Mis-Aligned Airport KSMF
I've always had trouble flying the ILS Rwy 16R approach at stock KSMF. It always brings me in way to the left and isn't flyable whatsoever. Perhaps related?

ANY BLACK FRIDAY SALES SPOTTED
Doesn't look like AoA was ready for that. I put my info in right at 12:00 for the 737 program and it hit the buy button. Never saw another page on that site load for a couple hours after that. So who knew if my Credit Card info actually went through or not. I wasn't about to try to hit the refresh button and risk my card being charged a dozen times. Not very happy about that one at all. Thanks for nothing AoA.

ANY BLACK FRIDAY SALES SPOTTED
30% off both of Flightbeam's products. (KSFO and KPHX). Given the high fidelity of KPHX and the fact that it was only recently released, this is an awesome chance to grab this great airport.

Running 2 computers for FSX
I love this guy. And I thought I was the only FS user who liked to stream MKVs while at cruise I've noticed that VATSIM apps like FSInn don't perform quite as well on a separate system connected via WIFI. Sometimes the voice trips up a bit. Otherwise I've never had any problems running all of these apps on a separate networked computer on any sort of network setup.

OPUSFSX : Stay away?
Oh for heaven's sake. The guy posted on a public forum about his experience, there's nothing wrong with that. And once again, more and more propaganda.

OPUSFSX : Stay away?
I've seen some things that look appealing, especially the fog simulation. That would be really neat if you could actually fly a realistic looking 0/0 approach on auto-land. But it's the winds aloft that gets me. AS2012 has everything I need to slam in to my NGX, and I don't want to part with that just yet.

OPUSFSX : Stay away?
I haven't posted much, over the years of following several threads on these forums. I have been following the few threads on AVSIM related to this OpusFSX product and have noticed a few things that I find to be a bit peculiar. First, there seem to be VERY few posts of anyone saying anything other than something along the lines of "The product is revolutionary and they have great support" to paraphrase. Almost every post seems to say something similar to this. It's a bit fishy to me, really. I also balk at the phraseology they use on their website, often describing the experience of using their product as 'perfect'. This seems seriously misleading, which gives me a bit of an impression that almost everything i hear from this company and about this company is purely propaganda. Couple that with a less than professional looking website and hardly adequate 10 minute demo, and I just don't know how to feel about any of this. There have been other skeptics offering advice and suggestion who have been received in a less than professional manner. Someone suggested they split some of the features like the wx engine and the camera system and OPUS basically laughed at them and went on to describe how their price couldn't possibly be lower priced (with no explanation) and joked that they could simply charge $40 for each feature instead. I don't see this as being superior support at all. So what is someone like myself (a potentially interested shopper) supposed to make of this? I can understand aceridgey's frustration, because when he posed an issue (regardless of the tone involded), they simply brushed his issue off and went on to talk about how alledgedly thousands have had nothing but positive things to say, then followed by how their product is the best. It's hard to swallow. It doesn't make sense. The propaganda is what really bothers me, and maybe it has something to do with the current election season here in the US, where I'm absolutely fed up with talk and hype. Aceridgey came to them with a real problem, and a real concern, and all he got back was grief and hype. That, to me, is more telling than any rhetoric about tonality and intent in one's posts. We need to be smart consumers and take these things in to account. I'm not siding with anyone here. I'm just saying it smells fishy to me.

Loading Previous Flight State
Hey gang, I've gone a bit crazy and can't seem to remember how to set the NGX to automatically load the previous flight's panel state by default. I don't see any options available to do this in the CDU menus. Can anyone be awesome and rehash my memory for me?

Throttles Unresponsive after Engine Start
A couple of days ago I started having this problem. While following the checklists and starting everything up normally, the engines spool up but once you release the brake and throttle forward to taxi, nothing happens. The thrust levers are moving in the VC, but N1 stays locked around 20% and never budges. EGT remains around 390. What's going on here? This began happening without any sort of modifications whatsoever. I'm using a Saitek Cyborg joystick that hasn't changed in the last few years. I did a complete reinstall of FSX and all addons. Still the same problem. I will say this, there is one thing I have changed. Until a few days ago, I did the majority of my flying with the American Airlines livery. I have joined a Delta virtual airline and began using the Delta livery (downloaded from the PMDG site). Now I seem to be having these issues. Not sure if it's related to this at all. Anyone with any input?

How did this make it out of testing?
What is the difference between the 970 and the 920? Aren't they both comparable in terms of how they can be overclocked? I figured that only the i7 2500 or 2600 would be any different. And suggesting that I spend $600-$750 to upgrade and STILL be stuck with a 9800 GTX GPU is not too cool. I would say sure if you are willing to flip the bill.

How did this make it out of testing?
I'm plenty stoked about this airplane. Working in aviation, it is an absolute thrill to get to sit down in the virtual cockpits that PMDG makes. Just honestly, getting it fired up at KSFO (my home airport), and seeing 8fps was a slap in the face. Maybe I wasn't ready to admit that my video card is crap. Honestly, I remember when the 9800gtx came out... it felt like the 200s came out the next week. The 9800s weren't around long before the new tech came around. Video ram being an issue makes sense, as I do notice it takes FSX a good while to actually load the textures in the VC. I'm left with a nice view of the VC model but the standard grey in lieu of textures. Now I just need to decide if the 580gtx is 2.5 times better than the 560, because that's what the price difference is. I hate to make these matters about money, but video cards are seriously expensive.

How did this make it out of testing?
Any input on my hard drive inquiry? I have the Corsair F120 SSD with Win 7 64-bit and FSX on it, plus a velociraptor 300gb drive. How should I divy those up?

I am looking into the 560. Not too happy about having to shell out more moola... but I will do what I must in the name of flying. The i7 is already OC'ed to 3.99 ghz.

Is a 560 GTX "good enough"? Though? Sounds like something that will need to be replaced in a year.
