  1. i have an ipad. looking forward to trying it!
  2. i found the source of the problem. i had my profile set to sync my about me with my twitter account. it kept copying the about me from twitter, which was overwriting my changes. my mistake! sorry for the trouble.
  3. yep, looks like it has reverted back to the original two sentence version. there is definitely something weird going on.
  4. hi chase. thanks for replying. what you quoted there is the original "about me" that it keeps reverting back to. every time i make a change, it goes back to that after about a day. i changed it just now by removing the second sentence. let's see if the change sticks.
  5. awesome! in my mind, it would have options to specify how many failures per hour, and a list of all possible failures with checkboxes, so that you can include/exclude the ones you want to randomly occur.
  6. i'm having trouble with the About Me section of my forum profile. whenever i make a change, it takes effect temporarily, then when i check it the next day, it's back to the way it was before. i'm making only minor text changes, and after i click save, i view my profile, and it all looks good. the next day, it's reverted back to the way it was before i changed it. i've done this 5-6 times now, and it keeps happening. anyone else seeing this? is it a bug?
  7. got it installed. looks and works great! well done.
  8. better graphics are always welcome. however, better API support for doing combat related addons would be a really worthwhile upgrade!
  9. that's pretty cool! good idea to show them all on a map like that. it will be useful next time i'm shopping for fsx scenery.
  10. well, couldn't find it, but i found this. it's not free, but there's a demo http://www.xmapsy.com
  11. yes, it's possible. i used to do it years ago with FSX and a GPS app that i ran on an old HP PDA. the gps app could use an external bluetooth GPS, and FSX could emulate a bluetooth gps. i don't remember exactly how it did it, but it didn't involve FSUIPC. i think it was a free app i got somewhere. i'll see if i can find it.
  12. i second that. i've actualy been thinking about something just like this for a while. if i wasn't so busy working on other projects, i'd do it myself. it would be great to be able to say "give me at least one random failure per flight". it would be great training for emergency handling skills, which are rather useful in real life piloting!
  13. wow, awesome! i like how you're blending aspects of Windows 8, and Adobe products. very clean and attractive. can't wait to get home and try it.
  14. Touch Pilot is looking for beta testers for our upcoming tablet app. We need technically savvy iPad or Android tablet users who use FSX. Email us at [email protected] if you're interested. Sorry, but we're not allowed to discuss the product or answer questions in this thread. Thanks.
  15. well, the app works with sims/games running on a Windows PC, but the client itself does not run on windows. only iOS and Android.
  16. no problem. any sim that supports joysticks should work with Touch Pilot. heh. no kidding. we don't believe in selling half-baked software. we want to work out the bugs before we ask for your money! absolutely not! we will never spam you, or give your email address away to anyone. i promise you that. i despise spammers. btw, i want to point out that Touch Pilot is not some big evil corporation with dreams of world domination. we're just two friends who had an idea, and are trying to make it a reality. we work from our bedrooms, and don't even have business cards :) the reason for the priority access thing is we don't know how many people will sign up, but if it's thousands, we don't really want thousands of beta testers. we expect beta testers to communicate with us and give us useful feedback, and you can't communicate with thousands of testers. so we just want a way to pick the most serious and dedicated beta testers, and it seems like rewarding those who help spread the word would be a good way to do that. btw, so far it doesn't look that that many people are spreading the word, so if you even get one other person to sign up, then you should be in good shape :) sorry, no. the screen is too small. you wouldn't be able to press the buttons with any accuracy. will will have apps in the future for smaller screens though.
  17. yes, probably. the requirements for android are 2.1+, and at least a 1024x600 screen. yes, that's all we have for now. at the moment, we are limited by our virtual joystick driver to 32 buttons, and we have used all 32 of them (the trim wheels use two each). we made decisions about which buttons to include based on what is mappable in FSX and other sims. for instance, even though many planes have a beacon light switch, that switch is not mappable in FSX, for some reason. the four mappable light switches in FSX are the ones we included in our panel.
  18. haha, sorry we can't supply the tablet. we'll be supporting the kindle fire though. it's only $200, and it's not a bad piece of hardware. gps moving maps will be coming down the road, in a separate product. we have a lot of cool stuff in the works!
  19. Hello fellow sim pilots. I'd like to announce that my brand new company, Touch Pilot, is looking for beta testers for our new tablet app. The app allows you to adjust your throttle, mixture, prop, landing gear, flaps, and more with just a tap. Now you don't have to remember all those keyboard commands. It works with any simulator or game running on a Windows PC. It especially works with FSX. It works by emulating a joystick on your PC, and transmits your inputs over WiFi. You map the controls just like you would on a regular joystick. There's a server component that you run on your PC, and of course the tablet app that runs on an iPad or Android tablet. You can sign up for the beta by visiting the link below. Looking forward to hearing your feedback! http://gettouchpilot.com Cheers, Ben @ TP
