Hello, I experienced this issue several times yesterday as I was flying over Spain in the Pamplona area. The METAR was CAVOK. I was flying at 5000 ft and started my descent. The visibility was clear down below but when I reached 4500 ft I crossed a 1500 foot thick haze layer and then was in clear conditions again. It is strange because before starting my descent there was no haze at all below me. What can I do to avoid this? Thank you

Thank you Rob for replying. I followed your advice regarding the positive forward movement of the stick and it worked. As soon as the AOA gauge pointer was in the yellow area, I gently pulled back the stick to regain lift. Starting the stall at 9500 ft/80 kt (70% of fuel), I succesfully recovered 5 times out of 5 at 8300 ft with a maximum IAS of 145 kt and a maximum VS of 4000 ft/mn. The key was to forget about the frightening nose down attitude and high vertical speed in order to maintain the AOA in the yellow area. Stall recovery in the Lancair is not as easy as with other aircraft. I am gald I am now able to survive stalls!!!

I've done some internet research about the lancair 's stall behaviour and what I 've read on 2 flight test reports is nowhere near what we experience with the realair lancair. http://lancairlegacy.com/Gallery_images/CAFE_Legacy_report.pdf http://lancairlegacy.com/Gallery_images/Legacy_article.pdf I am puzzled because the modelisation seems to be incorrect. I may contact Rob in order to clear that up. THX

Hi, I am a bit surprised at the lancair stall modelisation. Here is my case: 11000 ft 120kt fuel 70%. I start a power off stall. I reduce power ,the speed decreases as I maintain my altitude with the stick. At 80 kt, I have the stall warning, the aircraft shudders. I gently push the stick forward, at 10000 ft, my speed reaches 125 kt, I pull the stick gently, apply power, to no avail, the aircraft sinks nose down and whatever I do with the controls the aircraft keeps diving nose down. I don't enter a spin, nor a secondary stall, it is only that the aircraft controls are ineffective.. I can replicate this behaviour at most of the power off stall that I make. I've never experienced this with any aircraft in FSX. It is as if I was in a deep stall but in a nose down attitude instead of a nose up attitude (for the deep stall). What do you think? THX

Did you try the Spad forum? http://fstools.weebly.com/forum.html You may find some help.

When you install the SPAD drivers, which are much better than the saitek drivers, you will get a manual which explains how to set up the saitek units. It is well written and easy to follow. You can do it!

USB 2.0 speed is 480 MB/s (60 Mo/s) so it is more than necessary. When I bought Simsavy the scenery was provided on an USB 2.0 external drive and I have not experienced blurries. By the way Simsavvy was my best FSX bargain ever. Being one of the first customers, thanks to the free upgrades, I got the entire US for about 200 $. I am glad I trusted Larry right from the start of his outstanding venture. Your gorgeous shots are a testimony to Larry's great job. I really enjoy his textures, they are so immersive.

but you don't need a SSD for photoscenery, even an external usb 2.0 hard disk drive does it nicely.

Here is the link to the installation guide, which in turn gives you the link to the files. http://deckard.uv.es/SPAIN_PHOTOSCENERY/GUIDE%20FOR%20INSTALLATION%20%28ENGLISH%29.pdf Be aware that downloading the files is a long process but worth it. Follow the installation steps carefully. By the way , does anyone know what those blacks dots in the fields shown in the last screenshots are? I wonder what they grow there. Maybe castanets...

Hi Dutch, For me your DC3C is the best so far. Is there a chance that the depth of the DC3C system simulation could be applied to this latest version? -
I suggest that you try lanzarotte island. The volcanic landscape is spectacular

hello Did you know that the entire spain is available in photoscenery for free? http://deckard.uv.es/SPAIN_PHOTOSCENERY/GUIDE%20FOR%20INSTALLATION%20%28ENGLISH%29.pdf Let me tell you the scenery quality is simply outstanding!!!

A2A Accu-Sim Cessna 172 may be out "within the week"

hi, If you are refereing to your indicated airspeed, 105 kts at 5000 ft, standard temperature gives 113 kt which is the c 172 cruise speed (true airspeed). The wind has no effect on your indicated airspeed, only on your ground speed given by the GPS. -
hi I have UT2 and I am very pleased with it. No bugs, very powerful and flexible. There is a cool feature that allows you to select your add on aircraft as AI.

warning nvidia driver auto updates
yankeegolf3 replied to yankeegolf3's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Thank you for the tip. It means that the driver setting has priority over windows update doesn't it? I would rather windows update took care of the operating system only and not of the drivers. Like tabs, I don't trust unwanted changes in my computer, a mess is never far from happening...at any time... -
warning nvidia driver auto updates
yankeegolf3 replied to yankeegolf3's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
They were only a few months old. I am not complaining about windows update which does its job. I prefer not to install the latest drivers because I fear that they are not FSX compatible. I wait to get reports from unlucky simmers.... regards -
warning nvidia driver auto updates
yankeegolf3 replied to yankeegolf3's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
hello Strange but true. I checked in the windows update list and found a nvidia driver update flagged as important. So windows decided that it had to be installed (I have the auto update option selected). -
Hello, I've discussed it in the forum driver sub forum but I thought that it could interest a broader audience. Fellow simmers and myself have noticed that windows automatically updates nvidia drivers. It seems to be a new feature. Since all drivers are not FSX compatible it can create problems whose origin is not easy to identify if you are not aware of those background updates. Besides nvidia inspector settings have to be reset.
