  1. Just tried. Does what is says on the tin, there is no way I could do the vancouver (3.0+) cyse fly under a heavy storm at 16 fps I just did with my setup without the software tweaking on the fly LOD and Fiber. Wont buy though, I HATE blurries and the solution applied leads to blurries. I hope a future version will give more flexibility. Rather than "aiming for a fps at all cost" more like "tell me what I can reduce if fps goes under a certain threashold". Then I would agree to have my lod progressively reduced from 5.5 to 2.5 on the fly as it is done as long as it is needed and get some fps back. Also to have 1x1, then 2x2 then 4x4 "dots" not printed etc..But I would not allow for Fiber ajustment, I just HATE blurries. The idea is very good, the soft works, please give flexibility to the users and you will have a buyer. Etienne
  2. Hi, is there a way to autolaunch the software (thru FSUIPC for example ?). Etienne
  3. This is great and Reinhard your support is top notch as usual! Will try and tell you if it works here tonight. (You should probably mention that in the documentation, as I am not probably the only one that this would help) Etienne
  4. Thanks Chris but I was hoping that some arguments could be passed to the apps ans scripted like: @echo off C:\Program Files (x86)\Panel Builder\ButtonMapper2.exe /launch & C:\Program Files (x86)\Panel Builder\FSXconnect.exe /Connect & wait 60 C:\Program Files (x86)\Panel Builder\PanelBuilder.exe /load=C172.dat & etc
  5. Hello, Thanks again for this great app, this is a must, and the more I understand the GPS, the more I like it. Is there a way to launch on a remote pC buttonMapper2, then FSX simconnect interface, then Panel Builder on one click ? I currently 1; launch buttonMapper2, click ok 2 launch FSX simconnect interface, click connect 3 launch Panel Builder click ok so 6 clicks and a lot of mouse dragging. maybe a small .bat file ? Etienne
  6. Hello, Donno if it has been covered before, but I seem to remember that there was a way to launch an app automatically from FSUIPC could this be a good candidate to simplify click management ? The sad thruth is that now the concept has been demonstrated, at least in some instance, one can expect a rush of alternate strategies, and the best candidate to do it would be FSUIPC itself as one option. Etienne
  7. Hello, I wonder if it would be possible to have the "main" payware set as addons (A2A C172, piper; aerosoft twin otter extended robin x, realair legacy lancair..) that all have those funy gauge that need special tratment. Not too sure about the profitability for you though. Keep on the amazing work Etienne
  8. Ok just to confirm the new fuel tank gauge works fine with the Carenado 182 RGII , thanks again. Etienne
  9. Thanks alot what a great support! Will try the new fuel tank this weekend Etienne
  10. Hi, The cesna 182 RGII (carenado) is a fav of the simmers because it is simple and you have fun things like cowl, landing gear and 3 motors level. Overall the 172 cesna range of simPlugins gauges works nicely thanks for that, one thing that would be nice to update would be the 172 2 tank fuel gauge and give an option to change the max currently set a 26. Another simple gauge that would be usefull is the one for the position of the rudder in a float plane. (not sure what they look like, the box style of the flaps would be a way) Finally; not sure it is easy to do without FSUIPC and to be fair I am happy with the directx fsx connection, but a "sim" cockîpt like gauge would be usefull (showing things like FPS (for optimisation), VAS (for OOM monitoring, the one given by FSUIPC), Sim speed multiplier, CPU and GPU temp ?). Maybe an independant addon because as long as P3D hasnt release a 64bits version - one can dream - monitoring those data is sadly also part of fsx simming. Etienne
  11. "By the way, ButtonMapper is now using DirectInput rather than querying the hardware device directly." seems to be the right choice! You still have to find something to do with the bottom left switch of the MFD, I suggested a night (all red) / day option but this is just an idea. Other minor idea: 1.) the "direct to" button should default to the last choice. 2.) Idem for the "info" choice 3.) something on the screen should prompt what level of range is displayed for a short delay after a change of range (like a small x1, x2, etc ) 4.) the aiport info could display the map of the airport (lines of the runways) and the nearby vor/adf etc. Etienne
  12. Hello, just to say a GREAT THANKS for this update of button mapper. 1. it now works fine on my remote PC vista 64b 2. and the GPS is now very responsive to the inputs as I can connect the MFD to the remote PC 3. FSX is smoother as button mapper is no more running on the main PC all in all it is all good! Thanks a lot, really !
