  1. Copy Vaughan, full real name. Now on to the problem. I have sound, but just blank screens. MD11 does not initialize. I reran the Flight1 registry repair thinking I may have fouled up the first attempt. MD-11 and 747 are both still out of service.Adam Cole
  2. Thanks for the reply, but that thread has nothing to do with my issue. Any other suggestions? Thanks,Adam
  3. Hello!I had to run the filght1 registry repair to fix a flight1 addon. Now, when I try to fly the md11 or 747, I just get blank screens. Also, the md11 does not go through its usual initialization like it normally does. Does anyone know how to undo the flight1 registry repair so I can get my pmdg products working again? Thanks,Adam
  4. Assume you are on a flight to KDFW. On the ground you entered the entire route to include an arrival. In this example lets use the JEN8 arrival and the INK transition. Then, as you are nearing KDFW you plan on the ILS 36L approach. Do a lateral revision from the last waypoint prior to KDFW. Select arrivals. Then select ILS 36L. The next thing to do is press the CLR key and line select 1L to remove selection of the JEN8 arrival. If you do not do this, then when you select 6L to insert the ILS 36L into the flight plan page you will also select the JEN8 arrival which has already been selected during preflight. This will cause problems with PROFILE mode and cause duplicate waypoints on the flight plan page.Adam
  5. I have been able to fly the same route that got me the ctd without a ctd several times now. I have simulated reroutes and holding and various other things in the fms with no ctd. Im not sure what went wrong on the first flight after the update. One new problem I have is sometimes the autobrakes will not disengage after landing. Ill have to do more flights to know if the brake issue is a real problem or just a one time thing.Adam
  6. Hello,I installed the latest update to the fs9 version of the md-11 and got my first ever pmdg caused ctd. I am running fs9 and md-11 on a vista ultimate 32 bit system. I purchased the md-11 as soon as it was available for fs9. I have not had any problems until now. Here is what occured. I was enroute from KABQ to KELP. Route of flight was KABQ..ABQ.J13.RUTER.J86.ELP..KELP. I took off and had joined J13. I then tried to go direct to EWM. As soon as I pressed cdu lsk 1L to confirm direct to EWM, the screen went black followed by the msg that flight simulator has encountered a problem and needs to close due to pmdg_md11.gau. Ill give it another shot and see what happens.Adam
  7. Hello,I have Vista Ultimate and just purchased the Dreamfleet 727 v2 from flight 1 just a few days ago. It works great so far on my computer. I installed it as administrator and I also run fs9 as administrator. I do not run it in win xp compatible mode. I also run the 727 config manager as administrator.
  8. Push the FMS SPD button to change the speed above the speed tape and white THRUST to magenta. Now the autothrottle will command fms speed if using thrust for speed or will use pitch to maintain fms speed depending on the selected vertical mode.Adam
  9. Hello,I have question regarding the MD-11 for fs9. I noticed during climb and passing 10,000 ft, I get a pretty good thrust reduction. I am unable to find anything in the manuals about a possible automatic climb derate while climbing through 10,000 ft. On my last flight from KABQ to KONT, at 10,000 ft the thrust limit went from 1.41 epr to 1.34. No big deal as acceleration to climb speed and rate of climb were still good, but just curious. I know climb derates are an option for the MD-11, but they are not included on the thrust limits page. Any ideas?ThanksAdam
  10. I noticed this same behavior with my fs9 MD-11. I was flying the ILS to runway 8 in KABQ. I was level at 8000ft inbound with NAV and alt HOLD engaged. Just before crossing the ABQ vor, I pushed the appr/land switch. At that time, LOC and GS engaged and the plane pitched up about 25 degrees with almost max thrust and climbed like a rocket until it intercepted the glideslope. After that, it performed as I expected.Adam
  11. Ive also got some VC issues along with a lot of flickering. I prefer the 2d cockpit, so not that big of deal. Adam
  12. Zero flap maneuvering speed or flaps up maneuvering speed is displayed on the PFD airspeed scale as the UP bug. Should also be VREF40+70 if you want to try to figure it manually. Adam
  13. This feature is an option for the 747-400. I dont know of many airlines that has chosen this feature, but United is one of them. Capt Mike Ray flew for United so he is very familiar with this option. Uniteds 757s and 767s also have the same feature. There are 3 flight control computers. With this option enabled, each fcc can provide flight director commands or autopilot commands, but not both. So with the captains fd switch on, the command bars will be in view on the captains pfd if the left autopilot command switch is not engaged. And likewise for the right autopilot and the first officers pfd. If the captains and first officers fd switches are on and the center autopilot is engaged, then both pilots will have the fd command bars on their pfd's. During autoland, both pilots fd command bars will be removed from view at 1500ft when all three autopilots engage. A. Cole
  14. Thanks Ryan. I will not reinstall the sound update. Adam
  15. Hello,I have a question regarding the sound update for the 747. I purchased the 747-400 pax version and then installed the sound update. A few days later I decided to purchase the 747-400F cargo version. I installed the cargo version 2 days ago. I am not sure if I need to reinstall the sound update or just leave it alone. I have searched the forum and it seems the recommended order of install is 747 pax, then 747 cargo, and the sound update last. But I dont see anything about installing the pax version, then the sound update, and at a later date installing the cargo version. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks,Adam
  16. Thanks for the suggestion Scobie. After several failed attempts, I am finally able to post on the wilco legacy forum!
