So I'm abit embarrassed to post this question as I've been simming for the better part of 14 years now, and I've never used trim control until now, and apparently it is needed for the 747-8i to lift off the runway... I found the nob below the engines in the default panel, I tried +4,+8/+10° and -4/-8/10° configurations with 10 or 20° flaps, no dice the plane won't budge off the runway...The plane looks marvelous and I'd love to be able to use it as an airbus (no pun intended) as opposed to a regular bus that runs into trees and what not.Thanks in advance :-)

Would anyone recommend this utility over any mainline defrag carrier such as disk keeper? I've used jkdefrag in the past and really liked its light weight impact on my system...

Hey there,thanks for the reply! Well yeah I want to use his guide which is why I did the first part... Where he says to reboot upon completion of every step (SP 1, SP 2, etc), anything below that I haven't yet done and I will... I was just surprised is all... The there would be such stutters...I'm really excite about FS X, all my life I've only playes on a 15 inch laptop so imagine how happy I would be to get it to run decently on a 24 inch screen :):)

OK so I just bought with my brother a new rig that he built. It has the following:Core i7 920 no overclocking done yet4 GB of DDR3Gainward Gold GTX 260 896 MB of DDR3500 GB HD 7,200 RPM24 inch Iiyama screen in 1920x1080 setting.So I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64,I installed FS X, loaded up the first flight, rebooted the computer, installed SP 1, loaded flight, rebooted, loaded SP 2, first flight, rebooted, and then started flying.I put all settings on max, except traffic for everything at 5-10%. I get 7-14 FPS (I have NO add ons installed). and I'm playing at a low resolution for a 24 inch (1380 by 768)When I put the autogen to none or sparse and remove the ground scenery cast shadows options, I get 15 to 25 FPS but very stuttery (I have the FPS locked at 24) like it'll be at 24 FPS for 3 seconds then go down to 4 and ruin the whole sim experience, I flew in spot plane mode around KSEA with all default, a few clouds, etc...I'm just scared because this is all default, no add ons... I thought the rig I had was considered mid/high end... My wndows 7 index is 5.9 (for the Hard Drive reading time, everything else is above 7)Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to chill? I haven't applied any other tweaks such as on herehttp://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041Would those tweaks prove succesfful? Hi guys,I'm looking at upgrading my computer and came across this deal from Newegg:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...82E16883227146RThe sale is just for the tower keyboard and mouse but it's an i7 920 with 6 GB of triple channel DDR 3 1333 MHz and a GTX 285, comes with 1 TB SATA IIWould I be able to overclock the CPU to a stable 4GHz eventhough I am not building it from scratch? Would that prove more difficult? What could I possibly change that would make the PC more optimized for FS X? (Faster Hard Drive, more RAM, etc...)I'm already planning on putting Windows 7 RC on it.I guess I am asking because the PC is $1,299 on sale for $1,049 which to me seems like a really good deal...Look forward to some imput! :-)AC881

K, reinstalling FScene got rid of the grassy textures but now I don't know whether the city textures are those FScene or Vancouver+... The downtown core and the farm land looks like Vancouver+ so I'm guessing so is the rest?

Thank you very much Holger, yes I have various textures sets, from FScene 2004 to other individual ones, but I don't know if I like them, I guess I thought that the Vancouver+ textures should override those? How to I revert back to the default ground textures without doing a total reinstall? Would reinstalling, say FScene potentially solve the problem? I think those are ground textures, not sure though, I'm still kind of new when it comes to all the various components of Flight Sim...Thanks again :-)

Hi all,Well I just installed Vancouver+ and, while the downtown core looks great, the rest of the city area looks off, basically green with trees and roads, is this normal???I've attached screenshots of my scenery library and the scenery itself, I don't have a whole lot installed in terms of add ons, just Vancouver+, CYYC Demo version, Zvartnots 2008 and Real CDG in terms of airport add ons, as per the scenery library below.I checked page 22 of the manual and seems like everything is in order...?Any help would be greatly appreciated as I live in Vancouver right now and would love to see its beauty in Flight Sim :-)

How do all these differ from using the Print screen function and then copying in paint? That's what I do... Kinda redundant after a while though cuz you gotta keep pasting and copying over for more than one shot...

Cool! I was going to suggest something but looks like you fixed it. I had the same error with my AI packages... It seemed that once I unzipped the file, another zip file appeared with a readme notepad file.. Selecting that zipped unzipped file to install made everything work... I dunno, it could be random luck on my end I guess, but glad you got it fixed :-)

You mean the "Add on dynamic scenery" option? It is at 100% I have everything maxed out

Hi there!!I just installed World of AI and am loving it so far.Here's my question. It seems that each airline I install doesn't produce many aircraft eventhough my dynamic scenery is set is to maximum.For instance I installed the Westjet package based out of Calgary and when I went to Calgary to check it out I only saw one Westjet aircraft when I know there should be more since I worked there for a year lolIs there a setting I am missing where you can increase or decrease the number of aircraft in activity per airline?Thanks a bunch for the help,William :)

Hey guys,Well I am alittle alarmed here. Just received my new HP laptop below, installed FS 9 first thing & to my big surprise, it is REALLY slow!!...14 FPS at max if I am lucky... I don't think that's normal.. I checked the specs & they are all there. See belowI bought an HP DV6675US with the following specs:T7250 2.0 GHz Core Duo4 GB RAM 667 MHz250 GB HD 5400 RPMGeforce 8400 GS 128 MB Dedicated (low, I know)Vista Ultimate 64My old laptop Toshiba Satellite 100 runs FS 9 mxed out at 25-30 FPS even in New York and i have tons of add ons on there whereas the hp only has the FS 9 base install... 14 FPS..My old laptop is:T5600 1.83 GHz2 GB RAM 533 MHz160 GO HDGeforce 7600 GO 128 MB DDRWindows XP Media CenterI am talking about both FS 9 installations maxed out and at 1280 x 800 in 32 bit...Vista Ultimate couldn't be the culprit could it?
