  1. Ok so are NATS airways or more like waypoints? In other words, are they paths, or just points to fly to?
  2. Hey folks! Just wondering, how do pilots create flight paths over the ocean? Are there waypoints over the ocean? Or is it more direct? Or less direct? thanks!
  3. we all know that, but 300fpm isn't normal
  4. rest assured, I plan on poking my head out the window
  5. PMDG team, I was wondering if the beacon light will illuminate the wing and engine cowling at night like in the real world? I was very surpirsed when i realized this doesn't happen on the NGX, especially when you consider it did happen with the NG in FS2004. To me it adds additional realism when flying at night. What do you guys think, do you want to see it on the 777? Thanks!
  6. I assume it will have the performance data of the non winglet aircraft right? It worked wonderfuly creating the liver, just look at this screenshot!

    Sounds

The NGX does have the +100 option I know exactly what hydraulic sound you are referring to! My question is, right before touch down you can hear the sound, is that to prepare for speed brake deployment? I the speedbrakes are not armed, I wonder if it would make the sound??
  8. Hello folks, If I have an existing livery with winlgets, lets say Continental, is there an easy way to make one without winglets? Like just deleting this or that? I do have photoshop if that helps. thanks
  9. 1.) have you installed it on one computer or multiple ones? If multiple ones that might be causing a problem 2.) email the team, they were able to help me when this happened to me. It happened to me though on one computer and it was because I had messed up with something that I don't even remember. ahah

    New 777 pics

Could someone repost those recent 777 pics? For me, they just say attachment=40384:PMDG_777200LR_8.jpg ........ Anyways, my internet went out for one day and of course its the day that they got posted! Im kinda hyperventilating knowing they're out there and I havent seen them! anyways please help me out! Thanks!!!! edit: just realized it was the original pictures and that someone had just commented on that old post bringing it to the top of the forum. Sorry!!!!!
  11. i found one on live atc of a BA 747 at KSFO having to divert after 2 failed landing attempts. But from the recordings, it was because of wind and miniumum fuel not because of other traffic.
  12. I think they're going to make a paper airplane and write 777 on the side, and charge $60. That's usually the quality of PMDG's products. I mean seriously what's with these people? :Phbbbt: but for real, what kind of a question was that? Have you ever seen even a glimpse of a PMDG product?
  13. which is why i don't understand why she would permit the 757 to pass a 737 whats the BA recording called? I'm trying to find it on liveatc
  14. Thats what I was thinking but then I don't know why she told the 757 to pass another airplane. That would seem to contradict the purpose of dont overtake
  15. Well think about airports where the taxi time out is only a few minute s becaause the airport is relatively small. you dont have time to "feel out the engines" in those situations. Besides the engines have a mandatory warm up time before take off anyways. They'll be on for several minutes for takeoff no matter what. for now they're only planning on the 737 and a320 it appears to be in the very near future. I for one am for it. it reduces engine wear, decreases noise ( since the engines will be off) and pollution/ fuel consumption. What's not to like? If the APU is inop, then you simply would use a traditional tug. Note also that if the APU is inop at least one of the engines would have to be started at the gate anyways, since the APU supplies the Air to get the engines starting. In which case the crew would taxi out in the tradional manor. Thats one of the benefits of this prouct. If anything goes wron, you simply use traditional taxiing and pushback.
  16. so what would cause an overheat? Also, does the overheat have to be set up in the failures menu, or would being out on a very hot day trip it?
  17. oh ok that would make sense. I thought they always remained on while the switch was on (unless an overheat). I guess this characteristic would happen more on hot days?
  18. The window heat lights in my NGX won't stay on. They will randomly turn off and on. There is no failure indicated, there is no overheat, there doesn't seem to be anything going on. This issue has only been happening in probably the last month or so. I think it may have happened to me before any of the Service Packs came out, but then it was resolved. Now its randomly acting up again. Any insight?
  19. Hello all! So I'll often hear "don't over take the traffic" for aircrafton parallel landings. Particularily prominent at SFO. Anyways, Im wondering what are the details of this instruction. Is it usually a larger aircraft that is not allowed to pass a smaller, or the reverse? Perhaps to avoid a larger aircraft's wake turbulence? Also, two times in a row (while listening to LiveATC) I've heard "you may over take the traffic" why would the instruction change? In one these instances the aircraft asked why the other guy was allowed to pass to which the controllwer said because he is a 757. Any insight would be appreciated.
  20. select 180, in speed selector, after dumba reduce to final with flaps and gear. thats how its done in the real life and it works in the sim. I've done 210 until 10 DME and haven't had a problem reducing to final before 1000feet. Its all about timing the flaps and gear extension. Also feel free to use speedbrakes throguh flaps 15 to slow you down. At this phase in flight using VNAV isn't common, Level Change would be much more. Or better yet if you're established, arm APR mode and hand fly her using the FD. I personally prefer to use level change, rather than VNAV for most climbing and and descending. It is especially efficient for descent because it utilizes idle thrust through the descent. I have met plenty of pilots who prefer level change to VNAV.
  21. Check out the product produced by wheel tug that allows aircraft to pushback and taxi with a motor powered by the APU and connected to the nose wheel. Apparently there are already 200 products reserved in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Neat stuff! http://media.wheeltug.com/
  22. I dont have the problem. I dont have any add on scenery though.
  23. it has been discussed and PMDG never commented. to sum up the other post, most people said they wanted to see an instant fueling option, AND an MD11 style refueling option.
