  1. I'm kind of cautious installing the Win 10. Today is the day. Are there any guys who have installed it yet?
  2. I experienced the same thing a long time ago. Someone told me that it has something to do with the maximum speed of 250 kt's below 10.000 ft. Flying faster means shaking of the plane.
  3. Mmmmh, Sounds too complicated for me with the result I will end up with an upside down airport. For me a no go. Thanks for your reply!
  4. Hi there, This week someone told me that fs9 scenery can be converted to the prepar3d flightsimulator. Is this true?
  5. And that is what I'm looking for. I started to avoid these nice sceneries just because of the terrible framerates I get at these airports because of the traffic. They start to drop to 10-13 fps. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if that 3,6 ghz is enough for a heavy fs2004. Are there any other users who use fs9 with a comparable system? My current system runs at 2,3 ghz and is really suffering at heavy traffic areas like JFK and ORD. Does a faster CPU do any better at these areas?
  7. I'm going to buy a new rig. There was a lot of doubt because I'm (still) a huge old-school fs9 lover. I have so much addons on it, I wont leave my first love. The doubt is gone because my old rig wont accept the new game that crushed Simcity 5: Skylines. Another hobby. The question is about the motherboard but also about the videocard. There are to cards Im looking at: a gtx960 or a gtx970. Whats is in your opinion the best card for fs9? The second question: Im going to buy a i7-4790. Will this one run fs9 smooth enough? (And my fs9 is added with a huge amount of traffic and other addons.)

  9. And that is why I stick to fs9. Offcourse I have invested money and time on this sim but that is not the main reason to stick to it. I now have two very young kids (2 y/o and 3 months) and I picked up a study so I have to invest time in other more important things right now. The time will come that the simming returns. Sometimes I get behind my desktop and fly a short route, once a week. This morning I saw that AlphaIndia had some new traffic files on the library from UsAirways, United and so on. Nice. Im looking forward to install them this afternoon and make the traffic updated again. I dont like to invest new energy in a new sim. My fs9 works great! Got great fps, got nice sceneries with realistic traffic. It starts everytime without any fuss. Dont get ctd's or oom's. I understand, when you got the time and the money I maybe also abandon fs9 for something better. But for me fs9 is like your first car. It doesnt let you down, you got nice memories with it and you know it the best.
  10. I know it is a single core program. Thats why Im looking at that clocking speed. My current system has 2.3 ghz. This one has up to 4. I believe that should do the trick? What do you guys think? I found some info about that videocard.... It is not a very good one.... My current card is an Amd 4850. The problem in my current system is the traffic. The graphics are normally very good, I get fine frame rates. When at busy airports it gets very bad. Does that traffic has something to do with the videocard or with the processor? Do you have any ideas on that?
  11. Hi guys, On my system I have fs9. The system is a Quad core Q8200 (2.33GHz, 1333MHz, 4MB cache) from 2009. I really have tons of addons (payware, freeware, lots of traffic, you name it). I specially love airline flying from busy airports and I constantly keep tuning my ai-traffic. This traffic is getting more demanding so at busy airports my fps drop dramatically. Now I'm thinking about a new system. What kind of system would be adequate enough of handling my fs9? I found this system for a fair price. Can this system handle fs9 properly? 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4790 processor (8M Cache, up to 4.0 GHz) 12 GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1.600 MHz (3 GB x 4) 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 4GB DDR3 Thanks!
  12. Thanks for your reply. What fpsdo you get at Ord and Jfk with full traffic?
  13. My system is from 2009. It is a Quad core Q8200 (2.33GHz, 1333MHz, 8mb cache) What could be the ideal system to run Fs9 on? I decided to ignore fsx because I have so much addon's (payware)
  14. Hi guys, I've got a question about my fs9 aircraft folder. I use alot of ai traffic but it affects my framerates bad when I'm at serious busy airports like Ord and Jfk. In all the years I have fs9 I added lots of traffic from different sources. ( Aig, WoAi, Ghiom, Utt). I also have different aircraft from different sources ( Faib, Djc, and so on) All these planes are widespread in my aircraft folder. In what way does the way I organised this folder, affects the frame rates? Do you have suggestions? Thanks!
