  1. I just noticed while watching the video the OP posted, the person with the camera has the headset over the camera's microphone and I think the callouts are coming over that which is why it sounds so much louder than the NGX does. I'm not exactly sure though.
  2. You mentioned you had ASE running. Do you have wake turbulence enabled in ASE and flying with AI traffic? It is possible you landed a bit too close to an AI plane and ASE's wake turbulence hit you.
  3. Dylan, The only 2D panels that I use constantly are the MCP and CDU popouts. Undocked, and placed on my second monitor.
  4. Had the issue just now. Was flying Alaska Airlines flight 17 from KMIA to KSEA using:KMIA WINCO1 WINCO LBV J616 SRQ Q100 REDFN Q105 HRV EIC IRW LAA CHE PIH PDT CHINS7 KSEA I was 244nm from IRW (as can be seen in the below picture). I recently had just step climbed to FL360 from FL340 and was changing the approach when this happened. I was in the LEGS page at the time. Here is a screenshot of the LEGS page and the MENU page of both CDUs along with the ND:The issue happened either before or when I hit EXEC. Which is still lit.Payload information (Was unable to get it from the FMC): And, not sure if this is useful, but I have the "Previous flight" state from FSX (the FMC/Panel state wasn't able to be saved sadly):http://dl.dropbox.co...viousflight.zip Here are my system specs if it helps at all: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz4GB DDR2 RAMnVidia GTX560 Ti 1GBWindows 7 Professional x64 Addons in use:ActiveSky EvolutionFSUIPC (Registered). EDIT: Forgot to mention, I was in a multiplayer session with some friends at the time.EDIT2: Forgot OS oops.
  5. My first landing was ILS 28R at Palm Beach International from Atlanta. Had to go around once though because I was using FSX ATC and did not descend nicely and was too high. Always fun being at ~10,000ft 10 miles from the airport when you need to be at 2000... so I went missed and I finally was vectored back only to notice I had 1.65k lbs of fuel left in my Left and Right tank... Other than that it was a fun intro flight for me. :)

I saw that as well a while back. I also found the Heavy Weapons Guy sitting all the way in the back row with a yellow shirt. I kinda went "Wait... what?" when I first saw during a flight from the outside windows.
  7. You guys were right about one thing, "too many displays" was the issue. I had to disable the TV out on my 8800GTS and suddenly FSX decided that it wanted to work.Thank you all for your help!
  8. I've rebooted the computer, and updated the drivers. Same issues.I also am not using Air Display (caused blue screens when updating drivers last time).
  9. First time I've ever gotten that error message.I decided to load FSX to play some multiplayer with a friend and that's what I get while FSX loads. After clicking on "OK" FSX then happily crashes. My system:Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad @ 2.4GHz4GB DDR2EVGA nVidia GTX 560 TiEVGA nVidia 8800 GTS (for second monitor and tv output..)Windows 7 Professional (x64)FSX did run with the GTX 560 before, I have no idea what has changed.Anyone have an idea as to what could be causing this?
  10. Dang, I wish I knew about the arrival earlier, I might have driven down there to see her! As a side note, it seems this is a regular event now for DLH462 and DLH463. Now I just have to hope for bad weather at KMIA and a diversion to KPBI... (only inexpensive way to catch one :()
  11. Thank you both for the reports, I'll try to fix the reported bugs when I have some freetime this week.Right, so my TODO:* Allow the program to function with and without SimConnect* Fix bug relating to temperature being 15C* Fix application crash after unchecking "Auto Get Data"* Attempt to recreate cfelix's bug and then fix it (if possible)Again, than you all for your help!
  12. I had that happen to me before, but that was because the initial values for the IAS Bug were not the default 40, 45, 50, 55. If they aren't that when you launch the application then you get those completely off numbers. I'll try and recreate that issue tonight since that should be well with in the range of the PMDG speed cards for the JS41. Do you use any weather addons?
