I am definitely a newb with flight sims . It was Flight that got me interested, just 6 months and 400 hrs later I am looking for more. I want good quality graphics and just purchased a new machine to get there .I just ordered FSX Gold how ever I don't want to be tweaking instead of flying. Is X-Plane the answer? From reading all the FSX threads I think it might be. Can you fly X Plane right out of the box?

Thanks for your help. I found a date on each box one was packaged in 2010 the other in 2011. Must be different batch issues.

Okay time to switch from Flight to FSX flying the Maule is getting a little boring. I found FSX Gold in a box on line for 30 bucks. Is there any issue with it on W 7 64 bit? Are the disc boxes any different? I would just buy it from Xbox but being in Canuckistan they have nixed that idea.

I have noticed a few comments from the co-pilot that makes me think there was more as well. This thing sure glides well when you run out of fuel...8 or 9 miles from the runway is no problem .

I Just flew 200nm on one engine. HOW..fly the Mustang out to no mans land 200nm east of Hilo. Hit map..then hit hanger and take out a full C46, I was in multiplayer turned around flew back to Hilo and landed. It really does pull to the right with the starboard engine out , still managed to maintain 150knts at 5000 feet all the way back. This is probably the only way this plane could fly 1500nm on a full tank. :lol: Really does make you wonder if there is a Deluxe version of this plane close to completion sitting on a shelf somewhere. looks like I better adjust my screen for brightness.

For 29.95 for an FSX Gold download, it's still tempting.

I noticed a couple of time when starting the engines the port would start before the starboard.

Snettisham Airport is my favorite one to date, landing the C46 there is a lot of fun. I am planing on giving FSX a shot soon as flying the Maule is getting a little boring for cargo jobs, I think I will stick to the basic box of FSX Gold though.

That plane is supposed to be able to fly 1500 nm on one tank..I wonder if you'll make it.

I know most cards are capable of running two monitors , I actually had two running on off my laptop which had a GTM540 card, I just find running flight in windows mode a waste of real estate especially now that I have a card capable of four monitors. I read the post in the tutorial about running a nav tool with flight on one screen with a hotkey. ...not quite what I was hoping for.

Has anyone figured out how to run Flight in full screen with multiple monitors and a card up to the task ? I have a GTX670 card and was hoping to run Flight in full screen while using the other monitor for nav tools. I want to use the features of this card to the fullest.

Flight with cockpits and guns on those warbirds would have been a better option. Every other sim is just to complicated for the general public to get a grasp on. it needs to be "out of the box ready". Multiplayer could have have been with or without gun fighting.

Some of the weight restrictions and non restrictions (Cub) are ridiculous. I have a friend who owns an RV7A, he and his wife can carry three suitcase , a full tank of fuel and fly 800 miles at 10 000 feet.

How did you manage to use the RV-6 on a Clandestine job? It can only carry two people and no cargo.
