  1. I noticed the same thing but I leave the box unchecked. The real 744 TCAS will only show traffic in conflict with the aircraft.
  2. Check the MCP and make sure the Disengage bar is up... Also ensure the F/D and A/T are armed.
  3. Yes the 744 is one of the most complex aircraft in MSFS...For the approach VREF you select that in the FMC INIT REF page..Also within 25nm from the IAF make sure the ILS frequency is active and displaying on the EADI... You can check this by the FMC's nav radio page. Not to sound like a broken record here but it is best to read the manual and follow the tutorial flights step by step.
  4. With a heavy loaded 744 CLB 1 will give you a V/S of around 600FPM while accelerating to the minimum clean speed. The only way you will get CLB 1 is if you select it in the FMC. With a fully loaded 744 you should be using full takeoff and full climb power.Arm VNAV before you takeoff and when the nose pitches down after 1000FT AGL start retracting the flaps. You should be clean by the time you cross 3000FT MSA.EDIT: Sometimes a 747 is exempt from altitude and speed restrictions due to weight. If youre flying on VATSIM or even Radar Contact you can ask ATC to clear any restrictions simply because the 747 can't safely fly them.I'm not saying ignore the restrictions, but do your best to comply. Safety of the aircraft is always the number 1 concern.
  5. I believe it can happen in the real world and the best thing to do would be to fly higher. The higher the altitude, the lower the SAT. Check your VNAV cruise page of the FMC and step climb to your optimal altitude if you need to. If your pitch is to high it could be weather related or speed related.
  6. On the next flight try changing the CI ( cost index ) to 80.Or you could use speed interviene to speed up and bring the nose of the aircraft down.
  7. 1) what is being displayed as the active autopilot modes on the EADI? 2) Check your joystick configuration ( this might be a rudder issue). To confirm if its a rudder issue check the STAT on the ECAS.Youll want the rudder to be straight.
  8. Ok gents heres what I usually do:Check the FMC progress page 1 and get your ETA to the destination. Bring up the clock and subtract the time the clock says from the ETA to your destination.Lets say you have 8 hours to go. Subtract 1 hour from that to allow for the descent and theres how much sleep you get.
  9. When you select the aircraft youll see a window twards the bottom that will have a tail number on it. Click on "change" and select your airliner name and flight number.
  10. And don't forget the teeth marks on the MCP from doing CAT3 ILS approaches :-badteeth.
  11. Looks like that might be weather turbulance. You can disable it via the active sky main menu or you can make some changes to FSUIPC if you have the full version.
  12. Yup same here.... Opened my email and got the message my credit card has been waiting on for a while.
  13. Go to Terminal Procedures/PMDG/Download. The EXE file will self extract into your PMDG navdata folder. Yes it is for the US, UK, Ireland & Scotland. That should clear up the "Not in Database" as long as the airport is in the navdata folder.
  14. Hi Bob, Have you tried getting the AIRAC procedures from here:http://planepath.com/
  15. You could try a couple of things:Go to Start, then Run - type PREFETCH and hit enter. Select all the items in the window and delete them.Under the Accesories/System Tools menu run the disk cleaner and clean all of your drives.Delete any unused internet files using the Tools - Internet Options.Empty the Recycle bin. Finally Defrag the system. That should free up some space.EDIT: You might also want to consider buying a new internal hard drive. You can get at least a 40 gig for around 30 dollars. Put windows in one drive and put MSFS and all of your addons in the other drive ( they can eat up alot of memory ).
  16. Thank you I just got the key request and I'm doing my first flight. So far I love it!!! No more 5,000,000 ATC handoffs, etc. Why didint I get this a while ago..... Thx for this product!
  17. Hi fellow simmers, I just bought this product and I was wondering how long does it take to get the registration key emailed to you. Thx.
  18. Makes me wonder if she or anyone in the news room has MSFS with the PMDG 744. LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL
  19. Looking at all of these MD-11 photos makes me feel like Homer Simpson at a Doughnut Shop :-yellow1.Great looking plane.
  20. 1) What are you setting your takeoff trim to?2) What is the speed you have displayed on the MCP and what speed is the EADI indicating when you engage the A/T? Also are you setting the TO thrust on the ground by clicking on the screw on the MCP?If you could post a screenshot of the 2d panel I'd appreciate it. That would make it alot easier to see exactly what your plane is doing.
  21. I agree with Chris, my FPS also drops when running the 744. Are you running the virtual cockpit? Try the 2D. I usually get around 15-25FPS.
  22. >Kevin,>>Faces are already in place and this time it is not>Science-Fiction :)>>MarkusYeah I can remember when I first saw those faces.... I laughed so hard I almost fell off of my chair.
  23. I saw a post earlier that PMDG was looking for faces to put on the MD-11.I was thinking that since you went with the Enterprise crew with the 737 ( which I thought was funny ) that you should do the same with the MD-11. Kirk as the captain and maybe Sulu as the FO.Just a thought.
  24. Ok I reread your post.... Try putting in the departure runway first and then put in the route.
