  1. Hello! My old computer died and ive installed fsx on my wifes computer. It has windows 7 64 and an amd hd 6770 graphics card. Its running pretty good except the font in the 2d cockpit is fuzzy. I can still read it, just not sharp like it was on my vista computer. The virtural cockpits have no problem. The ngx vc font on the displays is very sharp and clear. But when I switch to the 2d cockpit that is not the case. Any suggestions? Thanks
  2. Only the system annuciator lights illuminate for me. The master caution lights do not illuminate.
  3. Ok, got the pro version. Test flight from kelp to kabq and ground is looking much better than default. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Thanks guys! I will probably get the standard version and if I really like it take advantage of the coupon for the pro version. I do most of my flying in fsx but recently bought the aeroworx king air and can't stand the default desert textures. I do most of my flying in the southwestern usa so Im hoping this will improve the look of fs9.
  5. Hello! Im thinking of buying flight 1's ground environment to replace fs9 ground textures. All I want is ground, not sky or cloud as I have rex already installed. Is it worth the extra $20 to get ground environment pro or is just ground environment good enough?
  6. Im running an E6400 at 2.13. I run with only 10 percent airline traffic. No g/a or ground traffic. I set a high layer of cirrus clouds to add a littlt to the sky. Autogen set at sparse and scenery set at normal. Im really enjoying the ngx even with such a low end machine. Obviously doesnt look as great as the latest sb machines, but working great for me!
  7. Hello! I have noticed that the wing anti ice valve will not open without engine or apu bleed pressure. The manual says the wing anti ice valves are ac motored valves and do not require air pressure to open. Can any real world pilot here confirm which is correct? Thanks
  8. FL180 is not mandatory. FL180 is the minimum enroute atitude.
  9. A friend got a new computer and gave me his dell xps 8300. It has an I7 2600 and a nvidia gt 545 card. Its darn near a new computer and better then the old one Im using. Will this combo cpu and video card be able to run fsx? I dont need all sliders, traffic and wx maxed, just usable. Thanks for your opinions
  10. HI Scott. Its very weird. If I enable ut landclasses I then lose default for alaska, canada, and mexico. Those are the areas that were previously taken care of with scenery tech north america. If I disable all ut landclasses then it works as I think it should. It is my understanding that utx usa is only for the 48 states.
  11. thanks Jahman. A little more investigating and it seems it may be related to utx usa. After I uninstalled scenery tech, I fired up the sim in mexico city and it was just a big desert. Same for all mexico cities. I figured that when I uninstalled st the fsx default landclass would take over for mexico. I then took off out of el paso and noticed that juarez was also missing. No problem with anything in the us. So while in flight I disabled all the ut landclass entries in the scenery library and then the default landclass was back to normal for mexico. I would like to use utx landclasses for the usa but at the same time use default for mexico, canada and alaska.
  12. Hello! I recently uninstalled Scenery Tech north america landclass and now I have no landclass. How can I restore fsx's default landclass? Thanks
  13. Thanks guys, I will give all suggestions a try.
  14. Hello! Does anyone know how to get rid of the ground that seems to glow during night? I have tested with no moon, fooled around with the monitor settings etc. The sky is pitch black and looks good, but I can clearly see all the terrain features of the desert southwest during night with no moon. I can also see all runway markings the full length of the runway with all exterior lights turned off. I used a feature in the fs9 version of rex that helped night look like night but I do not see that in the fsx version. Any ideas? Thanks
  15. Thanks. On the ngx, I can set up a takeoff with a direct crosswind and the nd shows the correct wind speed and direction. Just wondering how it does that because while still on the ground the track and heading are still the same. Would seem like the aircraft would need to be in the air to determine wind based on groundspeed, tas, heading and track.
  16. On takeoff while accelerating through approx 100 kias the nd displays wind speed and direction. I know the manual says it will display when true airspeed is greater than 100 kts. But how is wind speed and direction determined while still on the ground?
  17. As Mr. Pascoe suggests I can manually type the waypoints individually and enter constraints or better yet just use raw data. But I would like to be able to line select the approach!
  18. Hope not! I did jepp revisions just last night. The airport diagram updated to include the runway extension but the above chart is current.
  19. Here is a picture of the approach chart for loc dme 15.
  20. Thanks. I have the chart for the loc dme rwy 15. Looks similar to the pdf you posted. I have messed with the file in the pmdg arrivals folder and it didnt work very well. Looks easy just time consuming. I will keep working on it. I have never fooled around with the navdata before.
  21. Hello!I recently did a flight into Aspen and when I selected the arrivals for kase, there is no approach to select. Is it possible for me to somehow edit the arrival info in order to include the loc dme rwy 15 approach? Thanks
  22. Thanks Dan, I will set up a paypal account.
  23. Is there anyplace else to purchase REX other then flightsim.com? I have tried 2 different credit cards and both have been rejected due to the transaction not being in the US. Even after calling Visa and Mastercard and telling them its not fraud and please allow me to purchase it will not allow the purchase.
  24. Is there a short video demonstration or something similar on this 737 cbt? I would like to see it in action before buying. Thanks
  25. Plane is veering to the right as it should be. It will weathervane into the wind and the pilot will need to correct with downwind rudder or left rudder in this case.
