touchdown on the runway the brakes will apply and remain active until the acft comes to a complete stop (I think you can also just turn the knob to A/B 0 while still moving to remove brakes). On takeoff, select A/B RTO which stands for Rejected Take Off. In this scenario, when you reach a certain speed (80 KIAS?) and then you reduce throttles to zero, the brakes are automatically applied and perform as above.Phill

The FL stands for Flight Level and is measured in hundreds of feet. So FL240 = 24,000 ft. In the US, FL is used beginning at FL180 (and the barometric pressure is set to 29.92 inches). Below that you use the full altitude numbers. This should all be covered in the FSX Learning Center.Phill

There were earlier posts where certain CD/DVD writers were causing this very symptom. Can't be more specific than that, but perhaps a search of FSX posts along those lines might help.Phill

Notice to developers: no 2D cockpit - no sale to me...
phillroath replied to a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
I have made additional camera views (mostly via the copy and modify methodology) to get just what I want but I still have at least one pop-up in all my aircraft, Shift-3 for the FSX GPS gauge.I see you need to move to a second monitor and that's where the problems come in, I suppose. I don't use a second monitor and have no guess how that can be done.Phill -

Here's a link to a forum thread that talks about this. There are section in camera.cfg files and aircraft.cfg files.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...75818&mode=fullPhill -

There are shortcut 3D views in VC (or at least available). They are called camera views and for example in the default Maule you can get a view of just the radios or of the switches or of the fuel handle (although in the maule the 3D fuel handle does not work properly). Most 3D pits come with multiple camera views (just press the A key to cycle through them, or right click and choose the exact view wanted). I always add HIDDEN_FROM_CYCLE or what ever that line is so I only get the views I want with the A key. With a lot of acft, one view is the FO position. You can also with camera views turn off head latency for each view (I have it turned off completely). I never use the 2D views anymore and they are no longer in my "S" button cycle.YMMV,Phill -
The folks who actually did the VC for the Acceleration F-18 has a website with tutorials. Click the link below.http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?board=4.0Oh, and make sure your acft realism is NOT off, it needs to be at least mid range or the braking action will groundloop. Enjoy,Phill

..::Blurred VC textures and distorted menu text::..
phillroath replied to a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
There is a quick thing to try. Go to: Settings - Customize - GraphicsOn that panel move the Global Texture Resolution slider to Very High. This has solved blurry VC for lots of folks. If it don't work for you, no harm done in the attempt.Phill -
>LOL I have no clue...I just click it and it opens.....>I'd bet those who can't open that file are using Firefox as a browser. IE7 shows it just fine. However, it should be shown as a jpg to ensure all browsers can view it.Phill

Is there a way to light the instrument panel in Cockpit View F9?
phillroath replied to n4gix's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Is this what you're looking for? I have a workaround when the SP2 changed the night lighting and it commented out the VC Panel lights in all the default aircraft.cfg files. Take a look here...http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ode=full#441789Phill -

always turn on axis indicator & park. brake?
phillroath replied to lensman's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
I have my parking brake set when I start. Load your default flight, set the conditions you want (e.g. - Parking Brake on, ATC Window size and position, etc...) then save it making sure the "Default" box is checked.Have not tried it with visual axis indicator, but I suspect it will work. It's quick and easy to try.Phill -
Just a thought, it's possible you have a registry problem. If so then Flight1 has a utility for that. Go to the following page and it's the fourth download on that page. Might help.http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryPhill

I adjust the size and position of the ATC window in my default flight and it always comes back to that size. Seems to work just fine for me.Phill
