Configuration Observations and Tips
When setting aero on in win 7 I can hear p3d but there is no image, going fullscreen or windowed does nothing, win 7 disables aero automatically after a few minutes. Any ideas?

Why should Microsoft support TrackIR?
I remember reading that trackir does all the calculations on the device itself and sends the gathered input info to your pc where freetrack or track noir takes up more computer resources because your pc is doing most/all of the work. I'm not sure if that would, if at all, degrade performance enough to become noticable. I do use trackir 5 with ezdok and the immersion is a cut above using just keyboard or joystick inputs, something about the slight head movements you get using head tracking along with a jostling aircraft that can fool your brain. This really comes handy when you are using the stick and rudder together, like acrobatics, because you don't have to fumble with a coolie hat to switch views.

Joshua Howard Interview with AVSIM
I never got bent out of shape about Flight, but at the same time I never was offended or frustrated by the backlash of some in the community, it is thier right to circle the wagons if they want to. If they, like me, have spent thousands on computer equipment, controllers, and software, then go forth and be mad as hell, I really don't think any amount of constructive feedback would have changed the outcome by any margin. It is Microsofts right to do as they please to shape their own future, and it is our right as consumers to wring our fists in their faces if we don't like what they put out, simple as that. I have downloaded Flight, liked it, but it has taken a back seat to FSX, RoF, and DCS, maybe I'll check back with Flight later in the year, or next week, or probably tomorrow.

Using Mavericks on TERs
try thishttp://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80047there are way more threads over at the DCS forms, and a few dealing with loadout problems and the mission editor. I had a similar problem early on and I remember it had to do with how you saved it in the editor.Godd Luck,Miguel

Moved Back to FSX
I'm also heading back to FSX for the near future, I think I'll return to Flight when it matures a bit more. I dug the visuals and flight dynamics, very little stutters compared to FSX, which was never that bad on my system, but jumping in the Bronco X and flying around SF bay with trackir and ezdok still gets me in the zone.

PSU recommendation
Hi all, I am about to build a pc, after doing some research I have narrowed it down to the following hardware:i5-2500kasus p8z68-v pro/gen3cooler master 212 evo ( I'm only going to overclock to 4.2, I'm a little nervous about the lifespan of the system )corsair 8gb vengeancegigabyte gtx 560ti600gb WD VR - FSX500gb WD black - OS ( will upgrade to SSD in the future )PSU - ? I was thinking of a corsair hx650w, does that sound adequate for this system?Any feed back would be great. Thanks,Miguel

Specs
mmtaraval replied to benny948's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcI'm running a E5642 2.8 mac pro on boot camp 512 mb ati 38706gb stock ram600gb WD desktop drive, OS and FSX on same drive.I can run GA addon aircraft in the sf bay or ORBX PNW on above mid settings with no problem, even the PMDG j4100 with no problem. Most heavy aircraft will stutter, as will low and fast flying aircraft like jets, with one exception, the l-39. I'm very impressed with the performance I get from my 4 year old mac, I still get taken aback by the level of visuals achieved with my system, especially flying the A2A Cub out of WA79. With that being said I am going to upgrade to the i5-2500k, put in about $1200-1300 and properly set up the system.
