XTrack
Has anyone has success with the XTrack function in the Q400's FMC? I can't get it working.

Wake turbulence effects in ASN
DP10 replied to Gregg_Seipp's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumGregg I have ASN SP1 and in a multiplayer session the wake turb thing sent my aircraft on a similar journey! I was using a light aircraft so I think that feature is over done.

RNAV Arrival
I've been trying several arrivals at un-towered airports in Australia, using mainly RNAV approaches, and I've been having trouble, like many others, with the aircraft missing the IF completely. Majestic have indicated that they are looking at this and may do something in a future patch. Yesterday I flew YSST to YPMQ and I thought I'd enter the RNAV fixes and see how the aircraft handled things. The FMC didn't want to enter my fixes which I was reading straight off the Air Services Australia approach sheet for YPMQ rwy 21! To check what was in the FMC I loaded the FMC approach and quickly noticed the nav data (cycle 1403) was showing different fix names, although in the same positions as the chart! From memory the chart uses fixes which begin with PMQ but the nav data fixes (cycle 1403) all begin with PQQ. Maybe it's just old data and they work ok but be warned just in case you need to enter a fix in a hurry. DP

Is Q400 immune to turbulance....?
Ckyliu Thank you. As yet I haven't flown the Q enough, using the latest patch, to get a good handle on where I think the turbulence should be. I may not have encountered weather in ASNext that has much turbulence, time will tell. It is much better than the release version (original) and it looks like it can be easily fine tuned.

VNAV Approaches
I have flown a few vnav approaches in the majestic Q400. To load the approach I use the "Arrivals" key on the FMC and just make sure to select a RNAV approach. When you select the desired approach check in the FMC that the minimum altitude(s) are set. My VNAV approaches have all worked ok but I think if the minimum alt was not loaded things might not go to plan. This will depend on how accurate your (our) nav data is in the FMC so check the altitude(s) before you start the approach. Good luck. DP

Is Q400 immune to turbulance....?
So far I've noticed the aircraft rocks from side to side mostly. I haven't seen much nose movement and the aircraft hasn't shown any movement vertically (yet), maybe this will change as the weather I fly in varies over time. The stick shakes a lot though. I'm using ASNext with turbulence about 70%, which from memory is a bit above ASN's default setting, maybe I might try the slider at 100% and see if I get more "bang for my buck". I'm using the latest 1.08b patch which in my opinion is the best so far. The turbulence effects in the cockpit will give me the impression that I've encountered turbulence so it's doing it's job and I'm pleased with it. DP

default GPS 530
BliksimpieYou are a genius! I renamed window00 to window04 then went right up the top of the cfg & edited window00=gps to window04=gps & heypresto it works. Now all I have to do is wait until your mods are done & I will be able to really enjoy the 210. I've edited quite a few panels and I haven't seen or heard of that problem.Thank you again.Ian

Bottom half of VC is blacked out
Yes my 210 does the same thing when I use Shift + 1. Like you I have reloaded the aircraft + the latest patch out today but it still blacks out the panel. I also can't get the 530 (default) GPS to pop-up, how about you?ian

default GPS 530
I just loaded the latest patch but the GPS still won't pop-up. Shift+1 does pop-up the GPS but the bottom half of the panel disappears so that's not acceptable or particuarly usefull. I'm wondering what other aircraft I have that has a pop-up GPS & I might just copy the relevant panel editing. That is if I have anything with a pop-up. I might even ditch the GPS & just have com & nav radio controls like the carenado 182 models. That way I can at least set the radios without the outside view disappearing. Or try your GPS first. Carenado support have only suggested reloading the aircraft & loading the latest patch neither working.Ian

default GPS 530
BliksimpieWill your gauges work without Acceleration? If they will then maybe I should just load them & forget the Carenado gauges. It sounds like yours work better anyway.Ian

default GPS 530
I've had a look in the 210 documentation & I don't think Acceleration is required. Ian

default GPS 530
I don't have acceleration so I guess that's going to be a problem.I will be disappointed if Acceleration is needed for the GPS to pop up because this is a copy of the spec on the carenado product pageTechnical Requirements:Windows XP with SP3 installed, Vista or 7 (32 or 64 bits).Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX with SP1 and SP2 (or Acceleration Pack) installed.Pentium V/2GHz or similar – 2GB RAM – 512MB graphics card.660 MB available hard disk space. My computer meets or exceeds everything except Acceleration. Acceleration is not mandatory, just an option.Thank you for your replyIan :(

default GPS 530
My GPS 530 will not pop up if clicked on the screen in the VC. My mouse cursor changes to the hand symbol but the GPS won't pop up. Should the 530 pop up or have I misread the instructions? Is there a cure for this?:( RegardsIan
