  1. Hello MrA, Auto Rudder is an optional setting in the running Program - Auto Trim is a permanent setting located in the FSX/P3d Configuration file - C:\Users\user name\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft Games or Lockheed Martin\FSX or P3d\ FSX.cfg - or P3d.cfg File - Under the [REALISM] heading Check it out - See if You can make Your Trim Wheel and Elevator Tab Twitch !! Try flying the airplane with it on - sort of like a Flint Stone auto pilot !! Really makes trimming the airplane up EASY ! More time to look for Burma Shave signs !! Having FUN Flying B) Johnman
  2. Oops, I might Add that I am setting the Auto Trim ( True/False ) in the FSX/P3d ( *.cfg ) Configuration File. Am I the only Simmer that this Bothers ?? Johnman
  3. Hello Forum, Running Fsx/P3d in Windows 7/64 - and I am expreiancing a bit of agrivation - I have looked around and can't seem to find an answer - even it looks to be a common problem ?? When I set the auto trim to true - in any plane - the vertical trim wheel and the trim tab get very nervous - just flipping up and down ?? - when autotrim is set to false things smoth out and act normal . un fortunatly I enjoy flying with auto trim on - saves a lot of aggrevation - chasing the aircraft all around - constantly trimming - would really appreciate an answer to this !! Thanks in advance Johnman
  4. Hey Fullthrottle, Assuming that You are Running Windows 7/64bit ?? P3d is a 32 bit program - which means it should be installed in the 32 bit program folder - ( X86 ) - when LM Re-Writes P3D into a 64 bit Program - Then they will re-write the installer to install it into the 64 bit Folder - " Program Files ". My Windows 7/64 P3D is installed in the " program files ( X86 ) - 32 bit folder - and I run My Computer as Administrator - So I do not have that conflict with permissions . If You are having a conflict - running P3D in the ( X86 ) folder - then Re install it to the ( C:\ Drive ) - The " Programs Folder " is for 64 bit Programs . You can rest assured that LM has written the Installer to install the Program into the proper folder . How is Your P3D running as installed now ?? - Good Luck ! Johnman
  5. Hello DeskPilot, I am running FSX and P3d 1.4 side by side With NO Agrivation - Like any other Windows Program - they Run Independintly !! Have Fun Flying !! Johnman
  6. Hello Vonmar, I'm running P3d v 1.4 - and I don't know what FLOLS are - but I ran across this online - http://www.lockonfiles.com/files/file/2699-prepar3d-ai-carriers-fix/ Its for P3d ver 2.0 - But it May be what You are looking for ?? Johnman
  7. Hey Guys, I feel that LM is being very Wise in its treatment of Us " Casual Users " - We seem to be way more Vocal than the " Serious Users " - and this leads them to a Quicker insight to problems with the program - and enables them to correct the more prominent Issues - in a timely Manner ! Sort of a Pathway around the EULA Swamp !! " We " are allowed to use them - Because " We " are usefull to them - over and above The Boost in Revenue. And I don't think either Comunity would be able to fully support the Simm alone . This also allows either community to look into a more robust Forum and see how Users feel about P3D . EEGad Wher did that all come fram !! Johnman
  8. Hello Paul, If You have waited this long to swap - and are considering P3DV2 - You may be better off waiting a Month or 2 until after the first revision - I think it would be a much smoother and enjoyable transition after they work out a few Buggs ! I'm running Ver 1.4 for now - and I am going to go 64bit Win 7 and work that out before I make the V2 move ! However I am Totally looking forward to the V2.?? move ! - Also Hoping the Addon Market will EXPLODE in the meantime !!! Good Luck and ENJOY FLY'IN That SIM !! Johnman
  9. Hey All, this is turning into a neat topic !! I'm going to tryout Japan - Hawaii is also FUN !! As We Used to say at Mohawk - Have a Nice Flight !! Johnman
  10. Hey JVanE, Some of The Areas that I have Allways Found interesting to Fly - Are - the West Coast - From Portland North on UP into Southern Alaska - There are endless Mountins - Coast line - Beaches - Cllifs - Fijords - Some of the More Detailed Cities - Bela Cola Valley !! - (out af Vancouver) - I spend a lot of time Cruising around Ketchican and Juneau . Anchorage down to Kenai - Seward - Kodiak . I like to get up into the Mountains in a Super Cub and find a Pass !! - Also - The Iris AT6 Texan 2 - is an incredible aircraft - Stable and easy to control - set Your Altitude with Your Trim - and it stays there. Exceptionally Detailed - and FREE ! - Its NOT a VAS Hog !! - Additional Liverys ect are available FREE on the Iris Website !! Also something else I would like to Add - To Add to the enjoyment - of Hands Off Flying - In Your P3d Config File is a seetting that eases My mind enormously - Under Realism - set Auto trim = True ! No more Chasing the altimeter All Over The Place. No matter which Flight Sim You fly - these Areas will give You Some of the Nicest Scenery - Down Close - 1500ft ! - in the Sim . Add Note : Im flying P3D V1.4 For Now - I want to Upgrade My Computer and Let You Guys work out the kinks in V2 before I Switch ! So Let Me know what You think in the meantime !! Johnman
