  1. Those purple lines are your flight director. Notice in the top 3 pics, the FD is turned off, so the lines aren't there. In the last pic the FD is on, so the lines are there. You follow them in flight when flying manually.
  2. This trusty old bit of kit + 2 saitek throttle quadrants.
  3. Just like i corrected my spelling after you quoted me. Stupid phone! Light-hearted fun.So, when's this thing due out, again?
  4. 26L was closed recently for WIP, so 26R was used instead. Under normal ops, 26R is more or less a taxiway.I'm more interested in the "position and hold" at a UK aerodrome and the ficticious Gatwick VOR! ;)Guessing the OP was using voxATC/Radar contact or similar.OP, any chance of pics of the leggy blonde?
  5. I used to play this on my Amiga 600 about 20 years ago!
  6. Ray, Are you a wide-beta tester? If so, is the calender indicitive of release date?
  7. The freeware CYYZ Toronto for FSX is very good. Not avsim, but it's on flightsim.com
  8. Fernando,Perfect English. No need to apologise. There are various arguments for and against HT, but my vote goes for HT off with higher overclock. You've correctly identified HT generates more heat. Also, I believe FSX only uses physical cores.
  9. Go into control panel and then power management/options. Set the computer never to go to sleep. Problems solved!
  10. I have 2 saitek throttle quadrants, so the first thing i'll be doing is sitting on the ground somewhere, engines running, configuring my 6 axes and 18 buttons/switches for battery, apu start and shutdown, individual engine start/shutdown/reverse/thrust/fuel on and off/air bleeds, flaps, gear, trim, spoiler, etc. Once all that's sorted, i'll probably magic it over here to the UK and start on lots of short hops. Will we be able to destroy the engines if we don't start them right, like we saw in the JS41?

    Holy thread revival, Batman!
  12. Hi,I don't think this has been covered before as a search revealed nothing.I'm an FSX user who's just built an i5 rig. Still getting to know it.I came across Nick_N's thead about tweaking the FSX.cfg file using an i7 and HT.The i5, hasn't got HT. In tast manager, I can't right-click on the fsx.exe process to set the affinity. Would setting the affinity mask to 15 make FSX work on all 4 cores <---is that even possible.Any other tweaks that i5 users are using? On a side note, when I did a clean install of FSX on Win 7 x64, I was getting FPS between 100-200. After install of SP1, that dropped to 20-40 fps before installing 3rd party software. Was there a glitch or have a stumbled across something?I'd appreciate hearing about what other i5 users have done to FSX.Thanks,Stuart Edit: Task manager shows fsx using cores 1, 2 and 3. Core 0 seems to be being used by other stuff. FPS seem doubled when in full screen mode as opposed to windowed mode.