  13. Strange... I'm not able to reproduce that issue at all. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?
  14. Charlie,I was not able to recreate the speed setting issues, but I am getting the incorrect labels on the FSX message boxes. I'll work on that when I get some free time sometime this week.In regards to the speed setting issue, are you changing the numbers before launching the application?Could you also try launch the application before you launch FSX and tell me what happens then?Thank you again for the response and for helping me debug my application. :)
  15. Could you give me the steps that lead to that issue so I can try and recreate it?
  16. It's working fine? I assume you also installed SimConnect on the remote machine but not configured it to remotely connect to FSX?If it still isn't working I can upload a version which doesn't require SimConnect at all... I might just work on that as the next version for the application. Making the SimConnect dependency be optional that is.
  17. Thank you all for the kind words! If any of you see anything that needs to improved or any features you think would improve the application, please don't hesitate to request them. :)
  18. Jack,Thank you for the kind words. Just a quick question out of curiosity about the flight, was the flight at an elevation and temperature that'd require a V1/VRcorrection, as that might have been a reason for the calculated speed differences. Or did you mean over different weights?
  19. If I wish to do "real world" flights with the JS41, I just take flight plans from FlightAware that Gulfstream Internatonal Airlines use for their Beech 1900Ds. Otherwise I just pick local airports in Florida and fly to/from. For me, Florida is more than large enough for JS41 flights.
  20. Thank you, and yeah it was my intention to ease the workload a tad bit during preflight and landing Thank you! You've made me smile and I swear I felt my ego grow a bit larger!
  21. I've been using the PMDG Jetstream 41 for a while, and after many varying flights I thought to myself "I should write an application to that will give me the VSpeeds for varying weights" (I'm lazy :(). My first attempt was to write it in Python bot I got distracted by school and life and completely forgot about it. However recently the idea struck me again and I've been learning C# and finally wrote what I intended.I wrote a small application that will return the VSpeeds of the JS41 for a specified gross weight, elevation, and temperature (based on the data provided in the AOM). It also takes into account if you have Anti-Ice on.If you have FSX running and the PMDG JS41 as your selected aircraft (the application was written specifically for the PMDG JS41) there will be a menu added under "Add-ons" which you can take advantage of and can select what flaps, if there is icing, and whether you want take off or landing speeds. (The below image is slightly out of date, but still shows the menu options)If you the aforementioned menu the application will popup a window in FSX. If you wish for it to attempt to set the VSpeeds automagically™ it will and will keep track of them, even after takeoff (where V1/VR reset). Just a note, do not change the bugs from their initial values and then launch the application as the data will be out of sync between the two (I have no way of retrieving the speeds set, I can just make a really close estimate). The application will also alert you if you are over or underweight and if you are trying to takeoff at too high an elevation or too hot or too cold a temperature.Without further ado, the application (The application requires .NET 4.0 and SimConnect SP2 to be installed). Please let me know if there is anything missing, any issues you discover while flying with it, and any features you think might improve my application.Hope you all enjoy. :)Edit: Fixed the installer.
  22. There we go, my MD11F is now in Tampa again... this time with a much better takeoff and landing. I love this plane :)
  23. I took my MD-11F on a short hop, Tampa (KTPA) to Ft. Lauderdale (KFLL) for the purposes of recording a landing for a friend... I botched the approach so badly and probably should have gone missed and attempt it again, but nevertheless I landed safely albeit a tadbit low.Probably annoyed the rich people that live on the intracoastal waterway. >_> I need to try that again... this time not abusing (read violating) FAA rules so badly :(
  24. Boeing 747-400 and Concorde for me, both my #1.Boeing 757-200 and MD-80 my #2I always see Delta and Continental United 757-200s with winglets and without, love it either way.
  25. I just got my MD11 for my Birthday so I took it out on a short hop as a learning exercise so now my MD-11 is at KMEM after a nice short flight from KFLL.I had to try landing three times though, first attempt was ILS 27... but due to my poor altitude management I was at ~4000ft MSL at G/S intercept instead of the posted 1900ft >_<.Second attempt had me doing the ILS 36R approach, all was good but the AI ATC was being inefficient and was only using that runway for arrivals so I had to go around at minimums due to traffic.Third attempt I requested ILS 36L and due to forgetting to retard my throttles properly at flare, I floated down half the runway and just barely stopped at the end. I learned quite a few things from that flight.I just need to read the manual a bit to understand the AFS which is where some of my issues stem from.I love my new tri-holer. :biggrin:Now to plan the flight back home...
