  1. @700200lrf nice shots Now you mentioned your concern for oom, and since you're on dx9, are you running Flytampa Kai Tak as well when you departed Chep Lap Kok? Considering all the addons you were running sounds like you were in the green zone and your settings are smack bang on the right spot. I am still on the fence with getting Taxi2gate Chep Lap Kok, since I've had only bad experiences at the start with KMCO. But searching around, even with KSEA, overall it seems ok. Just wanted to know how it is in terms of ooms, together with Fly Tampa Kai Tak, leaving Hong Kong and approaching if there are any issues? Cheers
  2. Yes! Now you mentioned that, that will be something to look forward to. This certain company even put up a livestream on youtube, looks really promising indeed! It's been in the works since 2012 apparently. Anyway, that'll be the closest thing in a mini form of the MD-11 anyway.
  3. Would be nice to have an official poll, within a reasonable time frame so the simming community can really answer what they like and developers can use that as a good guage. But saying that, we were pretty much wanting a 777 in our virtual hangers. Luckily I still have my digital copy of the Three Holer, really tempted to put it back on fsx. Those faster vref speeds really got my concentration levels up
  4. Came across this error yesterday. Had a look on the nvidia forums, and turns out GeForce Experience is the culprit of all this. The automatic update must have configured our settings without our consent. So what I did was uninstalled GeForce experience, and reinstalled my drivers then it was up and running. If you want to keep Geforce Experience, then just make sure the "automatic update" is unchecked so this won't happen again. But if in doubt, reinstall your drivers and you should be good to go. 5. None of your are lone wolfs out there. I have been suffering from this odd "bug" for just over a week. I remember downloading the latest installers from my PMDG account around the 15th April, to get the NGX up to date. Since then, even with my 777, the OC cannot determine that I have the latest versions of both products (which clearly I have since they are fresh installers). I am not able to download any liveries at all anymore. My OC is the latest one since that was shipped with the NGX installer 1.14.3 is the latest I have so far. Unless any of you guys with the OC (proper) have had numerous downloads which I haven't been able to get at all. Even if I run the updater.exe manuall (righ-click run as admin as well) it says upto date, and I also even tried that with the 777 fresh installer with the OC 1.12 shipped, and that still said "upto date" when clearly it wasn't. That experiment kind of made me wonder could it be my internet or firewalls etc? Clearly not, since everything else on my PC is running fine. FSX was running perfectly fine, the PMDG aircraft were fine, just no more liveries to download or any updates from the OC couldn't be downloaded anymore. I even had a PMDG mechanic tool sent through by Ryan, but sadly even that didn't work. I have also just done a complete fresh install of FSX, deleting the registry and that hasn't solved the problem. For now I can only blame my installers could be bugged? But we all get the most updated installers from our PMDG account. If anybody else out there has come across the same or similar problem, it would be great to get some advice, until I get a reply on my support ticket. Currently I have nothing else installed on FSX but the PMDG NGX. Mykel Talab
  6. I can confirm in my experience with this scenary of Guam, I am also having massive dip in FPS with both v3 and v4. While stationary on the ground FPS in the PMDG 777 is 23-27. Then once I get moving, especially facing West, the FPS dips to 7. While in the air it doesn't go any higher for me topping 15fps. Then once I am about 15NM away from PGUM FPS resumes normally around 40-45. Turn back towards PGUM and it's the same slide show. I've tried all my other FSDT scenaries, Hong Kong together with Imagine Sims VHHH, and Flytampa Kai Tak. It's all running ok, and that's with the PMDG 777. It's a real shame. The developers seem to have made a good effort in making a very handsome looking PGUM scenery; clearly in terms of performance it may differ on an individual basis. Running i53570K, overclocked at 4.3 GHZ, GTX 660. I rarely have an OOM since I only run Dep and Arr sceneries. No global texture/landclass addons. I hope there is a walk around in the future, but hey what can you expect from a free product. Still would be nice what others have done to resolve this. Many thanks.
  7. May I add, I have only invested in a computer especially to cater for FSX for the seable future. Like you mentioned earlier, I myself have also spent the ££ and $$ on numerous scenarys and addon aircraft for FS9. Lucky enough I did spent my cash tactically, to and extent, knowing that eventually I would jump onto FSX one day. That day has come last week. Roughly 40% of my FS9 addons are FSX&FS9 combo packs, so that always is a bonus. In terms of performance, I am getting 25-30/35 FPS in VC over extremely dense areas with the PMDG NGX. I personally think tweaking your FSX cfg does work wonders. Another point to make is also having a look at Aircraft addon developers, some are still catering for FS9, as well as addon scenery developers. I still love FS9, but I am one of those who is embracing the future of Flight Sim. Who knows, maybe X-plane will over take FSX in another 10 years or so.
