  1. This is interesting as I am also looking to buy a new laptop to run my flight simulators. It would be an MSI GT72 with the 5700HQ and the 970M. I was wondering what sort of frame rates you get on your system with P3D and FSXSE, what settings you use on those sims, and whether you use complex aircraft (eg PMDG) and scenery? Also, do you run IL2 Cliffs of Dover or Battle of Stalingrad? Cheers, Justin
  2. Well I just fixed this by running windows update and updating the Microsoft .NET framework. The 777 has been activated and the ops centre works fine. Regards, Justin
  3. DeltaMD11, have you had any success yet? Justin
  4. I have also disabled windows firewall and uninstalled norton. I also cannot download the list of liveries. Can't seem to connect to the pmdg servers at all Justin
  5. Yes, same problem here! I don't think it's a problem on my end either. Justin
  6. Seems to be very FPS friendly! This looks to be a masterpiece.
  7. I get the landing gear issue with 0.6 too - didn't have it with the earlier versions. It's a shame because I have been really enjoying this product even though it is not complete.
  8. I agree that a developer like FSdreamteam or Gary Summons could make YSSY with great frames - no question! However, I don't think ORBX would be capable of that - their development techniques result in nice looking, but relatively poor performing airports. They've copped a fair bit of criticism over that, and I think this is one of the main reasons why they ditched the large airport market.
  9. Will it be set only in Hawaii... with the possibility of an Alaskan sequel?
  10. This is my consistent with my experience using REX Essential and ASE. The REXE weather engine causes me noticeable slow down during weather injections. REXE also takes a long time to download and process weather from the database on startup. On the other hand, I do not notice any performance cost using ASE. As a result, I use ASE for my weather engine and REXE for my textures.
  11. I just wanted to pass on my thanks to PMDG for the performance optimisations of the NGX in SP1. Pre-SP1 it was a relatively hard-hitting aircraft performance-wise, with all those high res textures, displays and VC model. Post-SP1 the NGX, with lower resolution options selected, performs as smooth as butter on my modest system, with almost no stuttering, minimal (if any) mouse-lag, and smooth frame rates.I tip my hat to PMDG for taking on customer feedback and making these performance improvements. Many developers take the view that poor performance is the customer's problem and that we should simply purchase better hardware. That view is unhelpful and, in my opinion, tends to alienate a lot of customers. You guys obviously do not have that approach, and I applaud you for that. Given the complexity of the product, I think that the NGX is possibly the most optimised, best performing complex addon aircraft that I own. If your future products are similarly optimised and give us the option of scaling texture and model detail to suit our systems, I will not hesitate to purchase them. Many thanks again from a very, very satisfied customer.Regards,Justin J.
  12. Have you removed the chocks? Regards,Justin
  13. Yes, it's frustrating to have the product installed but not be able to activate it. Makes me resent online activation even more..... Justin
  14. In light of the appalling attacks on PMDG's e-commerce infrastructure, it seems to me that they've been punished somewhat for announcing the release date and giving these criminals the opportunity to plan the attacks. It's such a shame that PMDG has to be punished for its transparency and willingness to please it's customer's by giving us advance notice of the release. I don't think we can be critical of PMDG if they never announce a release date in advance again. We all lose as a result of this.... Justin
  15. How much of mouse pointer hit do you get William? Justin
