  1. yup yup, make sure you are running both in the same units. wether it is KG or LBS. And i do videos on request from time to time so.... why not. I've seen many people talking about this on this forum so thats why i did this one.
  2. Hi Ed,I really don't understand what you are missing here. a quick recap:1- Modify the weights values of your "FSB_aircraft.cfg" (weights are in LBS)2- Modify Topcat values of the weight summary section ( the values in the video are in Kg)Thats it ! Thats what i'm using AAAAALL THE TIME, so you must have missed something. However in the video:- Topcat TOW was: 62638 KG- FSBuild TOW was: 62614 KGThey are the same . Difference is only 24 kg !!! even if there was 100 KG difference, it wouldn't change anything ! Thats not how you should see performances. Furthermore if you set the values the way i did it difference between Topcat and FSBuild will never exceed 100KG.Let me know if you have any difficulty.
  3. Guys, thx for the kind words, If you like the video, then i'm satisfied. Concerning the datas, its very simple: They are shown in the beginning of the video, pay attention. Just "Pause" the video when they are shown: Actually i started with that, because thats the key to get accurate Performances calculations and good "fuel" predictions. Let me know if you feel lost about anything !
  4. Huh... i do not understand. in the tutorial, i used the 738 datas from topcat and modified the values in the weight summary section.
  5. Hi Captains,I have spent an important part of the day trying to put together a video for those of you having troubles preparing their flight or who just don't have an example of how to do it. I know a lot of experimented captains will read this and find it useless, however, you have to understand that there always is someone having less knowledge then you. Everytime i think about an interesting idea that may help some fellow captains in this community i just go for it. " days ago i talked with someone saying that he would be very very interested in a tutorial like this so i just did.... Furthermore i often see people asking questions about fuel planning, route planning, using several software such as FSBuild, TOPCAT etc......So here is my method, Its not absolutely perfect, and of course its not the only one ! Let me say it again : Thats just my method ! (saying this because i know some like criticizing without reasons). I remember Ryan and Dr. Vaos saying that the FMC was the best fuel calculator that one could have but since its not like that in RW ops i just don't do that, even if they are absolutely right when saying that. "Simulation" means what it means so if you want to operate the 737 and stick to the reality as much as possible i think this tuto may help you. And remember: A well prepared navigation, is a successful flight ! Enjoy captains.PS: I would like to apologize in advance for two things. First of all my mic is getting old so the sound quality is not perfect and second , english is not my first language so please be indulgent.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5GgfGgzf8s&feature=g-upl&context=G236b032AUAAAAAAAAAA
  6. exactly !Guys i'm doin a tutorial vid right now and should be up before the end of the day .
  7. Alright, what I'm gonna do is a flight from GQNN to GOOY, which is region that i know very well and where temps are above STD but i can't guarantee for the QNH . I'll do that tomorrow morning. It'll include full prep (not talking about the cockpit prep): with TOPCAT AS2012 EFB FSbuild.
  8. Hi my friend,I'd be glad to help you. What i need to know is:What would you like to see in the video that you can't reproduce at home. (differences between what topcat calculates and what you get in the cockpit right ? anything else?)
  9. If many people ask for a tutorial i may do a video about it in the next hours. I use Topcat all the time and always get the same values.
  10. Self build is the Best option! Believe me! Watch my last vid on my sig, its the NGX at 4.9Gigs . If interested in getting a similar rig, PM me.
  11. Hahaha ! I've been saying this for a looooooong time. WINDOWED MODE. It has just changed my fsx experience. No crash in several months, matter fact no more crash. Whereas constant CTD when full screen mode was on ! Just my experience.
  12. Will be there for SURE ! anyone wanna do a group flight with me !
  13. Hi, this may probably help you:http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=181785
  14. Word Not Allowed your YOUR SIG IS TOO LONG!!!! Be careful you're in danger! LoooooL
  15. Cool! May i ask for your full spec and what fps you get, just for my curiosity?
  16. Hi fella,I've seen some people running fsx on some high-end ATI cards and they seem to enjoy their FSX experience. However and according to Ryan recommendation NVIDIA is the way to go. But you should change your CPU and get it up to 4,xxGHZ to enjoy the NGX. I5 2500K would be a nice pick.PS: i do also have ELLX and i'm able to get a minimum of 30fps at all times. ELLX, EHAM and LEMD are among the most fps breaker out there!
  17. Water is high 1x and got EZCA (you can tell by the landing), i just don't like when the cockpit is too shaky when in cruise. CHECK OUT my Ultimate fsx collection !
  18. Hi ChristianMe personally i love the livery like that. perfect for my taste. i have tons of your liveries including all the NAX series. what u're doin is history...... !!!!!!!!
  19. Nvidia settings are on top of topics. Be aware that many have criticized it also many noticed some fps drops : THE EXACT CONTRARY OF WHAT I GOT. For me these setting have greatly improve my FS experience: I must admit that over clocking from 4,6 to 4,9GHZ helped. But stutters vanished because of the way i changed my Nvidia settings. The thing is i don't care much about what people say, you know, about how to set up my system (except words from Ryan and a very few guys up here), because we're all different. Some of us may have some things (having none to do with this FS thing) slowing down their FSX , and keep playing, tweaking their fsx.cfg plus other thing....etc . I don't . So what i posted initially is a winner in MY CASE. Been simming for almost 15years, so i can tell when its right or not (at least on my system). So the vid was intended to show those criticizing that i was really doin well and THAT WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT. WHAT WORKS FOR ME MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU !But if i can help, i'd be glad to do it !
