  1. I've had RC for about a year now but I'm still having one problem: When to act on my own. When I first take off on runway heading sometimes RC tells me what course to fly and some times NOT. Sometime I head for the 1st waypoint and RC says nothing and sometimes it say, "What are you doing?" I never know when RC is finished vectoring me to the runway. Sometimes if I dont take actions for landing on my own RC never "instructs" me again and I donn't know if I should start taking landing actions on my own or wait, wait, wait..... It's not always the same. Have I missed something from the very start? Thanks for any help in this matter. I'm not happy to ue Fs2004 ATC after RC. jerry
  2. If you BUY a aircraft and it does not have a GPS or one that you are use to, is it legal to add one for your own personal use? Can you make it available for others to use if it ( the amended panel) is offered FREE and no cost involved? jerry
  3. Before your post. I was loading a flight straight from the "LOAD" in Flight Planner and then when the desired airport came up, I switched to the Piper. What is the "bad" or undesireable event that happens if this set up is NOT done correctly?? jerry
  4. Thanks a MILLION, MILLION to "ailchim" who took the time and the effort to list all of the steps to start the Aerosoft/Digital Piper CheyennePA-31T. I can now start it !!!!!!! I looked agian at the instructions in the "manual" and no-way are they the same. I did learn that in the step where you have to turn the "generator switch to generator" , because it is a 3-way switch, I was NOT doing it correctly. It takes TWO right clicls of the mouse, not one click to put it in the correct position. I also assume that you are flying a version other than the "1(IFR)" that I was using as it does NOT have the "BLEED AIR SWITCHES". Now I can start the engines in all versions thanks to you.Just for drill, When, if ever do you use the "FLT Switch )power supply) in the overhead panel and to the other friend who advised, I'm starting the flight from the default flight at Seattle with the C-172. (I dont ever remember having to do this with other aircraft and I wonder why you have to do it with this aircraft?? Thanks again for taking the time and putting forth the effort to help me ( and maybe others) with this problem. This is my "new" favorite aircraft to fly. Thanks again..... jerry
  5. I know the feeling.... took me forever to learn to start it "by the numbers". If this is your 1st problem let me know HERE and I'll give you the steps to get it started. I'm having the same problem with the Piper Cheyenne. jerry
  6. Would some one who knows how to start the Piper PA-31T, PLEASE list all of the "keystrokes" need to start it from "cold and dark". Even with the book, I've tried and tried to do it WITHOUT sucess! A couple of times , by accident I did get the engines to start but on each time there were NO AMPS on the Amp meter and after flying for 25-30 minutes, the generator "popped" off and the flight ended. I just cann't figgure out what I'm doing wrong. If you know how to start it from cold and dark will you please make the effort and tell me how ? Thanks, jerry
  7. Thanks for the reply. That's a lot of "if" and "what" . I'll have to check them out. jerry
  8. Not sure about jets, but I start prop planes like this ( the engines start one at a time).Ctrl/Shift/F4E1M (tap once)slowly tap the +(over the equal key) and engine #1 will start to rotate then start.E2M (tap once)slowly tap + key.......repeat for more engines as need.It is really neat to see a 4 engine aircraft start like this when viewing from the outside view. Jerry
  9. I always end a flight by selecting "Exit" (bottom choice), instead of "End Flight. I then, later could select "Previous Flight" and FS2004 would tale me right back where I "ended" my flight. (on the ground or in the air, flying}. Something has changed. Now after closing a flight with "exit" then later comming back with "previous fight, FS2004 takes me back to the START of that flight instead of the end of the flight like it used to??????? Anyone know what might have happened and/or how to get it back to the end of the flight when "previous flight is selected, later? Thanks, jerry
  10. Thanks, Capt, I've been "under the weather" for the last week with NO flying. I'll try this soon. Thanks to you and the others for their help and input. jerry (CWO4 USGC, ret)
