I havent tried any of the Maule landing challenges because basically when I am behind the yoke, my Maule (nicknamed *$%@!) refuses to do anything that could be considered safe landing let alone soft landing. I know its me and not the plane but I will still call it an expletive each and every time we meet, even after I ave conquered the damn thing.

MS handling addons via the GFWL market place is no different to XBOX live arcade or iTunes or any other number of similar business models that have become the norm in recent years... long after the advent of previous incarnations of MSFS and the way that 3pd is done and marketed. The issue of users accessing this content is trivial and should not even be raised a month after a title is released. As for how MS works with 3pd in the future I am sure that is between those developers and the title publisher as a licensing issue and will be nutted out in the future after MS have fully discovered how and why Flight is being used.Give it some time guys, its not Flight that could turn new community members away; its the vehemence of the community in its ragging of the product. Trust me, I am new to both ;)

Its odd because during the tutorials the instructor tells you to increase or decrease speed to "so many miles per hour" yet most of flight has caught up with the rest of the developed world and uses the metric system.A yard is something I have at the back of my house and is measured in square meters :PHonestly I dont know what the standard is for avionics, metric or imperial but really the powers that be should pick one or the other and run with it.

The Maule is just a pig for me, from takeoff to landing no matter what I try and do. If its not veering left or right like drunk on ice skates during taxi and takeoff its dropping like a rock on landing and even though I dont seem to get any bouncing the landing is obviously hard. Note I do play with no hud and no assists so flying by instruments only and I do know this will make things more challenging. Gave your tips a few tries Gary but no luck in cracking this nut just yet.

Well to me it seems MS are doing exactly what they planned and the business model is sound and should do quite well as long as the DLC prices are maintained at a reasonable level. I agree with the senitiments that they cannot and should not kowtow to the whims and desires of hardcore simmers, these people have many titles to choose from and should take on board things said in this interview about Flight being a different approach to appeal to a larger audience.I am very much looking foward to the next expansion and hope that Flight continues to offer me a very real and 'fun' simulation experience :)

Last night I was playing with options and turned off the reduce rotatating propeller effects option thinking it couldnt have to much of an effect on the game. Every plane now veers to the left and it gets worse with speed and is much worse with a crosswind especially if you have turned off smooth flying as well, the icon is less pronounced with its reversed propeller.

Being both new to AVSIM and flight sims this is invaluable information, thank you very much :)Now I need to decipher it all and put it into practice.
