On loading FSX-STEAM I am getting two warnings….one is…. “SCENERY.CFG Local scenery directory (Addon scenery\SCENERY)in scenery area 115 not found) Short of a complete re install of FSX STEAM, is there a way of correcting this and finding the missing item? Thanks Donald

I have LNM installed with FSX STEAM. Clicked on 'online flying' but I cannot see on the map where I can activate the 'circles' for live ATC Can any member point me in the right direction please. I have activated online flying Thank you Donald

Hi Charles and thanks for your tip regarding adjusting the throttle controls. It is really unusual to adjust the prop/mixture controls on my flightsim yoke for a PMDG jet aircraft but my recent flight went well with no cut outs. I'll report back after a few flights using this method and let you know if this is the cure encase other members have the same problem. Donald Leaton

Having solved the engine cut out on taxi problem, thanks to another member's advice .....today all three engines faded and wound down three times whilst in cruise. There are no failures programmed and plenty of fuel. Not overloaded nor too high in altitude. When I first installed this product years ago, it had no problems at all. I have since uninstalled it twice and re installed again having downloaded it from the PMDG site Can any member offer some advice as to why this is occurring....perhaps something I am not initiating on startup perhaps? Definitely not fuel. However, re calibrating my FlightSim Yoke seems to have solved the problem, Thanks for the tip. Fingers crossed now for the future Donald.

I really want to get this bird in the air. I think I have lost a start up procedure somewhere although I believe I have followed the manual. Due to mega PC problems, I haven't flown it for some time This is the problem. I manage to start all engines ok with the start up instructions and they are running well until I push my throttles for taxi..and the engines cut out. Is there something I am missing here in the start up ? Any advice is appreciated Thanks Donald

I have noticed that although the correct ILS and LOC details are entered into the FMC of the PMDG MD11, on final, the locator line on the NAV display is slightly to the right of centre each time on all runways. I have the current AIRAC installed. Can any member suggest what may be wrong here or suggest a solution please? Thanks Quote Edit

Just completed a flight from Gatwick to Algiers and during the cruise period both 'engines fail' and spool down. After a few seconds they spool up again. This situation occurred about 6 times during the flight, randomly spooling down then up. I have no 'failures' programmed and the fuel is ok. Just had a flight from EGKK/DAAG and whilst in steady cruise both engines show 'engine fail' and spool down. After a few seconds they spool up again and all is ok. Then this happens again, randomly throughout the flight, about 6 times in total. I have no failures programmed at all and would ask for any advice as to what may be causing this. I use Active Sky 2012 for my weather in FSX and it is loaded prior to FSX. During the last two FSX loads I noticed that as well as generating scenery/objects etc., a 'new' load has appeared. Not seen it before and drags out the load a bit..........'creating world-wide weather' A bit irritating and not needed as my weather is AS12 ! Is there some way to disable this load ? On a few occasions lately I have found that after having loaded Active Sky 2012 then FSX, although I can hear transmissions from ATC they cannot hear me. I am flying on line with VATSIM using the PMDG 737NGX. I have checked out my mic and connections and they are in order. As a test, I did not load Active Sky at all, then loaded FSX and on these occasions my transmissions were ok. A bit puzzled by this behaviour. I wondered if any other member had come across this problem? Thank you Donald.

I have a boxed version with key of the MD11 for 2004. I now have a PC capable of running FSX and wondered if there was a patch I could purchase to update my version from FS2004 to FSX? Thank you Donald.

I have just watched a tutorial on U Tube concerning descent. In the demo the pilot showed the ND and 'made' the lower part display a descent profile image. (An aircraft descending). How do you do this? Also, he created a green arc about 4nm from the arrival runway and also a dashed green line about 10deg difference from the runway heading (to alert him to activate VOR LOC). How do you do this also? Thank you Donald

KennethNot quite sure what you mean. After loading Flight sim the standard 4 aircraft appear (800 and WL/900 and WL) with House livery but the BA one does not.Donald
