  1. I get the same thing i.e. "MCP heading only works anticlockwise". This is on an expensive CPFlight MCP operating the PMDG 737 Don't know what conflict is causing this, so at the moment I have stopped using RC4. I do know that the "increase MCP heading" key command for the PMDG 737 is nothing like any single key command in RC4. Without RC4 running - no problems.Bill
  2. I have been simming for many years (FS9) and, along with a new computer, I have recently purchased AS6.5. What a wonderful improvement that has made to the overall experience for me. I absolutely love this add-on. This is really a "must have" for everyone. To the creators of this programme -Thank You.Bill
  3. Which version of FSUIPC are you using? The latest is 3.965. There were a few issues with joystick timeouts and com radios recently which are fixed in 3.965. Don't know if your issue is related to this but just in case.Bill
  4. I do most if not all my flying in the UK with the odd excursion into mainland Europe. Can anyone recommend a good Terrain Mesh (payware or freeware). I have FS9, Windows 7, AS6.5., UT Europe, Gnd Environment and Flight Environment. FSGlobal seems overkill for my needs.Bill
  5. Agree absolutely. Opa is a great help to everyone here. He has helped me tremendously in the past and probably will do so againBill
  6. I cannot help you but I offer my shared sympathies. This "security" in Windows 7 is a real pain and for me really difficult to understand. I am having my own problems and have been struggling with what should be (and was in XP) a simple install.Bill
  7. On second thoughts that was just a frustrated rant. All of the programmes mentioned are running well in Windows 7 a nd I am experiencing very smooth flights. But I am having a very frustrating time getting my CPFlight MCP (RS232 version) working. Paolo from CPFlight and Pete Dowson from FSUIPC are both trying to help me. It may all be related to this security thing but maybe not. Considering that this piece of kit is by far the most expensive addition to my flightsim setup you may understand my frustration particularly after I have had several years of very reliable performance from it under XP.Bill
  8. As in the title I am totally and completely confused by Windows 7. Having come from XP and getting a new, virgin computer. I installed FS9. Then on advice I created a partition and installed FS9 there. I thought I had uninstalled FS9 from the Main "C" drive but I see some of it still remains.I then installed a CPFlight Driver on "C" drive and must also have installed it on "E" drive. Then I try to uninstall it and it disappears from the All Programmes list but sits complete on "E" drive still. I just don't understand-why didn't it uninstall from "E" drive?I have installed Ultimate Terrain, Ground Environment, WOAI packages, GoFlight Modules, FSUIPC 3.96, PMDG737-800.etcI have nothing on this machine that is needed.I want to start afresh and reinstall everything again. Is there an easy way to clean up this brand new computer.Might even consider reinstalling XP.I am getting old so something familiar might be easier for me.Bill
  9. May I add UK2000 Scenery - I was reinstalling their UK Airports on a new computer over the Christmas hols and got superb support.Bill
  10. Just scroll down:I used the" WOAI - FAQ and Support for WOAI installers" sectionMy mistake was being unobservant and failing to "browse" to the FS9 folder to select it as my "target" for installation. Simple as that. Since then I have installed many packages and, once sorted, it really only is a matter of about 4 mouse clicks to install a package.A brilliant programme and rock solid in my opinion.Bill
  11. Your description is exactly what I experienced. My Ext HDD is now in a new caddie with a new power supply and is working fine. They charged me
  12. Well I've got sorted. The guys over at WOAI forum (in particular Reggie and Garfield) got me up and running. They are to be recommended if you are having WOAI problems.Bill
  13. No that wasn't the problem. OK system -New Computer" Windows 7 - FS9.When I tried to install 5 WOAI packages using the installer I get this error message"Could not find a part of the pathC:\Users\user\Desktop\woains24\scenery\world\scenery\Traffic_000_"I am going to send this to WOAI but hoping I might get a quicker solution here.A folder containg scenery - world-scenery - and the 5 Traffic_000_ is sitting on my desktop. It neeeds to go to FS2004 I presume. In the destination box in the installer was Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 but it was "greyed out" and I couldn't get it to bold. Thanks Bill