  11. I purchased it and used it for awhile but found it to be VERY uncomfortable to have to keep my neck and head still and in the "correct" postion all of the time. I am in my upper 60's so this might me an "old man" problem. I guess that I didn't realize how much I moved my head and neck while flying FS2004 WITOUT it. It was a very cool program and did what it was advertised to do but it hurt my neck too much to use. Another reviewer stated, "When I'm in an airliner it's not much use for doing the systems and such. So I never use it when I'm flying the big birds."I, like him fly mostly the big airliner aircraft and I almost NEVER fly in the VC mode. jerry
  12. I see the #1 pick in most everyone's list is Active Sky V6.5. I am still using AS4.5 and keep saying that I am 100%, not 98% satisfied with my weather in FS2004. I did buy and install AS6.o but to me, it had too many choice's and decisions to make about the weather so I uninstalled it and went back to using AS 4.5. All of you could NOT be wrong as, at one time you were probably running AS4.5 and now you have updated to vr 6.5. Like you, I'm always looking to improved my Fs2004. What, in your opinion, have I missed in NOT upgrading (and using) AS6.5. Thanks, jerry
  13. I have had the DA Cheyenne for a few weeks and still can not figgure out ( Yes I read the booklet) how to change altitude with the auto pilot to a differant altitude at a given vertical feet per minute. If you know how please advise how to do it. Thanks, jerry
  14. Today on a short flight from KJFK (New York) to KBOS(Boston) at the about midway point I was told to "Contact Boston Center" I "keyed" #1 over, and over, and over........ and Boston Center NEVER would come up. The other numbers to key, i.e. 8,9,0 all seemed to work, but I never could reach Boston Center and my whole filght was ruined, in my opinion. This has happened a number of times before and I just stop the flight. You know you can not just stop rc and restart it as it will take you BACK to the "CLR" start of the flight. Is there any work around this problem ? Can anything fix it so that you can continue with the flight? Does this problem happen to you? What do you do? Thanks, jerry
  15. I did post the same on the rc forum. Then reason I also put it here is the fact, probably like a lot of other people, myself included, I rarely go to that fourm but I read this one almost every day. jerry
  16. My RC v4.01 had developed a bad "studder" (from 10 seconds to 2 minutes) responding to a request. I keyed the "UPDATE" button within the rc4 and it came back, NO UPDATES AVAILABLE. This lead me to believe that I had the latest version...... WRONG. I went to the Radar Contact Fourm here and it gave a link to the next version, 4.02 which I downloaded and installed and the "studders" went completely away and now rc is working great ! Question, why did not the Update botton within rd4 advise me of the update ????? jerry

  18. I run all three togather on all flights but I have no {cloulds/weather) installed from the Real Enviroment Pro. I really do not understand why the "weather" installs are in it. I use Real Enviroment Pro because of the GROUND textures. Does anybody use the "weather" in Real Enviroment Pro when they also have and/or use Real Enviroment and Active Sky. Anyway, with the above three systems,Real Enviroment Pro., Flight Enviroment and Active Sky I'm 100 % happy with my Fs2004. By the way, I still use Active Sky 2004.5. I used the next version of it and did not like it. jerrycwo4
  19. I use Autogen sat at 85%. Added note, best scenery I've ever seen on FS9. The New Zealand package of "scenery" and "20M Mesh"(along with Ground Environment Pro.). Bought it from simMarket, expensise, yes, $70 US but worth every penny. Jerrycwo4
  20. Thanks for the ino, ifound it and I bought it. It is a great aircraft. jerrycwo4
  21. I also have most of the FS2004 "enhancers" programs like listed above, so with FS2004 running SO GOOD, why would I want to start all over again and go with FSX? Whats so special about it that some have abandoned Fs2004 and gone with FSX? If you know the answer, please advise. I just dont think my FS2004 could be any better and I (think) I'm satisfied with it for the rest of my life, just like it is now. jerry
  22. Didn't someone make an upscaled Beechcraft Baron 58for sale. Please remind me who it was and a "link", if possible. Thanks, jerry
