  1. Did this happen during or before the TCAS test? Did it stay the same after the TCAS test?Have you tried pressing the "B" key to reset it or did you try it manually? Were the other two Altimeters reading the normal 29.92?Also try putting a departure/arrival airport in the FMC or manually put in the TDZE.
  2. Yes it does change frequently. It changes based on the Pitch attitude of the aircraft and the MCP altitude. Any climb/descend mode youre in youll see the Arc.
  3. As you may or may not know the ND serves as a situational display to the pilot. With that said, when you change the altitude on the MCP and the aircraft starts to climb or descend the Green Arc is a point along the route at which the plane will reach the targeted altitude. As you gain more experience flying the 737/747 you can use the Green Arc to your advantage. As Kim said, its very usefull on the descent phase of flight and during non-presision approaches.
  4. I think the Slats are extended once Flaps are retracted to 1. The Flaps are also fully retracted at 1. That would explain the odd movement. Flaps in at 1 Slats out. Next time youre at the gate extend the Flaps to 1. The Flaps don't move but the Slats do. When Flaps are extended to 5 then the Flaps move and the Slats retract. Its rather cool to watch. When Flaps are extended to 10 all leading Edge Flaps extend. This is why it takes so long for Flaps to extend from 0 to 10 and retract from 10 to 0.As far as the c++ files go I think those DLL's are required for some systems to run on the 747.
  5. Generally speaking, yes most carriers would fill that badboy up with as much as possible and not to exceed the max takeoff weight. With the 744F most flights are international so they require more fuel than cargo.Good numbers to use would be from 90,000LBS to 130,000LBS of cargo weight.
  6. Same here... LOL. I have to sit for a minute and say to myself " Does this plane use the right mouse button??? ".As far as the AOA 747 video goes, its great. Well worth the money.A good buy for newbies and vetrans.
  7. What is your TOW? If you are experiencing high climb rates try D-Rating the climb to climb 1 or 2. This can be done in the Thrust Ref page. Also try lowering the CI to about 70.You mentioned cycling the A/T on and off solves this, are you engaging TO/GA on the ground by clicking on the screw next to the A/T?PS: When youre in LNAV you don't need to worry about the Heading. That should be in the FMC.
  8. The 747's FMC woulnt let you go to 9999. I think the highest is 250.A CI of 80-100 will operate at normal speeds at given altitudes. There isint that much difference between a CI of 150 to 250 being that VNAV and the FMC will not operate the plane pass its limits. Most of the time CI is based on SOP's ( standard operating procedures ) for airliners. One of the VA's I fly for wants a CI of 20. The other is 40. If im not flying a company route Ill use a CI of 80.
  9. FYI R/W procedures clearence will tell you to push and start at your discrection. Then after pushback and youre ready to taxi, you would contact ground.try one more flight with default ATC and watch the AI planes closely. They will push and start, then ask for taxi clearance.
  10. With the A/T disarmed, it should let you go pass the Green Band indicated on the Upper Eicas N1. You may have to pull the thrust lever Aft a little and then back to full thrust. On the overhead panel go to the Engine mode selectors. Working Engine set the Thrust to CON. The other set to OFF.
  11. 1) The Aileron position can be viewed on the lower EICAS by pressing the STAT button. The Trim position can be viewed on the Throttle Quadrant on the upper left hand side.2)Normally Ill start the engines from the 2D panel or VC and Ive never had any sound issues. Perhaps try reinstalling?3) I run a 22" wide screen monitor using a screen resolution of 1600x1200. No issues to report.
  12. You would be correct, the A/T would have to be switched to on. Also you should turn on the F/D ( Flight Director ). In addition while on the ground you have to engage TO/GA by clicking on the screw next to the A/T so the PFD indicates N1.In the air click on speed.
  13. Off. Espically like Chris said when flying with AI traffic...... YIKES!!!!!
  14. The only command I can think of is "Glideslope..... Pull Up".But you would rarely get this command if using the autopilot.Another possibility would be "Terrain....Pull Up".But only on a rare case you would get this on final. You also might get a "Don't Sink" warning on final if you descend to fast.Every modern Boeing Jet comes equipped with a Radio Altimeter ( the altitude callouts you hear when below 2500FT AGL ) and GPWS ( Ground Proximity Warning System ). As mentioned above you should take the time to read through the manual to find out what these callouts mean, etc.
  15. I havent noticed it but then again I rarely use the Dome light for preflight. The Panel, Overhead and Floor glareshield lights are what I use.
  16. I use Auslogics Disk defrag. Just to throw my 2 cents in ;).
  17. Hi,Do you have the fraquency tuned to both Nav radios? Both main autopilots selected?
  18. >Thank you Kevin and Rick. Nice of you to post your>appreciation.>>Enjoy your flights! :-wave Youre welcome... Great products and support deserve recognition.
  19. If you look on the bottom right of the altitude tape youll see the message " NO TDZ ". Meaning no touch down zone.To fix this select a departure runway or go to the overhead panel to the Manual Landing Altitude Select Mode and put it in manual mode. Then use the knob below to set the TDZ.
  20. With the default planes the L key will turn on every light. I think it just turns on the exterior lights on the PMDG 744.
  21. I get this issue once in a while at cruise level.Exit VNAV by pressing ALT HLD. Then press the SPEED command so the PFD indicates SPD. You should be able to go back to VNAV.
  22. Hi,Ive had the 744 and the 744F for a while and I placed the EXE files in a DVD and you can reinstall them anytime you need to if you remember your email, order ID and password. Its also a good idea to do this with every MSFS addon you have if you don't have the CD version.
  23. I must say Ive been thinking about getting this program for a long time and I finally broke down and bought it a few weeks ago. This is simply amazing! Gone are the days with default ATC.. I can't imagine why any simmer who likes to keep simming as real as possible would not get this program.I am truly impressed with the realism of this product. I should have bought RC the day it was released...Once again thank you.... Greatly appreciated. :-beerchug
  24. Don't use the FS9 flight planner... Its bad news.Instead let FSbuild export the flight plan into the " my documents/Flight Simulator" folder.Start FS9 and load up the plane at your departure airport ( don't use the flight planner ). Once loaded at the gate press the ALT key to bring up the drop down menu. On the far left go to Flights, then flight planner. Click on load and import the plan. When it askes you to load at the departure ( Nancy Regan said it best ) just say no.Alt Tab out of Flight Sim.Start Radar Contact and import the flight plan. It should work then.
