Thinking About Upgrading to P3D
Doug if you do choose to go with P3D, then I would leave FSX installed on your system. It can be very useful for porting over add-on aircraft etc. I echo what others says above, in that P3D runs more smoothly than FSX but this may be system dependant. Regards Kevin

Afcads in Version 2.5
Hi Noel you can create an 'Addon Scenery' folder anywhere you want. This could be in your main P3D folder, but in my case I've created it outside (D:\P3D Addon Files\Addon Scenery) so that in the event of a re-install/update of P3D, the files are not lost. Place any scenery folders within this, and when using the Scenery Library, Add Scenery within P3D, navigate to your new Addon Scenery folder and add as usual. I've not tried adding a scenery sub folder for rs.bgl and cvx.bgl files, but can't see why it wouldn't work. The above should work as normal and is all you need to do. You can however, keep other files outside of the main P3D folder as shown below. Within the P3D Addon Files folder, I have also created a SimObjects Folder (with 2 Sub folders - Airplanes and AI Aircraft), into which you can add the relevant addon aircraft. You will however need to edit your simobjects.cfg file (found in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepare3D v2), with entry 9 and 10 as below, using notepad. simobjects.cfg[Entry.0] Path=SimObjects\Airplanes [Entry.1] Path=SimObjects\Rotorcraft [Entry.2] Path=SimObjects\GroundVehicles [Entry.3] Path=SimObjects\Boats [Entry.4] Path=SimObjects\Animals [Entry.5] Path=SimObjects\Misc [Entry.6] Path=SimObjects\Submersible [Entry.7] Path=SimObjects\Weapons [Entry.8] Path=SimObjects\Countermeasures [Entry.9] Path=D:\P3D Addon Files\SimObjects\AI Aircraft [Entry.10] Path=D:\P3D Addon Files\SimObjects\Aircraft Within the P3D Addon Files folder, I have also created an 'Effects' folder into which any 3rd party addon effects can be added In this case, the effects.cfg (same path as above) file needs to have a line added to read [Entry.0] Path=Effects [Entry.1] Path=D:\P3D Addon Files\Effects Hope I've answered your question and not over complicated my answer. Regards Kevin

ACCU-Feel v2.1 migration....
Yes, I have. First, I placed the FSX.EXE file in my main P3Dv2 folder. I then ran the installer, changing the destination to my Prepar3D v2 installation. in my case D:/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3D v2 After this I created a DLL.XML file using Note pad and containing the following text <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0"> <Descr>Launch</Descr> <Filename>dll.xml</Filename> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad> <Launch.Addon> <Name>A2A Service</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>A2A\Shared\A2A_Service.dll</Path> <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName> <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>A2A Feel</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>Modules\A2A_Feel.dll</Path> <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName> <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName> </Launch.Addon> <Launch.Addon> <Name>AccuFeelMenu</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>Modules\AccuFeelMenu.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> </SimBase.Document> Save this as DLL.XML (All Files (*) selected from the 'Save as Type' dropdown box - NOT 'Text Documents (*.txt)) , using the following path C:/Users/Your Name/AppData/Roaming/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3D v2. I then ran the Accu-feel V2 update installer, again changing the destination to my main P3D v2 folder. I've not tried this without the FSX.EXE file in my Prepar3D v2 main folder. Hope this helps Kevin

Now This I Don't Remember from 2.0
Hi MB the cockpit tool tips that you are seeing has long been a feature of flight simulator and carried over to P3D. It can easily be turned off by the following. From the menu bar within P3D (press the 'ALT' key if not showing), select 'Options', then 'Settings' then 'General'. In the lower right pane of the window that opens. you will see a box titled 'Information Text'. Within this will be 'Show Cockpit Tool Tips'. Uncheck the box to the side of this and the tool tips will disappear. The GPS distance problem is a known bug in the P3D 2.1 update. Regards Kevin