  11. Hello IPW , This worked for Me Go into Your Control Panal and Remove Your Joy Stick Driver - Then reboot and let it reinstall !! If that doesn't work - Go to the manufacturers Website and make sure You have the latest Driver - Download and install !! If that doesn't Work - Remove Your Driver again and try to install the Generic MS or Windows Driver for the Joystick that You have. After each step - make sure that You check Your Axis Assignments ( Axes 7 ( I believe )) in Your P3D Settings Menue ! - You may have to reboot Your Computer after each step ! Also You can Calibrate Your Joystick in the Settings Menue - Checking the Windows side ! After You get Your Throttle Untangled - Go into Your Settings and Set Your Senitivities to - ( Null - 0 ) - And sensitivity - ( Max ) ! Hopefully this will get You off the F1 and F4 Buttons ! Good Luck and ENJOY a Great Flight Simm !! Let Us know if This Helps ?? Johnman 11
  12. Hey sjb5001, Make Sure the Panal and Sound Files in the drag and drop aircraft - do NOT Alais an Aircraft or folder that is not installed in Your P3d simobjects/aircraft folder ! ie ( c172 ) ! Most FSX Aircraft will just Drag across ! - but You may have to fiddle with the panal and sound files ! Good Luck ! Johnman
  13. Hey All, You Never Know until You kickerin theguts and therein lies the secret of Havvin Fun with this Hobby !! P3d Rocks !!  Johnman
  14. Hey Gingerterry, Go for the best Processor You can afford - Preferably Pentium - and Allways go for the fastest in its class - definatly aver 3.0 ghz ! When I upgraded my Box - the biggest jump in frame rate - was going from a 2.6 ghz Chip to a 3.5 ghz Chip ! Good Luck ! Johnman
  15. Hello msmithjr, May I suggest that You Temporarilly keep Your FSX install - The longer You keep P3D - the more You learn about Moving Your good Stuff over !! - Uninstall the stuff that You know You will not use - and Keep the stuff You like - I know that with a few exceptions - You can just drag and drop Your Aircraft directly into Your Sim Objects Folder ! The Fsx to P3D Migration tool May work for You - I tried using it and ran into an ocean of Alligators - Trying to Fly both Fsx and P3D - It creates a Dummy Folder and things can get very confusing When You try to switch back and forth ! I ended up with a complete Re install of both programs !! However it does work well for installing FSX addons into P3D ! Hope This Helps Johnman :p0504:
  16. Hey Thanks, SimLauncher works perfect - for FSX and P3D - and is Exactly what I was looking for !! One of the great things about P3D is _ there are new app's and Addons coming out every day !! Does anybody know if P3D V 2.0 is going to be 32 bit or 64 bit or both ?? Now to get down to Setting up Some Serious Flying !! Johnman :p0504:
  17. Hello Shane, I am running both programs on the same Hard drive - after completely re installing every thing again ! - I suggest NOT using the migration tool - it worked fine for awhile - but it eventually led to a Train Wreck ! - IE Re installing the programs again ! I am getting higher fps in Fsx - P3d is about 10 fps slower - but still very steady - not really very noticeable ! You should have very little problem as long as You keep the two programs SEPERATE ! I was able to Drag and Drop most of My favorite Aircraft from FSX to P3D - Be sure You have the correct aircraft installed for Sound and Panal Alaizing. Scenery - I have stuck with Freeware - and have had very little problem ! - and Freeware can mostly be Drag and Drop ! You start using FSX Payware Scenery in P3D and the installer gets confused ( It likes FSX )- again Be VERY carefull if You use The Migration Tool !! Good Luck - I think You will enjoy P3d - Unfortunatly the P3d Eula states that Entertainment or enjoyment are Not Something that they promote !! I like it ! Johnman :p0504:
  18. Hello Pilot98, In addition to what Jetsflier and Arismac have said - I know that the i7 Processor is Top of the Line !! - however Processor speed is critical - anything below 3ghz will not give You the best Frame rate - I just upgraded from a 2.5 ghz processor to 3.5 ghz the increase was amazing !! 4ghz is even better !! Johnman :p0504:
