Hi All I think i know the answer to my question but will ask just to confirm anyway. I own the NGX on CD published by Aerosoft purchased through Amazon back in 2012. I have used the box serial to obtain updates over the years but suddenly the serial i have flags up as incorrect on the Aerosoft support page. I have been told by Tom Weigandt at Aerosoft support that i have to contact PMDG directly to address the incorrect serial number. I do not believe this is correct. Can you please clarify who should give me support in this instance? Kind regards Paul Dulson

Or do as I have been doing lately which is plan the flight, preflight, FMC, GSX, taxi to active, takeoff and once in the cruise, save the panel state. Then I save the flight in FSX and close down. I then continue the flight later, or on another day when time permits. Loading it all back up is a breeze and you lose nothing. This way I never waste all of the effort put into a detailed PMDG flight. Hope that helps you. Paul Dulson

Guys I have the boxed Aerosoft version on the NGX 800/900 & the 600/700 bought direct from PMDG. With regard to installing the newest updates, which is the best course of action? Install the anticipated Aerosoft update for the 800/900, then the 600/700 installer or will the newest 600/700 exe cover the four variants? Paul

Had same prob caused by saitek settings saved in fsx. Delete saved settings and things should be good again.

Guys........thanks for your observations and advice. Spirtflyer - I tried overclocking my CPU to 4ghz but the bugger ran quite hot, around 65-70 degrees, even with my CooIT Eco, so I unclocked it to default. Firehawk44 - Thanks for the tips. I will conduct some investigation around the cfg settings. kparrish1 - Most of my testing was sitting on the runway at EGNX East Midlands with default AI at 45%. Standard good wether settings as well. I've not even bothered with custom AI as i was worried about going negative with the frame rates...!!!!

I normally don’t post much on the forum. I’m more of a watcher and searcher. But this time I feel I need some help before my next move. So, after using FS9 for the last 8 years and being very happy with it, having spent lots of money on add-ons & additional utilities, I reckoned I was ready for a dabble into FSX. Or so I thought I was. Having a decent setup (see specs) and wanting that little bit extra, I made a start on plumbing FSX into my system. All I thought I needed was a GPU upgrade so I splashed out on a Zotac GTX 570 replacing my older HD5850. I was under no impression that the GTX would grab FSX by the neck and make it into the sim I was looking for. Long story short…it hasn’t. Now my problem is this. With the old card in FS9 with all the add-ons running, add-on airports, a PMDG 747/MD11 or Ifly 737, with lots of nasty weather, I would be getting 40-59 frames (locked at 60). TrackIR lovely and smooth and very immersive. With the new GTX in FSX in a leveld 767 sitting at a default airport I’m getting 16fps….disappointed? You could say that.Being a frustrated airline pilot I need my sim to be immersive. I need to fool myself I am an airline pilot flying to some sun kissed island surrounded by drop dead gorgeous flight attendants. 16 frames per second does not do this. It just gives me a headache. I have replaced the FSX cfg with one from ******* and I am using an external frame limiter. FSX is on my “fast” drive. All my CPU’s are un-parked. In game FSX settings are at default. Is this what one expects from FSX in terms of performance? Hi BryanJust to let you know I solved my issue by retreiving a backup and replacing the dcrew0 gauge. I don't know what happened to make the gauge corrupt, but after two days of trial and error it was the last possible cause. Thanks for your help.Paul

Hi BryanThanks for your reply. I have checked UAC and it's off (turned it off a long time ago!). I have reset the start center then re-assigned 5&6 and the CFG now shows;gauge01=fs2crew\MD11\dcrew0!dcrew0, 10,10,1,1, Gx4A Rx4E GBUTTON4 RBUTTON5 Fired up Fs9 and still not working. Checked my PMDG747 & LDS767 and both work fine with same buttons. Why just the MD11? I can't figure it out. I can assigned the buttons to other FS tasks no problem.Paul

Hi BryanI have recently lost my red & and green buttons using my Saitek Pro Flight yoke. Everything was working perfectly using the 5&6 yoke buttons then it stopped working. No changes, no new drivers installed, just lost the yoke control for these two buttons. The keyboard works fine and i can assign the 5&6 buttons to do other tasks in Fs9 so i know they are working ok, but it will not control the red & green button function anymore.Ive reset the start center with no luck. I have looked at the panel CFG and it shows the following.gauge01=fs2crew\MD11\dcrew0!dcrew0, 10,10,10,10, Gx4A Rx4E GBUTTON2 RBUTTON3 This is strange because the start center is showing default joystick buttons 3&4. I have updated the directx and yoke drivers mentioned in other posts but this has made no difference. I cannot for the life of me think what has changed and it's frustrating me.