  14. Had a post here asking for help but I might have found a "poor" transfer from one computer to the other.(Have just edited out the original wording) Checking it out now.Bill
  15. To answer my own question - yes I can. Leastways I have imported my fs9.cfg from xp and all is well.Bill
  16. Thank you Jim. Perfect guide.A little follow up question. Can I import my XP settings as I have tweaked the fs9.cfg and the panel.cfg of the PMDG 737-800. Can I also import my FSUIPC settings for Joystick calibration, buttons, switches etc? Thanks,Bill
  17. I would like to import my FS9.cfg from my XP machine to my Windows 7 machine. In Windows 7 the FS9.cfg is in App Data/Roaming etc but i can only reach "user" After that no APP DATA or Roaming appear as an option. What am I missing here and is this even possible.Bill
  18. Will they run OK from there then?Everything else seems to have gone to Program Files - I think! Need to go back and check.Bill
  19. Guys I am useless with computers but I am just today also installing FS9 on a new computer (i5 withn an nvidiaGTX260 graphics card). Now I did nothing fancy (cause I don't know how to) and just put the FS9 disks into the drive and installed. I followed this with Ultimate Terrain (Europe) Ground Environment and Flight Environment - plugged in a Logitech Joystick and went flying - absolutely awesome - as smooth as silk (locked at 20fps) high res.I am not convinced that Ultimate Terrain has loaded as it has a (X86) in the drive path - haven't a clue what that means. But there is an opportunity to try a different install - will try that soon.I have absolutely loads more to copy but haven't got my old computer networked to this yet and even then don't know how much stuff I can simply copy over. But the real message here is if I can get this to run easily then anybody can.Bill
  20. Totally embarassed I am. Just found out that I had not inserted the headphone jack fully!!(The mind boggles!!) . It needed one final little push to engage completely. Guess I was being ultra careful with this (to me) expensive computer. All seems well now - no more disconnects and I have had them in and out many times. Also have given the two front USB ports a good workout by constantly plugging and unplugging keyboards. (Maybe I have a funny mind but this post makes me smile as I type it). Now reinstalling FS9 and Add Ons -gee this is going to be a long process. Thanks for your continued help.William
  21. Thanks ChrisWell still not happy. This computer is going back tomorrow again. I start it up, plug in the headphones in the front jack a get a headphone connected message and then within 1 second get a "headphone disconnected" message. Wggling the headphone jack establishes the connection again. Added to this there are two little blue LED's visible on the front of the computer case. One of these LED's is constantly flickering even when watching the start up screen. Now I have watched flickering LED's during disk activity on my other computers but nothing like this. This is only with Windows 7 installed - I have not added even a single document never mind a programme.William
  22. Certainly no lightening and not sure about powersurge but my extension gang is surge protected. This morning I brought comp back to the guys (small business) that built it. They gave it a thorough check and said everything was fine (including sound). The ext HDD itself was undamaged although I need a replacement casing which they are fitting for me. It might have been an awful coincidence. So just about to power up again. Will let you know what happens.WilliamPS -Have just noticed that the user reviews of the Western Digital Ext HDD I am using are not very favourable.
  23. Didn't think that was possible with USB. The headphone socket never worked. Both USB worked briefly, didn't stop working, but caused a problem the next time a connection was being made. The usb plug merely "touched" the female part (without insertion) when the problem occured. I will bring it back tomorrow and see if an explanation is forthcoming.William
  24. Now that I am thinking a little more I know I used the 2 front USB ports and the headphone socket. The USB ports were being used for a Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse detector and the Ext Drive. I then unplugged both (to attach to my other computer) and when I reconnected them to my new computer their inputs may have been switched. It still bugs me that they both did work at first. It was just at the first contact on trying to plug the USB in the second time that the problem occured. Reminded me of a static electricity discharge.William
