I agree with them, Bob, I just think it's overemphasised in the NGX. For example I use "Gates" in the Real world that work well for slowing down into certain airports, these don't seem to work in the NGX in the same wx conditions. Craig Wilson 737-300/800 First officer - Jet2.com

Malaga Runway 13 is a good example of when you can have a large tailwind on approach. It's right on the coast and you can often run with a 15kt tailwind all the way down until a few hundred feet until you hit the sea-breeze. With a 3.2 glideslope on runway 13 the landing Gear is often needed early to bring the speed back. Shifty

I have a 240gb SSD for windows flight sim and other games. I also have another 500gb hard drive for films music and all that other good stuff. If your building a high end rig it will feel bottleneck until you speed your hard drive up. SSD prices have dropped dramatically over the years and I think it's no brainer. You will also notice textures load a lot quicker in Fsx and from PC boot to aircraft parked at the stand takes about 1 min if that. Regards Craig

Very nice set up you will have Martin. For Christmas though make sure santa brings you an SSD I use an OCZ agility 3 240GB and it made the biggest difference to my PC and gaming for a long time FPS won't go up but with the spare time you will have not waiting for things to load you can start a new hobby, Like break dancing or spear fishing. I use Rex textures, they work well for me, and yes I will be changing from Activesky to Opus :-). I had a cruise wind 40 degrees left of the nose at about 61kts. Thanks for the comments Craig

Just purchased Opus weather engine and tested it with a flight to Innsbruck. This will now replace AS2012. Regards Craig

Hi Martin. I went from a Asus GTX 560TI Top to an Asus GTX 670 and noticed a difference in performance in FSX. the 670 works a treat for me and FSX runs smooth as silk. My other specs: Asrock Z68 extreme 4 i5 2500k at 4.6ghz OCZ agility 3 240GB 8gb corsair vengeance Hope this helps Craig
