  1. As I understand, Engine Anti Ice & Wing Anti Ice should be used for all ground operations when OAT < 10C & Visable Moisture.Same for EAI in the air, not sure about wing anti-ice though in the air.
  2. IMHO they produce a better, brighter image compared to the matte screens.
  3. HiMy monitor is not situated in a bright room so reflections wont be a big issue. Thanks for your replies!!
  4. Hi GuysI am looking for a new monitor, either 24" or 27". I really like the high gloss screens and reflections are not an issue.Any recommendations? Thanks
  5. I love the booming "V1" call out on takeoff, hope that will be there
  6. Hi GuysSorry if this seems to be a stupid question... I have been watching some videos and noticed that during the approach, the captain keeps his hands on the throttles before the autopilot is disconnected. Is it normal to manually operate the throttle with the autopilot engaged? When is the A/THR usually disconnected? Thanks!!!!
  7. Hey GuysSo I am looking at the approach charts for 7R at Anchorage, they have seperate charts CAT II & III (top) and an ILS Approach chart (bottom)For the CAT II & III approach, I understand that I would set Radio & DH of 100. So this would give me radio altimeter call out "MINIUMUMS" at 100 feet above the runway... if no runway in sight, go around! For the CAT I approach, I would set BARO & DA of 740. This would give me the call out 588 feet above the runway (740 above sea level)
  8. Cool guys.. thanks, didn't expect so many replies this quickly!I guess we are all spending a lot of time around these forums at the moment anticipating the next update!!
  9. Hi AllThe FCOM is not really specific about which lights to use and when.Stobe - FCOM says to turn these ON when entering the departure runway. Do you turn them OFF when vacating the runway after landing?Logo Light - I understand this should be on dusk to dawn... is it normal to leave it on the whole flight, or only below 10,000 feet?Wing Illumination Lights - not sure when these should be used or what they are for?Navigation Lights - are these only required dusk to dawn, or are they always on all day?Wheel Well - are these only for ground personel?Runway Turnoff - Are these only used for taxi, or would you have them ON for T/O & landing as well?KR's
  10. Hi GuysIf you fly an approach in VNAV, does the aircraft automatially decelerate towards VREF or do you need to set it manually in the speed window? Also can someone explain at what point you would reduce to VREF and if the speed is reduced in steps?Kindest Regards
  11. Hey GuysThis might have been answered before but I couldn't confirm it... Do we know if the FMC will be 10.8 with VNAV takeoff capability? Also will automatic ignition be simulated? Thanks
  12. Thanks Tom, so if there is no auto position (as in screenshots so far), do you need to manually move the switch to CONT for takeoff, landing, under heavy rain and whenever anti-ice is on?
  13. Hi GuysAnother question, this time about engine start switches!! After start, you position the engine start switches to CONT. Do you leave them in CONT all flight?Regards
  14. Thanks, I understand now. So you set flaps to up at the 1 speed.
  15. Thanks for the replies!! Let me check if my understanding is correct...So at the thrust reduction altitude, press N1 to reduce to climb power (or does it engage automatically?)At the acceleration height, call for "Bug Up" and reposition the magenta triangle to the 1 speed. FD will command pitch down and the aircraft accelerates. If flaps were 5 or higher for takeoff, retract one stage and then retract on schedule (5, 1 as displayed on PFD).Questions - Are the accel height and thrust reduction generally the same? Also are there any prompts displayed e.g. on A320 LVR CLB flashes? If no prompts, would you set on the minimums selector?
  16. Hi GuysI am learning the normal procedures in readiness for the release of the NG!!!I have a question about when is the APU normally started? In the boeing procedures, it is part of the preflight prep but says it can be delayed until just before start. It then goes on to state APU bleeds ON, should this item be skipped if you are delaying apu start? Also can anyone explain what is meant by the call out "bug up" in the climbout?Regards
