ok, don't get mad but i have zero computer knowledge so I don't know what most of that means. I have deleted the cfg file to rebuild a new one but it didnt do anything. The computer is an asus laptop 16GB ram, nvidia Geforce GTX 770M Intel core I7 cpu 2.4 ghz if that is any kind of help.

So I have a big problem that has not gone away no matter what I try. I have major stutters which is ruining my experience. These are stutters that seem to "shake" the whole screen, that's how bad they are. It doesn't happen all the time and not always in the same place. I have tried moving all my sliders to the left, uninstalled my ai, uninstalled active sky, orbx, envtek, and various add on airports and I still get the stutters. I'm actually not sure as I can classify them as stutters because they are much much more than that. I would love to find a way to record a video of it to post here but I am not sure if that is possible or if I can do it. There is a way to record in the game, but it saves it as a strange file extension that I can't do anything with. My old version of P3D was v2 and everything worked really well, it's now that I have switched to v3 that this problem started. would appreciate any help at all, thanks.

Is there a way of finding out how many airlines are using the dedaulas livery because on the start screen it says there are over 1500 airlines using that livery. Ouch, I guess we all have a lot work to do for replacing those. I uninstalled ###ai because of the controversy but I am not sure if I will get them same result from ultimate traffic live. I also know it's new, but is there a way to add an airline from woai or the avsim library that ultimate traffic live doesn't have or contains an outdated livery?

I have the same problem with the forums, so annoying. I am also waiting for the update from simmarket because I can't get into the those forums.

uninstalled the academic client. When I check for the new hotfix download it does not show up (it was there yesterday) so now I have no P3D. I restored computer to fix what I did, now I can't start P3D because i get an shaders and radar message on startup. Would appreciate some help thanks. The file is shader file radargauge.hlsl fixed: used wrong liscencse

i only have aerosoft milan airport scenery and that does work. So if it's better to start over again as administrator then I only need to download one scenery again instead of 100! I "installed" active sky 16, stb, envtex, and acsa but none of them work and I am wondering if it's the administrator thing but i never had to deal with administrator in v 2.5. I also have other folders in my D: drive outside of the prepard v3 folder. In version 2.5 everything is installed into the v 2.5 folder.

oops, I don't think I ran it as an administrator but i am not sure, i thought i was an expert at it. What should I do? can i unistall and then run it as administrator? I did get aerosoft milan to show up and it's working but that's it so far. I installed p3d v3.4 outside of the c drive like recommended but it seems like no installers find that folder.

yes, i uninstalled v2 completely. downloaded the full installer for p3d v3. I restarted the computer and then installed p3d v3. it is installed to the d: drive under preapr3d v3. (D: prepar3d v3). Then tried my new addons and here we are.

yes, i did run p3d v3 and it loaded fine. the messages i am getting are unhandled exemptions, and with active sky it says asconnect version is wrong because that version is for p3d v3 which I have so not sure what that's all about. Most problems come from programs telling me it cant find p3d and airplanes, scenery... even though I point them to the location where p3d is. i also installed one airport which installed to my p3d folder and then I active it in the scenery library and nothing shows and I exit p3d to be sure and still nothing. i am completely lost now and everything seems really different but looking the same.

finally downloaded it along with p3d v3, active sky 16 and cloud art. What a mess, nothing works now. error messages all over the place. very frustrating and exactly what i feared. should have taken my own advice.

yes, i have more questions. i installed p3d v3 and now none of my addons appear even though they are p3d v3 compatable. Is there a new way to install addons?

I still need help and I don't know what I did to get the post locked?

can i uninstall old active sky 12 and asn if i buy active sky 16 and asca? then use envtex on top of that. rex is going to be too confusing when it comes out.

Hello everyone, here is the deal: been using P3D v2.5 for a while years with not too many problems. I have many many addons, FTX, STB, ASN, ai planes, and far too many airport addons so you name it, I probably have it. So I knew when P3D v3 came out and you could not upgrade from v2 that the writing was on the wall and I would have to suck it up and buy the new version all over again. I did not think it would come so soon but it seems it has. I have been following the new texture package called envtex while also keeping my eye on as16 and rex skyforce. I have been deciding which one to buy, but surprise they all require P3D v3 so now the decision is made. I assume most cool new addons will be made for V3. But, I have put many many many hours of work in P3D (as most of you) and I really don't want to keep doing this every single time. We all have to get off this merry go round and just have one working version. Now the real concern is having to install my add ons into the new P3D (what is the latest version anyway?) and I have some questions, with more to follow I'm sure. Are all add ons compatible? do I have to uninstall them completely? do I need to reinstall everything when a new version comes out? does the new version take up more space? what is so different about v3? what is the best way to completely uninstall P3D v2? how much space does it take? can i install it to a different drive? x-plane 11 looks good :wink: I know some of this information can be found by searching, but there is nothing like real time information from other simmers that have had the same situation. Thanks a bunch!

wait, i just read that it only supports p3d v3? I still use p3d v2.5 so am i now completely out of luck. active sky16 and asca only works with p3d v3 too and pretty sure rex will also. what about us p3d v2 people?

does anyone know how this will compare to rex skyforce, that is whenever it comes out. i am afraid to buy this and then find out that rex skyforce does the same thing.and more. can this be used with active sky next for weather? i dont have asca so i am hoping i can still benefit from it. i do like the changing of textures each time the game loads up but i think i remember wanting rex skyforce for the same thing. i am sensing a pattern here. :smile:

really on the fence on this one. I am presently using active sky 12 for textures and active sky next for weather. Does this replace active sky 12? or active sky next. I am planning on getting rex skyforce when it comes out and I am thinking that sky force will do all of this and more and I can uninstall active sky and just use rex. What will i get from envtex that i won't be getting with rex or is it even needed. The screenshots do look nice and price is probably cheaper. Thank you.

Been asking this for years and still have not had any solutions. Plenty of suggestions but nothing works and I don't think people understand what I am asking for so I don't think I am getting the right suggestions. Most people say alter the camera positions in the P3D camera section but for me, it's very hard to understand what does what to start tinkering around with it. I will follow this thread because I would love to see what responses you get. Good luck
