  1. Check out this channel on Youtube. If you pay attention, you can see how things are done. Very informative to the watchful eye. https://www.youtube.com/user/My737Channel/videos
  2. I had the click spot problem at first too. The solution for me was the same for solving the black screen. By starting P3Dv2 in WINDOWED mode and NOT full screen, both problems vanished for me. Barry C.
  3. Well, guess I'll have to live with it then. Thanks for the help.
  4. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using P3D, but I've looked at both the FSX, and P3D configs, and cannot find this setting. Only one I see is for True and Indicated airspeed.
  5. Maybe someone can help me out. I want to switch the DG, and RMI in the 737-200, to indicate TRUE heading while flying in Northern Domestic Airspace. I checked the manuals, but have not found a way to adjust this. The aircraft will always show magnetic heading. Thanks, and great plane by the way. Absolutely loving it. Barry C.
  6. Yep, I can comfirm this. My barber pole is not moving eigther.
  7. Hi All I've seen that cost index list on another forum as well. There was some updates to it on that forum that changed the cost index used, from supposed reliable sources. The one example I can recall was that SWA uses a cost index of 20 now instead of the higher one above. I've also heard that WJA is using between 15 and 20 now. One thing I did come across was a print out of a real Westjet flightplan which detailed the use of a cost index of 19, BUT to manually enter 280kts for climb and 270kts for decent. I'm not an airline pilot, but for me everyting points to entering the cost index the airline is using and, MANUALLY change the climb/decent speeds if you are required to meet a crossing restriction. So if my cost index gives me a decent speed of 270, and I'm flying the SADDE6 into LAX, I'll enter 280 for decent speed to meet the 280kts/12000ft SYMON restriction but retain the original cost index. Thats how I do it anyway and I think thats probably how it's done in the real world as well. Just my thoughts, thanx. Barry Cunningham
  8. Hey all. Just signed up and completed my first flight. I looked at Virtual Westjet when the iFly 737 came out but delayed signing up till PMDG released this FANTASTIC aircraft. I'm hoping with this new interest in the VA, it will grow into something great. Hope to see you Westjetters in the virtual skies. Barry CWJA2399.
  9. I had this issue at first. My Condition Levers were in Feather/Cutoff. Make sure you have the condition levers in Ground/Taxi position. This prevented the props from returning to the feathered position once the Start Lock Pumps were used.Worked for me, hope it helps you too. :(
  10. ATC

Barry1976 replied to waleed's topic in PMDG General Forum
Not unlike you waleed, I too was looking to find a good ATC program. I started with RCv4 and liked it but the voices began to annoy me, too robotic. Then I purchased PFE (with the voicepack addon) and never looked back at RCv4. The PFE interface is more complex than RCv4 and takes longer to get set up and flying but for me its a small price to pay for great simulated ATC. This being said, I'm not bashing RCv4 but I do belive PFE is a more superior product as the sound is far superior as well as it has the ground handling aspect (something I'm sure will be incorporated in RCv5). All I'm saying is that if I were to chose one ATC program, PFE would be it, hands down. For about the past few months however, I've been flying only on VATSIM. It is true that at times you will have no ATC available, but that doesn't mean there is no traffic. It can get pretty busy typing on the unicom frequency to organize your approach with other VATSIM pilots flying into the same airport. If you've never tried VATSIM, I encourage you to give it a try. Depending on your knowledge of flying with real world ATC there is a bit of a learning curve. But when ATC is present, it is as close to REAL as you can get in Flightsim. As a fellow Flightsimmer, I just wanted to add my 2 cents, having experience with RCv4, PFE, and VATSIM. Hope this helps.Barry.
  11. Not sure if this info will help but I experienced the temp bug today as well and it seemed to occur during the automatic thermal generation.Sorry if this has been noted before.Barry
