October 2, 201114 yr A couple of days ago I started having this problem. While following the checklists and starting everything up normally, the engines spool up but once you release the brake and throttle forward to taxi, nothing happens. The thrust levers are moving in the VC, but N1 stays locked around 20% and never budges. EGT remains around 390. What's going on here? This began happening without any sort of modifications whatsoever. I'm using a Saitek Cyborg joystick that hasn't changed in the last few years. I did a complete reinstall of FSX and all addons. Still the same problem. I will say this, there is one thing I have changed. Until a few days ago, I did the majority of my flying with the American Airlines livery. I have joined a Delta virtual airline and began using the Delta livery (downloaded from the PMDG site). Now I seem to be having these issues. Not sure if it's related to this at all. Anyone with any input? Chris Virgilio
October 2, 201114 yr I also had this exact same problem, but only with the No1 engine. Throttles moved in the VC, but no response at all. I shut down & restarted the engine and it was fine. Not sure what happened and would love to know why it did. Signed: Neil Keane
October 3, 201114 yr I had this issue once, and wasn't able to replicate it. I have absolutely no idea what caused it. Cristi Neagu
October 3, 201114 yr i have this problem all the time - I usually refresh the a/c (ctrl_shit_r I think it is) before starting the engines, which seems to fix it. no idea why it does that but give it a try J Thomas YBBN
October 3, 201114 yr I had this problem a few times. I believe it is FSUIPC. Especially if you have anything assigned in there. Sometimes I have to unplug my X52 Pro before loading up the NGX cause if I dont it will sometimes crash if they are plugged in. If you ever do this and have options assigned in FSUIPC it will throw it off. The solution is to go into FSUIPC one time before start up. Check your buttons are working, and do not assign anything via Axis as it is not recommended. For the Calibration part of FSUIPC click reset on all the buttons so your sure none of them are assigned, especially the throttle. If at all possible just assign buttons with FSUIPC and nothing else. No AXIS or CALIBRATION as this seems to cause a conflict because everything is done through Simconnect with the NGX.Having buttons assigned through FSUIPC does not seem to cause any problems though. In short whenever I load up FSUIPC even if I do not change anything, simply opening it up and then exiting seems to fix whatever engine issue I was having. In my case engines. (I think by opening and exiting it causes FSUIPC to Refresh itself and your stored settings). I did have another issue once where only one engine would power up when I hit the throtttles even though both were on. The solution for me was to open Virtual Cockpit and press the button on the side of the Throttle Handles and that synched them back up again. Paul Deemer
October 3, 201114 yr i have this problem all the time - I usually refresh the a/c (ctrl_shit_r I think it is) before starting the engines, which seems to fix it. no idea why it does that but give it a tryI had odd little bugs happen when changing liverys with fmc though not engines. WTE, where can I find a list of all the possible ctrl_shift type commands for fsx? Like for example I never knew there was a refresh a/c command. Thanks!
November 11, 201114 yr In flight right now and before i took off i had the same problem. pushback started right engine first, -no problems right up to 21.7 N1, start valve went off procedure same as for engine No.1 but this time N1 reaches 20.4 or so, and it will not spool up. midflight i decided to try something. Packs L&R--OFF Iso Valve--Auto Bleed Air 1&2--OFF ENG 1 Switch--FLT ENG 1 Throttle--IDLE FUEL--ON ENG 1 after that engine 1 up and running increase throttle to same as no 2 and hit A/T Arm.
January 16, 201214 yr Hmmm... this seems to hit a familiar note.I recently added a post to this forum describing the selfsame thing.Could it be a mx of SP1b and the Delta livery? Will try this weekend and update you guys on how I fare. What I have in common is the exact behavior.Engines are started... pushing the trhrottles to taxi... The quadrant displays forward movement, but no spooling on n1, n2 nor any egt. Also no revving sound. The bird remains toally static... and I also have the Delta livery. Flying might not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price. - Amelia Earhart
January 16, 201214 yr I used to have this problem every flight. My fix was to start FSX with the default flight; the unltralight. I know the manual says you don't need to do this, but I have proven that it makes a difference. I've never had a problem since. Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist
