Hi,Anyone else have this issue? When you load up PMDG 737NGX with default configuration and are sitting at a gate or something, the 737NG is moving forward ever so slowly even if the parking break is set on. Thrust leavers are at idle. You only notice it really if you've been sitting for a while programming the FMC then look up and the gate is so much closer than it was before. If you stare out any of the windows you can tell you're moving forward pixel by pixel. If left to its own devices the aircraft would eventually crash into the gate (would take a long time but would get there eventually). Anyone?Cheers,Garry Noble

Hi,I'm in the process getting ready to start building my first project, an MCP. Only thing i'm stuck at is what strength of resistor to use in an LED circuit. I'm new to electronics but have done a bit of research so I understand the general concept behind resistors and why they are needed.What i'm wanting to do is daisy chain 6 LEDs together on the same circuit. I understand i need to use a resistor so that all LEDs are at the same brightness? (correct me if i'm wrong) Only thing is what resistor to use? Tried a couple of calculators on the net but ended up confused so thought i'd turn to the forum for help.If it helps, the details from the LED datasheet is below:Average power per LED - 80mWPeak Forward Current per LED - 60mADC Forward Current per LED - 20mAReverse Voltage per LED - 3VForward Voltage - Typ 2.2V, Max 2.5VReverse Voltage - Min 3V, Max 50V (think this might be a typo and should read 5V?)Any help would be greatly appreciated,ThanksGarry

Dion,Thanks for the links, I have checked them out and there is some pretty good stuff there. I know this can get expensive but i'm not putting it all together in one go, want to add bits here and there over time. I had previously looked at opencockpits and particularly at their I/O boards, they seem to be widely used so should be well supported so i'll probably go for them.Most of the MCP panels i've seen out there are the older style ones. The one i'm looking for is the one on simworld.pl. Only thing being is they don't appear to sell the A/P disconnect switch so will need to hunt around for that.Garry

stuff looks good but expensive plus i would like to build things myself. takes the fun out of it if its pre-made. I'm looking to start real simple. Maybe try and simulate something like the autopilot being switched on. I press the button, somehow a signal gets sent to the pc and flight sim sends a signal the other way telling a LED to light up to say the autopilot is engaged. Once i get this concept I should be good to go.Sending the button press to the PC, what is the best way to do this? I did find a joystick emulator by some guy called Leo Badnar which looks relatively straight forward for inputting info into the PC but how does it work the other way round? Can the emulator be used to light up an LED?Garry

HiI'm looking to start building a 737NG cockpit now that I've got the new PMDG 737NGX. I had looked at doing a build before but was overwhelmed by the amount of information out there, I just didn't know where to start. Ideally I'd like to start building something reasonably small but that I could get a lot of use out of. I was thinking along the lines of the MCP. I like the idea of wiring everything up and buying LEDs, switches etc but I want it to look half decent, I want to get proper switches and LEDS. I'm a complete noob when it comes to circuit boards and stuff but am willing to learn. Where to start? Any help would be greatly appreciatedGarry

So i'm guessing theres no fix to this then? i wonder if there's some sort of script i could come up with that would every now and again do the sound on/off thing for you allowing you to spend more time concentrating on flying and less on the shortcomings of FSX

I could do that and that would do more or less the same thing as pausing and unpausing, in effect forcing it to use the correct engine pitch but I'm wondering what's causing it in the first place

HiGot this really annoying issue with the PMDG 737NGX engine sounds and wondering if this happens to anyone else...Flying along a cruise level, engines humming along as they should. Flying the approach which the engines throttled back and then it hits me...the engine is still at the same noise level as if its still in the cruise. I hit pause then unpause and all is well, back to the way it should be. Does this fairly often and its bugging me. (hope this makes sense)Anyone else experiencing this?Thanks,Garry

Jim, seems to be running nicely now. Might have just been a combination of needing the defrag and traffic settings lowered. no more stuttering.Thanks for all your help and i'll be sure to check out that link.Garry

HiRecently built a new system which I thought would run FSX like a dream which it does...kind of. I was expecting a bit more from it to be honest. Here's my dilema:Fresh installation of FSX Deluxe with both service packs installed...(no addons, scenery etc)Got the PMDG 737NGX, installed it and followed the Introduction PDF that came with it. I changed my scenery/weather etc. settings as per the PDF and also used the tool by ******* Altuve www.venetubo.com/fsx.html and made the necessary tweaks based on my hardware.I start up FSX using FPS limiter at 30FPS and start a flight. Seems OK, fairly smooth but every now and again the frame rate drops to something like 10FPS which makes everything jerk for a split second. I decide to start up with FPS limiter not running to see how high the FPS is sitting with unlimited framerate selected. It runs between 30-50FPS.Correct me if i'm wrong but given the hardware i'm running (listed below) and from what I've seen on other people YouTube videos, should I not be getting better than this?Any opinions would be greatly appreciated,ThanksGarry
