  1. hello, From the flying magazine website http://www.flyingmag.com/technique/weather/video-extremely-strong-winds-force-super-cubs-air oops
  2. I don't know what Horizon looks like. Is MSE England on par with other MSE products? THX
  3. A2A keep getting better and better. I wonder what their next masterpiece will be. Any idea of what's in the pipe? THX
  4. Hi, Thank you guys for your nice comments. Scenery is Simsavvy utah. It is no longer available. it has been superseded by megascenery earth 2.0. I can tell you I was blown away by the crispness of the scenery; what a treat!
  5. Engine fire!! I crashed just a few miles before reaching the airport.
  6. Hi, I've been using the useful fourflights website for a long time to select my flights but lately both google chrome and mozilla firefox have not let me access this website on the grounds that it contains malwares. I wonder if it is a false or real malware detection.
  7. ASN is not P3D compatible yet. It's in the pipe though, there's a beta version.
  8. Hello, I've just bought P3D 2.2 and it works fine without doing anything in the default settings except the FPS which I set at 30. I run at a steady 30 even though I only have a GTX 560 Ti 1G, CPU I7 2600K at 4.4 Ghz. I am glad that my CH yoke, rudder pedals , 3 saitek quadrants, Saitek radio panel and MCP work fine thanks to FSUIPC and Spad drivers. So far so good. No tweaking at all (I can't believe it !!!)
  9. hi, Great video! Didn't you take off downwind?
  10. hi, Very nice. Are you sure that flying in clouds with a Cub is legal?
  11. hello, The scenery is gorgeous. Downloading is a long process but it is worth it. Follow the installation steps carefully otherwise, you will be lost with all the files!!
  12. hi, I always enjoy photoscenery shots. How does Simsavvy utah compare with MS2 utah? THX
  13. These are REX textures. I've had them for a long time and they look great. Sometimes I thought they were too good looking to be true and started to check the sky while waiting for my train when commuting and found out that the real world sky was a beautiful thing to watch close to the REX skies. In the case of the first 2 shots (the depiction lasted for a short time), I agree with you but sometimes the sun does look like that through clouds. Cheers
  14. hello, All the guys that I know who partionned their HHDs have regreted it because eventually there was not enough space where needed while there was plenty of space where not needed and then you cannot adjust the size of the partitions (except with dedicated payware software). Besides, if the HDD fails, your paritions are lost. In my opinion partitions were useful years ago when HDD were costly and of small capacity.Buy several HDDs instead, you will have more flexibility.
  15. I got another reply from the development team following my sending some log files. They told me that the issue is related to the way FSX handles vertical visibility but they are working on a fix which will be incorporated in a further SP1 package. They also said that this problem is also present in previous versions of active sky. It's funny because I don't remember seeing it, maybe, the occurence is not very high after all. The product is great and is a big improvement to ASE, which was already good.
  16. Hello While Flying over New Mexico, I discovered those stange patterns on the ground (next to the DC3 by its left wing). Looks like an alien airbase to me.. The center of those circles is probably the landing/launch pad. I checked the location on google earth's street view and the path to the base is gated without any signs. By the way, did I mention that this place is not far from Rosewell? It tells you something doesn't it? Now that I've posted this, I fear for my safety, you all know what the military is up to...
  17. Hello, I got a reply from the official forum. They told me to install their patch and to install the latest version of FSUIPC. But it hasn't fixed the problem. Clear skies and then I fly through a haze layer when descending. That is not good. The matter of the fact is that I've never experienced this with activesky evolution. Let's hope HIFI finds a solution!
  18. In fact your problem is slighly different from mine because you did not see what you were supposed to see according to the METAR whereas I saw what I was not supposed to see according to the METAR  . The common grounds are: 1) the cloud layer was not visible from above 2) we haven't got any reply from Hifi I've posted the same question on the Hifi forum. Maybe I will be luckier there
  19. Hello, I experienced this issue several times yesterday as I was flying over Spain in the Pamplona area. The METAR was CAVOK. I was flying at 5000 ft and started my descent. The visibility was clear down below but when I reached 4500 ft I crossed a 1500 foot thick haze layer and then was in clear conditions again. It is strange because before starting my descent there was no haze at all below me. What can I do to avoid this? Thank you
  20. Thank you Rob for replying. I followed your advice regarding the positive forward movement of the stick and it worked. As soon as the AOA gauge pointer was in the yellow area, I gently pulled back the stick to regain lift. Starting the stall at 9500 ft/80 kt (70% of fuel), I succesfully recovered 5 times out of 5 at 8300 ft with a maximum IAS of 145 kt and a maximum VS of 4000 ft/mn. The key was to forget about the frightening nose down attitude and high vertical speed in order to maintain the AOA in the yellow area. Stall recovery in the Lancair is not as easy as with other aircraft. I am gald I am now able to survive stalls!!!
  21. I've done some internet research about the lancair 's stall behaviour and what I 've read on 2 flight test reports is nowhere near what we experience with the realair lancair. http://lancairlegacy.com/Gallery_images/CAFE_Legacy_report.pdf http://lancairlegacy.com/Gallery_images/Legacy_article.pdf I am puzzled because the modelisation seems to be incorrect. I may contact Rob in order to clear that up. THX
  22. Hi, I am a bit surprised at the lancair stall modelisation. Here is my case: 11000 ft 120kt fuel 70%. I start a power off stall. I reduce power ,the speed decreases as I maintain my altitude with the stick. At 80 kt, I have the stall warning, the aircraft shudders. I gently push the stick forward, at 10000 ft, my speed reaches 125 kt, I pull the stick gently, apply power, to no avail, the aircraft sinks nose down and whatever I do with the controls the aircraft keeps diving nose down. I don't enter a spin, nor a secondary stall, it is only that the aircraft controls are ineffective.. I can replicate this behaviour at most of the power off stall that I make. I've never experienced this with any aircraft in FSX. It is as if I was in a deep stall but in a nose down attitude instead of a nose up attitude (for the deep stall). What do you think? THX
