  1. Not really that graphics card is really low end, when the CPU? Core 2 duo? I say you can get FS9 to run smooth on medim settings.
  2. Yes the Q6600 is quite hard to overclock no point in liquid cooling. Get the best quad you can afford.
  3. I don't agree with either of you I've seen many PCs built and built one myself and it's not AT ALL easy easpecially since the guy is a novice (Upgrade rookie :) ) The wiring get's very complex and knowing what to plug in where. Its best done with the step by step help (in person) with someone who knows how... And why are you telling him to get alienware if it's just so easy to build, don't be rediculous please. It just seems easy to you because you've been through the prosses plenty of times.
  4. but not everyone is able to build a rig, it's not easy!
  5. I know I guess you didn't notice that my temps never break 70C I already said that
  6. I would never buy that product.. NEVERas rrrman said the H70 or H50 is a great solution
  7. If you want to run FSX on really high settings you proably need a custom made or gaming PC from a real company that makes those kind of PC i.e. not dell.you would need Intel i7-980X, GTX480, 6GB DDR3 CL6 (case latency) or CL7 RAM. An SSD would be good and 1000W PSU. If you don't built it yourself howver it will proably end up costing a lot!
  8. Allright so it's back down to 1.43 perfectly stable so this is good for now. I'll tweak some more when I get a moment. Thanks for the advice all
  9. I don't know... I guess I'll try to get that Vcore down but I don't really want to go to 4.2Ghz. There's not point.
  10. Well there's no dust. I'll try applying some pressure. But the thing is it's an Asus board. So I have to run orange orange orange. Could I put them in the black?
  11. @ Ivan but i'm not running stock so that's why I got it!!@mwilk Yeah but my temperatures are resonasble so I don't see a reason to risk BOSDs
  12. Ok so now I followed some advice from another forum and fixed some voltages, and took out then re-installed the each RAM stick. Now 4GB show up out of 6GBThis is really disapointing because I payed for 6GB and it's not working. Oh yeah and I checked the CPU pins on the board and one looks a little weird but can this affect the RAM because when it went from 2GB to 4GB I didn't touch the CPU/cooler at all...
  13. Yes I have and i've deduced that one of the memory slot likes to stop working 3 times out of 4!
  14. So I purchased new comontents recently and when I hooked up the system everything was fine. Until a week later I boot up and it's telling me 4000MB of RAM when I have 6GB, then over the next month it was switching in between 4Gb and 6GB at each bootup (on POST)Now only 2GB is showing up!! What's going on?
  15. Time to re-write those figures yeah!! I jsut got the CPU to 4Ghz!!! With my new Noctua nh-d14. Just ran the bench and these are my resultsMin: 35 Avg: 67 max:92
  16. Thank you. So I did it :P 4Ghz overclock YES!! Stable under OCCT I'm using Vcore of 1.45 which is a bit high but my temps are nver higher than 72C!!
  17. Oh nice! Yeah, I just tooks it from 2.8Ghz to 3.6Ghz with no voltage after 5 mins of Prime 95 the highest temp is 57C
  18. Hey everyone.I just picked up a Noctua nh-d14 cooler from a local store and I've installed it, now I'm looking at the idle temps on my i7-930 they read 35, 30, 31 ,35C I can't remember my stock temps but are these numbers too high under CoreTemp 0.99.7 I'm just wondering before I sart overclocking!ThanksLuckyman
  19. Yeah that's a pretty small resolution. The better the card the more it will help you when you get up there past 1920 x 1080. So a GTX460 also looks good, it all depends on how much you wanna spend.
  20. Yeah even that system is so expensive. The one with the -980X and GTX480 is around 4000$My rig only cost 1200$, It pays to make to custom build.