  13. well, time for me to upgrade to win 8 I am affraid. As if Bill isnt rich enuf... Etienne
  14. Hello, I was wondering what is the best setup for a full blown Panel + GPS on an independant networked PC. We are talking a fully loaded Panel with 30+ gauge on a dual 1920x1080 screen setup) I am asking because I can feel that my current setup on a vista 64 2Mhz 2Go mem Ati 4000 internal card with 1920x1080 + 1024x600 + mimo 800x600 is a bit strugglying Win 7 SP2 ? Win 8.1 ? 32 bit or 64 bits ? Requested amount of memory ? the more core CPU the better ? (aka does Panel Builder is fully distributed among the cores ?), the more Mhz the better ? (or the simconnect throughput is the bottleneck anyway) what would be a confortable trade of CPU wise? what is a decent video card ? (aka can Panel Builer be GPU limited ? what video card would you advice?) touchscreen or MFD+button mapper for the GPS ? Great Soft! would be nice to have "flight simulator monitoring" Gauges displaying the fps and the VAS usage Etienne
  15. hi reinhard, mind signaling if you ever find a solution for vista? because I would love in my cockpit to have button mapper not running on my ain FSX pc. Etienne
  16. ok finally got it and everything works, regarding the BGR/online map issue my workaround has been to use the standalone GPS which is fine. Great work! Etienne
  17. Hi, ok will try to reload once I am back the button mapper. Regarding the bezel I thought that the new version would have a new switch option that won't display the buttons, my mistake. Regarding the point 3 I noticed that when I installed the v1.2 I did not see a command box setting up some kind of network access (this was there for the v1.1 installation and desinstallation) but this also may come from something totally different as I noticed that the latest patch of explorer did increase some stupid network / internet security barrier, and the lack of access to the internet may come from there. Any suggestion? Happy Xmass. Etienne Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Hi reinharn, Just downloaded the patch 1.2, very nice to see that you incorporated some of my suggestion ! 1 something which isnt clear to me, I now need to assign the SYM GAIN and CON switches in button mapper but where? (I think they are like button 21-28) I am experiencing some issues with the v1.2, 2. The switch bezel doesnt seem to work in the option panel (I can switch off/on the box but the bezel stays on) 3. I have lost access to the Online map service (I never see the BGR switch displayed and the TRK UP option is always there, so I seem to be stuck into the Vector display) Point 2 and 3 may be the same issue, aka the GPS doesnt take into account the option I select eventhough they are displayed and saved; maybe a file from the v1.1 is stuck somewhere and wasnt properly deleted by the uninstaller? A stupid UAccount feature of vista64? Happy xlass, wont have access to my cockpit for a week so dont be surprised if you dont get a quick answer to your answer. Regards, Etienne
  19. Hi The best addon at the moment is France VFR Alsace 3DA period. (with the additionnal freewares who go with it). Nothing gets anywhere close in terms of realism and skope, it is REALLY miles aways from anything that has been done so far. This is a bit long to explain, but simply put, every single building is represented with its current shape, color, size, idem for lampost, electric lines, type of forest and everything is photoreal etc... Hard to describe. Forget the REX/Orbx hype (which is very good for the PNW stuff) and just try it. Etienne
  20. Hello,Thanks for the nice review of FVFR Lilles + NPC, I fully agree with you and I really enjoy those 2 sceneries.I would have completed the review with the fact that one can add - the "http://www.volvfr.fr/" obstacles et reperes france vfr, which adds tons of stuff to every FVFR scenes and has become a must addon. (like the high power lines, water towers, churches etc). It really does improve FVFR Britany, Alsace and NPC by a lot.- that a lot of freeware stuff is aviable to complete the scenary (the best is here: http://slovene73.perso.sfr.fr/Accueil.2.html )Still thx for the nice review. Etien
  21. Hello,I just bought a Pro Flight Instrument Panel which is sort of a nice goody as it is totally programable. I therefore did some toying around and now I have some really cool gauges. My problem is the following:I connect the 'PFIP' to my main PC via an USB port running FSX / Vista 32, no problesm, the new gauge is working etcI connect the 'PFIP' to my laptop PC via an USB port running FSX / Vista 64, no problesm, the new gauge is working etcI use the following setup:Main PC is running FSX + hardware (yoke, rudders etc)remote PC is running the cockpit based on GA panel, GA Radio, FSMap (and I would hope PFIP, more on that)The GA panel, GA Radio, FSMap setup works nicelly. GA Panel & Radio use FSUICP 4.3 + WideFS, FSMAp preinstall a version of Simconnect that works [version 10.0.61259.0, so the SP2 one]. (just need to update the 2 .xml files etc)Now comes my issue: PFIP is supposed to be able to connect through SimConnect. aka running on the laptop/cockpit PC with FSX on the Main PC. It just doesnt seem to get the connection right and just freeze.I read a bit this forum and realise there are 3 differents version of SimConnect and that Vista64 is a pain in the butt. I am also worried to break the current setup (aka FSMap/SimConnect). What would you suggest?
  22. regarding point 4. thought I had the same problem but not1) make sure you have all the clearance to take off before you do2) once flying, go to your first way point, eventually the simulator realized you are there and everything then works fine.
  23. could it be bkg.bmp ? I am surprised nobody has the same issue than me on that one.
