SOLVED!!! Jim you are absolutely amazing. That was the DLL causing all the errors. I did then have still games not responding, but after adjusting compatibility settings it works a dream. Thank you to both of you, but particularly Jim for solving the issue!

Is there another way to restore from a previous image? Or to roll back updates to a specific date when things did work? It doesn't make sense though because I made NO changes whatsoever (apart from SweetFX uninstall) between it working and not working. Again, help is most appreciated

Hi, After installing, and then removing SweetFX GUI from FS9, I am getting the following error message when booting up FS9: "Error while unpacking program, code LP6. Please error message to author." The following appears to be causing the crash in the event viewer: Faulting module path: C:\Windows\syswow64\ole32.dll After running a HotFix from Microsoft, I am not getting the ole32.dll error anymore, but I still get the LP6 error message. I don't know if SweetFX is to blame, but it happened after I installed and removed it (have tried the backup .exe I created before installing it, but it just crashes straight away without the error message). Help is MUCH appreciated.
  6. Hahaha thanks for the reply Luis I will let it rebuild a new one and start fresh. I have tried that of recent with no considerable improvement, but I'll give it a go again. If there's anything else anyone can suggest that may contribute as well, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help again Luis!
  7. Hi, I'm gonna start by listing my specs bellow, but I am having issues with performance. Windows 7 Intel® Core™ 2 Duo CPU @ 2.53GHz 4060mb RAM ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 series (512mb, GDDR3) CPU load averages 60-70% when running FS9 FS9 uses around 500mb memory, peaking to 3gb total RAM usage As of late, even with all the sliders turned down I am getting under 20fps at default airports. My PC is only about 2-3 years old, and I would assume it could run FS9 quite decently. I have had this issue for a few months now, I don't remember what I was getting before, but I could run pretty high AI at EGLL with FPS above 25 (although I don't usually use AI because of VATSIM flying). If you could assist me in maybe some tweaks I could add into my FS9.cfg (I have already done some, but I'm no expert in that field) or anything else that could be done to increase performance. Help is much appreciated
  8. Thankyou Ryan!! I have been waiting for a good YSSY since it is my home airport. If you need any testing done, feel free to PM me (although I'm sure you have plenty of eager beta testers here already ). All the best for this rather large effort, I look forward to seeing the results! Regards, Brendan
  9. Umberto, why are you not continuing to support the community of FS9 users? The reason I will not migrate back to FSX as it is not stable. Sure for looks, it is a bit better, but for a person who flies for the realism of flying an aircraft that depicts the real world counterpart well, FS9 is the better bet. If I were just flying for visuals, then of course FSX would be the option, but like me and many others, I resent to the unstable program that is FSX.
  10. Thanks for the replies, I will continue to investigate until I have found a solution. I don't see why developers are favouring FSX over FS9....much of the community still uses it, and is incredibly more stable than FSX. I understand the detail and quality isn't quite up to scratch with FSX, but I personally don't mind. Until I have ensured that P3D is a COMPLETELY bug free alternative of FSX, I'm staying with FS9. Microsoft, you really screwed up with FSX.
  11. Okay no duplicates, I'll see if any other scenery is impacting my FPS
  12. Thanks very much Ian, I will give that a go and report back the results.
  13. No worries. So what is it about this duplicate AFCAD? Could this be impacting on performance if there were?