  17. Hello all! Im looking for someone with Wilco Legacy and Vista experience. Here is my issue. After reading some positive posts on the Legacy, I visited wilcos website to check it out. I have vista ultimate 32 so I wanted to make sure that it was vista compatible. So I checked out the technical requirements and it says fs2004 or fsx and windows xp OR vista 32 bit.I then purchased the legacy and insatlled it. Works great until I want to exit fs2004 or change to another aircraft. Then I get the CTD that says ms2004 has encountered a problem and has stopped working. It says its due to legacy_GAU. I tried to join the Wilco forum but for some reason I am unable to sign in. I did read of similar issues with fsx and vista but not fs9 and vista. I then sent wilco support a email with my issue. Wilco responded and said they do not support fs9 products with vista, even know its says windows xp or vista. I have completed a few flights just fine with the legacy. It seems all systems work ok. Its justed annoying to have to restart fs9 to change aircraft and have to put up with the shutdown problem. I have pmdg 737, level d 767, and maddog 2006 all installed and running with no problems. Anyone have any advice on how to correct this problem? Thanks
  18. Mr. Floyd is correct. The mins selector is set to BARO for ILS CAT I and all Non-ILS approaches. The mins selector is set to RADIO for CAT II and CAT III approaches. Many 737 operators use HUD for approaches below CAT I mins. I know of one airline where the autopilot must be disengaged by 1000'AFL and mins selector set to 50ft for a HUDCAT III approach. The approach is hand flown. For airlines that dont use HUD, CAT II approaches can be autoland or autopilot used to DH then disconnected. Some airlines reccomend autoland for CAT II but its not required. And as John said, CAT IIIa without HUD must be an autoland. Fail Operational approach is an option for the B737ng. In this case, the aircraft is certified to CAT IIIb approaches with an Alert height of 100' agl. In this case, set the mins selector to 100'. Maybe the new PMDG 737 will have HUD or fail operational autopilot as options.A. Cole
  19. Ok, I verified that AA was not checked within fs9. Still onlyworks if I check enhance in game AA in Nhancer. I read the Nhancer manual about flagged games in their profiles thatwill not run correctly unless enhance in game AA is used.I guess thats the case with fs9 on my computer. Oh well, other than the AA, fs9 runs well on my machine. Thanks for the suggestion Stephen.Fosl
  20. Hello,I downloaded Nhancer. I deleted the fs9 profileand set the profile settings as suggested. My problemis when I start fs9, the airplane in the rotating createa flight screen is all white. Even the tires, pilot inside, just all white. When I select fly now, the sim loads andthe c172 panel is just a blank white screen. The scenery looksok but the plane and panel are white. I noticed this onlyhappens when I deselect =enhance in game aa= option in Nhancer. If I put a check in that box, all planes and panels are normalbut it appears there is no AA. I have searched for similarproblems but only found info on the black screen issue.Any one else seen this problem before?ThanksFoslI have vista ultimate 32, intel e6400, GeForce 7300LE, 2 gig.
  21. Also try this file, cfm56-7_series.zip by Devyn Silverstein.Has a great grrrr sound!Cole
  22. Thanks Mr. Downs for the explanation. Its not that big of dealbut is noticable. Also, I downloaded your procedures fromthe avsim library and simulated a few flights with them. Thanks for the great work!A. Cole
  23. Hello all,I have been enjoying the 737-6/7/8/900 for the last 5 months.Just last week I decided to update the FMC nav database,so I purchased some navigraph credits and updated to airac0707. I also updated sids/stars. Now I notice thatwhen I select a departure rwy on the route page orselect an approach procedure on the dep/arr page, the touchdown zone elevation along with the altitudereference line on the PFD altimeter scale is off by 50 or so feetat just about every airport Ive tried. I have made surethat the correct QNH is set. Also, the extended runway centerline is also off a few degrees. I assume this is becausethe fmc database has been updated but the fs9 databasehas not been, for example for changes in variation. I justwant to confirm this is an expected problem with updatedFMC vs fs9 and not something wrong with the program.Has anyone else seen this?ThanksA. Cole
  24. I had the same exact problem. I read on here or somewhere to run fs9 as an administrator and the liveries will show up. I did that and now I have all the liveries I downloaded. You need to right click on the fs9 icon, click on the security tab I think it was, click box that says run as an administrator. Worked for me!!Adam
