  1. H Hi, I fly online with a group called the Bristol Flight Sim Group(BFSG) There are 3 sub groups, the General Aviation (GA) The Dash 8 (Majestic) group and the Commercial Jet group who fly the big jets. You can expect a warm welcome from all these groups if you are interested in flying online. Dave
  2. Hi,My machine spec is as follows... i7 950 @3.07 ghz, 12gb ram, win7 64bit , EVGA gtx 970 graphics card. P3D v 2.5 + latest hotfixes . I run the Majestic Q400 (Latest updates installed) I think this is an aircraft of broadly similar complexity, where I get a typical framerate of 35-40 . It is noticeable that as soon as I select any of the XP850 variants in the 'vehicle' select page my simulator immediately goes to this .3 fps which of course make flying the aircraft impossible. I hope this information might shed some light on this problem.
  3. Hi,I agree with Robsys,Gary 360 and many others who have bought this ,for many, seriously flawed aircraft. I too will almost certainly not give a second glance to anything offered in the future by Carenado. I have sent many requests to their support department(I'm really surprised they bother having one) and received no useful replies. The only way now for me to consider another Carenado product is if they communicate to me (they have my email address) the means to get the XP850 flying properly with a suitable apology. I do not expect either any time soon. The subject of this aircraft comes up frequently with the online flight sim group that I fly with, needless to say Carenado won't be getting much in the way of new customers there.
  4. Hi ,I do hope that if Eaglesoft do a v3.0 of the Citation X.It will be for P3D v 2 as well. I have bought the Carenado XP850 (Big ,big mistake) I've had it over 9 weeks now and it hasn't left the ground yet due to very slow frame rate (.3 pfs ) Carenado appear to have 'washed their hands' of this aircraft. Be warned if you are considering buying this aircraft, it may work for you,but if it doesn't,you are probably 'on your own'.
  5. Hi,I'd be very interested to know how big a membership this club of ours has. When you consider that each one of us has probably spent $50 or so buying this aircraft it represents a very considerable amount of money. It is very disappointing that one of the posters earlier in this topic referred to us as Carenado knockers(or words to that effect) because we have highlighted the faults of the XP850 and its support by Carenado. It sounded to me like 'Well mine's all right,it must be your fault'
  6. One thing is clear to me. There some lucky people, who, for some reason have had little or no problems at all with the XP850, I unfortunately am one of the unfortunates who ,after over 2 months, have yet to get this (very attractive static model) off the ground. I'm beginning to wonder if I ever will due to the total lack of interest shown by Carenado. I bought this aircraft because I have bought Carenado in the past without very much in the way of problems and it gives me no satisfaction to write these comments. I am led to wonder if the support department of Carenado are too busy with their newest offering ,the PA31 Navajo to sort out the XP850's problems. I am very glad for those of you that are happy with this aircraft,I wish I were one of you. In the absence of any help from Carenado ( I'm not really expecting any now, I am now awaiting the release (for P3Dv 2) the Eaglesoft Citation X . I know one thing,I will hesitate in wasting good money on another Carenado product in the future
  7. Hi C525B, Hi, I must say I find it a bit strange addressing you in this way,it sounds like I'm talking to a robot and I'm sure you are not., About 7 weeks ago I bought this aircraft from Flightsim store in order to progress from the Majestic Q400 Dash8 (it works very well on my system) The XP850 however has not got off the ground yet due to a frame rate of less than 1 (.3 actually) fps. It is installed in P3D v2.5+ (latest hotfix installed). I know a lot of people swear by this aircraft ,while some have my problem of slow frame rate. Do you think it possible that this aircraft is NOT suitable for P3D? Carenado,it would seem, are too preoccupied elsewhere to be of any assistance in this matter. I want to start flying a business jet with updateable (Navigraph) so may have to look elsewhere if I cannot get this aircraft flying soon. It will be a pity, I may have to wait for Eaglesoft to bring out their Citation X for P3D v2.5
  8. Hi Bert ,I watched the FsMania video yesterday on Youtube, I am very impressed by what I saw. Unfortunately I am one of those who cannot get the XP850 of the ground due to ridiculously low frame rates. I am pretty sure it is not due to my PC not have the capability to run this aircraft. My i7 based machine has 12gb ram and an Nvidia GTX 970 g/card ,also P3D v2.5 It runs the Majestic Q400 without a problem 35-45 fps. Carenado have been no help whatsoever, maybe they are concentrating on their new Piper twin (or am I being cynical) I would say the Dash 8 is of similar complexity to the 850. I hope that when/if I am able to get into the air with the XP850 I will be able to try your very nice upgrade.
  9. Thanks for that info, I still don't understand why the REVERSE PITCH/THRUST command appears to be missing from P3D when its available on FSX as command F2 .In P3D that command corresponds a 'decrease throttle quickly' which doesn't mean the same thing (perhaps it does in Lockheed Martin language)
  10. Hi ,I am wanting to Map my throttle quadrant (Saitek) for use with jets and turboprops .There does not seem to be an equivalent control to the control that is in FSX (F2 press and hold ) in P3D V2.5. Surely this control has not been deleted in P3D . Is there a control in P3D for this purpose?
  11. Hi ,It is very frustrating to watch all these videos about this aircraft when ,after 6 weeks, I cannot get past this slow framerate problem, which, for me (and I believe some others) renders it as only a static ground model. There has been no help from Carenado of any substance. Perhaps they are more concerned with their new Piper Navajo (or am I being cynical?
  12. Hi Rchard, I have my XP 850 on P3D v2..5 (no FSX now) I have also got the Majestic Q400 that flies perfectly on the same machine (no fps issues at all) I have carried out the permission s fix on the support page without any luck . I have had this aircraft on my system now for nearly 6 weeks without leaving the ground. Its a great pity because I wanted to get a bit of 'jet time ' in as well as the 'Dash 8'. I would like to persevere with this aircraft but am starting to look at the alternatives like the Eaglesoft Citation X which also has the Navigraph updatable FMC when it is released for P3D. In the meantime I shall continue to admire your repaints for the XP 850 and hope that I will get to use one one day.
  13. Hi, I must say I agree with Djang0 as far as Facebook is concerned. I have only registered on it for the sole purpose of obtaining information on Q400 'PRO', nothing else. I am a member of the Q400 forum but as it seems to play second fiddle to Facebook its not a lot of use as far as information is concerned.
  14. Hi, Would it not be a good idea for painters to do 2 versions of a paint job. A pristine clean new paint job straight of the factory and a 'used ' one thats looking a bit 'second hand@ Great work Richard........ Its a pity though that my xp850 wont fly (due to rubbish framerate .3 fps) Its amazing that some lucky blighters can fly around and some, like me. have had the aircraft for over a month sitting on the tarmac.