  15. That was an issue I had some months ago. There was something wrong with (correct me if I'm wrong) a 772. Some texture issues. My fs suddenly had ctd's when I approached MIA or DFW. That one has been solved. Could it be something else with the traffic? How do you have organised your ai-traffic files. I mean, how are your planes organised in the folder? Is there something I could have missed?
  16. :-) Thanks for the reply. For me the frame rates are not that important. The thing is that I want a system that makes my FS just a little smoother during flying. I really dont want an high-end system. Maybe its just improving the video-card or adding some memory. I dont know whats best. I have lots of addons. Last week I was flying to Atlanta and when I approached the area my frame rates dropped dramatically. Mid-air at FL240 or so. It was all about the AI-traffic I have installed. When I set the slider to 0% traffic the frame rates went up to the max. (60 fps and more) So its actually has nothing to do with the scenery. All the sliders are up, no problem at all. But I like the traffic. That is something i am really busy working on. Lots of Woai packages and even more packages from AIG installed with AiFP. Could there be a solution about the traffic? I already checked all my addon aircraft with some program I forgot the name of. Right. Maybe someone has some Columbus-egg for me. ;-) I guess thats a typical Dutch thing to say. @levada: mijn dank is groot. :-)
  17. Im probably one of the few people who are really attached to FS9. I have this for so many years and in that time if have collected a widespread of add-ons. I will stick to it until my last breath. I have a system that is 5 years old. I copied the specs in here: INTEL CORE 2 QUAD CORE PROCESSOR Q8200 (2.33GHZ, 1333MHZ, 8MB CACHE) 512MB ATI RADEON 4850 GRAPHICS CARD 2 years ago I installed a SSD card to speed up some things. In FS9 I get frame rates aroud 40-50 fps and at very busy areas like JFK, ORD, LAX and ATL they drop dramatically to 10-15 fps. What do you guys think? Is this acceptable or can the performances get any better with a faster system. I know fs9 is not a multicore program so what is a realistic option for me.
  18. I love flying the QW 757. Together with the Project Airbus A319/320 the only planes I like to fly. The others are also nice but I always choose these ones.
  19. The thing that made happy was AIFP. This is a nive program which allows you to make your ai-traffic even more realistic. Download traffic plans (AIG) from avsim and open them within AiFP. It helps you complete your favourite airline with all the special liveries which you can download directly. It really made my Fs more realistic!
  20. I would like to recommend the QW 757. Its perfect!
  21. I found the problem. I removed Kphl and both the US air packages. (Usair and express) Without them the frames went up to 35 (locked) Then I reinstalled Usair and the frames stayed at 35. Now I reinstalled Usair express and down they go. So: if you ever have plans to fly with UsAir express at my rig I'm sorry. This airline does not fly anymore.
  22. I'm trying to find the solution here. I first thought there was a wrong aircraft within the JetBlue package so I reinstalled that one. Without difference. I got rid of double Afcad files. Nothing. I also got rid of KPHL to see if the problem comes from this scenery. Also at default PHL I got 4 fps. There must be something wrong with the US airways package.
  23. LOL! I was expecting that last answer. :-) I have been in the US only once and made a demestic flight from Atlanta to LaGuardia with a CRJ7. Above New Jersey we had some terrible turbulence, never experienced that. Whats wrong with NJ? But serious, the traffic must really be the issue. Is it a common problem?
  24. New Jersey is one of those states I pass alot when I fly my fs9. Normally I got a frame rate of 35 (locked at 35) and when Im at busy airports I got around 20. Perfect for me. The airports I have are from Flightbeam and Fsdreamteam. Over the years I collected alot of them. (JFK, DFW, SFO, LAS, LAX and so on) There is an issue I have lately. When I come across New Jersey my frame rate drops like crazy. It goes to 5 fps and even lower and yesterday my FS did a CTD above Trenton. What is going on? When I shut down the AI there is no problem. Could there be an issue with US Airways near or at KPHL? KPHL I use is from Sunskyjet. Who else has this problem? Do you have any suggestions? I use an AI-combination of WoAI and I customized a lot of my traffic with AIFP.
