Yes the Q6600 is quite hard to overclock no point in liquid cooling. Get the best quad you can afford. -

I don't agree with either of you I've seen many PCs built and built one myself and it's not AT ALL easy easpecially since the guy is a novice (Upgrade rookie :) ) The wiring get's very complex and knowing what to plug in where. Its best done with the step by step help (in person) with someone who knows how... And why are you telling him to get alienware if it's just so easy to build, don't be rediculous please. It just seems easy to you because you've been through the prosses plenty of times. -

I would never buy that product.. NEVERas rrrman said the H70 or H50 is a great solution -
If you want to run FSX on really high settings you proably need a custom made or gaming PC from a real company that makes those kind of PC i.e. not dell.you would need Intel i7-980X, GTX480, 6GB DDR3 CL6 (case latency) or CL7 RAM. An SSD would be good and 1000W PSU. If you don't built it yourself howver it will proably end up costing a lot!

Big RAM problem
luckyman replied to luckyman's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Ok so now I followed some advice from another forum and fixed some voltages, and took out then re-installed the each RAM stick. Now 4GB show up out of 6GBThis is really disapointing because I payed for 6GB and it's not working. Oh yeah and I checked the CPU pins on the board and one looks a little weird but can this affect the RAM because when it went from 2GB to 4GB I didn't touch the CPU/cooler at all... -
Big RAM problem
luckyman replied to luckyman's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Yes I have and i've deduced that one of the memory slot likes to stop working 3 times out of 4! -
So I purchased new comontents recently and when I hooked up the system everything was fine. Until a week later I boot up and it's telling me 4000MB of RAM when I have 6GB, then over the next month it was switching in between 4Gb and 6GB at each bootup (on POST)Now only 2GB is showing up!! What's going on?
