  1. Hmmm, but, what forums on other websites for Flight Simulator, Ship Simulator, Rail Simulator, et al, are any different, they all have screenshot sections full of self gratifying shots, it's the norm isn't it, free advertising and publicity to 3rd party content creators, reskinners, and anyone else who develops and creates content for the core game, for customer's enjoyment??Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  2. I appreciate everything that Mike T. said in his original post, he, like so many others are probably just so exasperated and feel very let down after reading the blurb from Microsoft that he had to vent his anger somewhere, and I stand shoulder to shoulder with him on that very score, HOWEVER, I would personally disagree that this thread needs to be deleted/closed as it serves a multitude of purposes, we can all participate in what happens when the game finally gets released and folks can come on here and relay their personal gripes and credits accordingly, it's a free download, I am already on Windows LIVE from purchasing and registering other PC games, so, no problem there it won't cost me anything to have a look and we can see what sort of a mess (sorry, project) has been developed by the wonderful folks from MS and in years to come peeps can come on here and read what happens when global conglomerates TRY to mirror quality simulators and make a complete joke of the process, I think we should allow this thread to stand for the time being.Cheerz. 3. A recent industry report from Gartner Research suggests "many independent software vendors (ISVs) are unlikely to support new versions of applications on Windows XP in 2011; in 2012, it will become common." And it may stifle access to hardware innovation: Gartner Research further notes that in 2012, most PC hardware OEMs will stop supporting Windows XP on the majority of their new PC models. So, it beggars the question, why have MS created Flight to run on XP, if it will be a defunct OS in 18 months time, and OEM's won't support that version as of now???Cheerz. 4. Hello,Yeah, I've just been reading about this on the Bohemia Interactive website, it looks very interesting, will need to keep my eyes on this one. Thanks for posting.Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  5. I suppose it depends on if he bought them in US, Canadian or Australian Dollars, PNW is priced at AUD 40.95 ordinarily.Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  6. Yes, just PNW and associated airstrips, but, Easter will be upon us soon and then Summer, and then Christmas, I assume they will have sales on over these periods, also.I see that the discount coupon FLTSIMWED has now expired in the Flight Sim Store for these products, ho hum, guess we'll have to make do without the extra 12% discount, then......Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  7. Excellent news, many thanks to Mr. John Venema for extending the sale period.Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  8. Not wanting to hijack this thread, but, I recently purchased the G2 Games/Ariane Boeing 737 Collection for FS2004 and FSX, off an e-bay seller, the CD/DVD pack was brand new and sealed, and as I was taking the wrapper off I noticed a small illustration of a 737 with winglets, which I thought looked very nice. After I had installed the whole pack of 737 600-700-800 and 900 models ( 30 different craft in all ) and went into my FSX editor, absolutely NONE of the models had winglets !!!!! I was left scratching my head in wonder, but, as I'd only paid a couple of UK pounds, I won't complain, but, it makes you think what else they get up to.Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  9. Do you mean the Payware Aerosoft scenery for Ben Gurion X, or, the freebie content, which may not cover as much of the area as the Aerosoft product. Have a look on Youtube for any videos of Tel Aviv in FSX.Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  10. I have, not 5 seconds ago, managed to get on to the megasceneryearth website, so, I cannot agree with the original poster's comments about his problem with the website access, which could have been attributed to a number of issues, anyway, the website is fully functional at this precise moment.I partly agree with his comments with reviews, but, as has already been stated, you don't get paid to do it, and what qualifications / experience / knowledge do you need to possess to give an impartial review of any content which may slate the Payware supplier's assets to such a degree that their sales will suffer, and of course, I personally have all of the various texture and environment enhancers, thousands of aircraft and hundreds of airports on my computer which MAY give false readings when playing with any product and it's likely that even if it works fine on my PC, it might not work on yours, in which case you would feel completely miffed at having spent your money on an item that doesn't give you satisfactory results, in which case, WHO IS TO BLAME, me for giving you a duff review, OR, the Payware vendor for issuing you with an inferior product ??This is possibly another reason why Joe Public doesn't give public reviews, as, anything inferior would make him lose his street cred on various Flight Simulation forums around the world, some of us have a reputation to maintain.......LOLCheerz. 11. Thank you, I've had a look at these, there are rather a lot of them, I may have to download the areas that just have airports / airstrips in them specifically.Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  12. Many thanks Paul, I did look at the FAQ on the bluesky website, but, they never ask the questions you have in your head, so, I couldn't find anything relevant to my query, that's why I came on here.Q2 came about because on the bluesky website they did state that the older scenery areas they have created were obviously done in FS9, the newer stuff is done in FSX, subsequently, you need to change the graphics settings accordingly between normal and high to take into effect the difference in the texture resolutions, I think I'll do some tweaking and see what happens. Thanks also to Opa, as I have downloaded the folders from both libraries, I decided to ask the same question on both forums to double up the possibility of answers.Cheerz. Transport Steve.
  13. Hello,I'm a noob and I'm a little confused about the scenery folders I've downloaded today.I've obtained the various folders for the Californian cities created by the blueskyscenery developers, which have thrown up 2 questions : -1)In the "Read Me" notes it states that after you have installed the scenery folders, you go into FSX and in settings you click on the scenery pack you've installed to commence flying. However, I wanted to fly from Burbank to Long Beach, both airports have separate download folders, so, which scenery folder do I click on, the airport I'm taking off from, or, the airport I'm landing at, unless, you can click on both scenery packs, although, it doesn't state that anywhere in the FSX manual.2)Some of these scenery folders you can download I need to alter the res settings to high, however, if you fly from say, Los Angeles to San Fransisco, the LA airport is high res, but, I assume that when you land at San Fran, you've gone back onto the default textures which are low res; would this affect frame rates significantly ??Any ideas or suggestions please ??Cheerz.Transport Steve.
