  1. Hello, I started with HiFi support forums and their suggestions have not solved my issue which is...is there a way to re-size the Weather Request window that's activated from the P3D add-on menu? I was farting around with DSR and once I found out it wasn't for me, and reverting back to 1920x1080, the request window now takes up 2/3 of my screen. Their suggestions included: This is handled and controlled by FSX/P3D itself. Just click and drag one of the corners. If all else fails, check the .cfg file and see if you can remove the location/size info for the window, or you can even recreate your .cfg (backup, delete, let recreate) from scratch. I definitely think it's a P3D issue as my ProATC request window is acting the same. Any ideas?
  2. Jeroen, What driver do you have matched to your GPU?
  3. New NGX user here. How can I do the above?
  4. Great! Thanks Paul!
  5. Although I am thoroughly enjoying DX10 via the Fixer, I can't help noticing the absence of the AI lighting. Is this a known issue? Are there any steps to take to maximize the lighting? Kind Regards, Gordon Clarkson
  6. If I may... I'd like to see one of the buttons assigned to minimizing the map and bringing up the legs of your flight plan. Would save a ton of trees! Tapped from my G-Nex...
  7. For my texture popping issue (left/right view from the 2D panel) the above change (from the default TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=40, no TextureMaxLoad entry) eliminated it altogether. Thanks for the tip Red!
  8. In a word...AWESOME!Thanks for sharing!
  9. As I have recently discovered PFE, all is right in the world...With your valuable input, I am now enjoying IFR flights with their ATC, along with using the FMC when needed. Adhering to ATC instructions when flying the SID/AP, and utilizing the FMC mid-flight, it's priceless. Thanks again.
  10. Thanks for the input everyone. I'm getting the hang of using the FMC in conjunction with ATC. As real as it gets they say...
  11. Now this is helpful...Thanks Ron.Gordon Clarkson
  12. Very Insightful Eric...Thanks.Gordon Clarkson
  13. Hmmm...so what I'm hearing is...in the FS world, it's one or the other. Thanks,Gordon Clarkson
  14. Hi,When piloting jets, seems you would have to elect to use either the FMC for flight planning, or have ATC direct you to your destination. Are both ever used together? Seems with the default ATC vectoring you 20 degrees to the left, then back 40 degrees to the right (rather frequently), versus the FMC with a predefined flight path, it would be counter-intuitive to use both at the same time. Opinions? Thanks,Gordon Clarkson
  15. >Hi,>>The reason I ask is that for some, in general, even with no>Add-ons installed, FSX will exhibit this behavior in Full>Screen Mode. Most of the fixes involve updating the video>drivers. Much has been posted about this in the General>Forums. That is why I ask to try this, because it might not be>ASX at all.>>Thanks,>Jim>>http://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpg>http://www.hifisim.com/Jim,Good advice! That was the issue for me. I updated my 7900 GS with the newest 178.13 (from 169.XX - which have been pretty solid...until I installed ASX) and have flown with ASX running for over 3 hours straight...without a hang. Also, overall props to the newest driver as well...with injecting overall spunk into FSX (at least with my mid-range PC).Gordon
  16. >Hi,>>Run in Windowed Mode with ASX and see if the lockups occur.>>Thanks,>Jim>>http://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpg>http://www.hifisim.com/Ughhh...I normally run FSX locked at 30 FPS full screen. Windowed mode drops that number to 18-22...and introduces chugging. Hopefully, there is another solution on the horizon for this.
  17. >Up until yesterday I thought this was a hardware problem. >Through a fluke I just realized that the freezing behavior>does not occur when I forget to start active-sky.>>When this lock-up occurs the sound keeps playing (probably a>loop) but the mouse, keyboard and display are frozen. The>freeze lasts anywhere from a couple of minutes to ten minutes.> Then the system just comes back to life right where I left>off and runs for a time, maybe fifteen minutes before the>freeze repeats. I'm not sure about the timing on these>cycles, this is just a SWAG.>>How can I trouble-shoot/debug this for you? I'm running build>1160 of Active Sky X. I also have X Graphics build 298>installed, though I don't usually run it while flying.>>I believe I have the latest patch for the SDK but maybe you>can tell me a way to verify the correct component version for>SimConnect?I have experienced the exact same issue with ASX build 1160. It usually locks (with continuing sound) after 30-45 minutes. As a matter of fact, I just started troubleshooting this last night. Was simming without ASX loaded for 1.5 hrs and no lockup. Not complaining, but wanted to report this just the same.
