  1. I agree with them, Bob, I just think it's overemphasised in the NGX. For example I use "Gates" in the Real world that work well for slowing down into certain airports, these don't seem to work in the NGX in the same wx conditions. Craig Wilson 737-300/800 First officer - Jet2.com
  2. Ah ok, no problem, thanks for a reply anyway Dan. I personally think decelerating from about 250kts to UP speed doesn't react like the real aircraft. It was only a minor thing anyway, its close enough. Craig Wilson 737-300/800 First officer - Jet2.com
  3. Good evening all, Don't suppose anyone knows if you can alter the Profile drag in the NGX settings? I would like to increase it a little. Many thanks. ~Shifty~
  4. Malaga Runway 13 is a good example of when you can have a large tailwind on approach. It's right on the coast and you can often run with a 15kt tailwind all the way down until a few hundred feet until you hit the sea-breeze. With a 3.2 glideslope on runway 13 the landing Gear is often needed early to bring the speed back. Shifty
  5. Hi In my Company we use a cost index of 6, this gives us a descent speed of 250kts, that's on a 737-300. Regards Shifty
  6. Nice Best Airline :-)
  7. I have a 240gb SSD for windows flight sim and other games. I also have another 500gb hard drive for films music and all that other good stuff. If your building a high end rig it will feel bottleneck until you speed your hard drive up. SSD prices have dropped dramatically over the years and I think it's no brainer. You will also notice textures load a lot quicker in Fsx and from PC boot to aircraft parked at the stand takes about 1 min if that. Regards Craig
  8. First post to say don't buy opus. I'm intrigued.....do you know something I don't? If so please tell. Cheers Craig.
  9. Nothing, I Wish I could dance like the jabbawockeez :-). I have windows and FSX installed on my SSD. Loading times are a thing of the past. Craig
  10. I did for the departure and arrival but not for en-route. I will have a look at work tomorrow though. Regards Craig
  11. Very nice set up you will have Martin. For Christmas though make sure santa brings you an SSD I use an OCZ agility 3 240GB and it made the biggest difference to my PC and gaming for a long time FPS won't go up but with the spare time you will have not waiting for things to load you can start a new hobby, Like break dancing or spear fishing. Regards Craig
  12. I use Rex textures, they work well for me, and yes I will be changing from Activesky to Opus :-). I had a cruise wind 40 degrees left of the nose at about 61kts. Thanks for the comments Craig
  13. Just purchased Opus weather engine and tested it with a flight to Innsbruck. This will now replace AS2012. Regards Craig
  14. Hi Martin. I went from a Asus GTX 560TI Top to an Asus GTX 670 and noticed a difference in performance in FSX. the 670 works a treat for me and FSX runs smooth as silk. My other specs: Asrock Z68 extreme 4 i5 2500k at 4.6ghz OCZ agility 3 240GB 8gb corsair vengeance Hope this helps Craig
  15. New Livery, new Scenery. Love them both. Finally got FSX running very smooth as well Hope you like Shifty
  16. Hi,It is to protect the fuselage from Ice that builds up on the propellers and then is throwing off into the side of the aircraft.Craig.
  17. Ah cool. Might just do that Cheers Mark. Shifty
  18. Nah I havent Mark. As for the overclock, I just used the Pick a CPU speed in the Asrock bios setup, picked 4.6 which seems to be stable. Last time I tried messing about with voltages it all went Pete Tong lol. My FSX config was put through the Bojote's tweak website. FSX settings - Cloud draw is 60mi and I use Nvidia Inspector Shifty
  19. Thanks mark. Yeah I tired 30 but it doesnt seem to work well on my system. So I just kept putting it up by 5 until I found the smoothest setting. System spec: Asrock extreme4 z68, i5 2500K @ 4.6, Asus GTX560 ti top, 4gb 1600, very similar to your setup I see Shifty
  20. A couple of shots from my flight today from LFLB to EGNT. The flight was very smooth and my FPS seems to be stable now. I use an external Limiter and found setting it to 55 works best for me. I use ASE, UTX Europe, REX 2....JET2 livery is amazing Btw!
  21. Cost index's are dropping fast due to the rise in fuel price's. I remember back in 2006 Easyjet 73G's used 35. And Jet 2 are now down to 8. Craig.
  22. I would say that Is industry standard It looks very complicated how you wrote it though. (Well for me it does ) Just 3 x your height......25 Thousand = 75NM. Continuously do this sum all the way down to manage your approach. You can -1NM per knot of headwind and +1 NM per knot of tailwind. A few of the 737 Drivers I know just press the meters button because 1 m = 3.281 ft. So you can just read your meters in height for your distance in NM you require. Craig.
  23. Like wing views? Ah It would be funny If O'leary pushed the authorities to get the NGX approved for LPC/OPC checks. Craig
  24. Ryanair have 3 MTOW. The engineer's just change the Panel in the flight deck and sign if off to suit the Daily needs of the aircraft. The lower the better as they pay lower fee's 66990kgs69900kgsForgot the 3rd as it's been so long. 72990kgs maybe. Just thought it might interest a couple of people. Craig.
