Requesting a review
This is an old topic so I apologize for the delayed response. In my experience...developers will send Avsim software to review and other times the reviewer will ask Avsim to reach out to a developer if they want to look at something in particular. Personally, I have taken a look at the list of software we have on hand and picked one that I fancied. Other times, I have asked to review a specific title. Sometimes the developer responds and smoethimes they do not. So, I don't think it's bad form to request a review but a few things have to come together to make it happen: a willing reviewer with that platform and the software being made available by the developer. I hope this has helped answer your question.

Avsim Integrity
I don't think generosity had anything to do with refunding their money. It was more a case...we can't do business with you under these conditions. Speaking your mind is not the same as making unfounded, libelous accusations. A forum impartial to vendors is not a forum where anyone someone can attack the character of another.

Avsim Integrity
Thank you, Stephen, for putting all of our (the staff's) thoughts on this matter into words. I have only been with Avsim for a short period of time but this organization...like all flight simming organizations I have been a part of...do this out of love for the hobby and the user. It's a serious shame to see those efforts denigrated when they are provided free of charge and in the hope that someone's gaming experienced is enriched. Tom is a very active and compassionate steward of Avsim; he's always considering the user's point of view in the decisions he has to make. We are very lucky to have Tom and a bunch of other people who help make this hobby better.

For those of you that have deployed...
I echo the sentiments about missing the people. I worried endlessly about my friends, unit, and people I had never even met....if I'm not there to help them, who would be? That kind of stuff. I would say that the feeling never really fads but you do begin to understand it and move on with your life. I mean, at 40 I probably can't hump a ruck and a rifle over the mountains anymore but I think about it every day. Good luck in your decision. RLTW
