  1. You may have run out of fuel because your airspeed and Rate of Climb were both too fast. Some of the performance statistics quoted in the most dependable sources may have been accomplished with a minimum crew, no passengers or cargo and a quick up to max. altitude, then reduce throttle to almost zero for a descent and landing at the base airfield. To conserve fuel on a normal flight you might try an initial climb at 180kts IAS at 1800ft/minute rate of climb, when you reach 18,000ft change to standard barometric pressure of 29.92" and increase speed to 200kts IAS and a rate of climb to 2,000ft/minute. You won't make 43,000ft in 20 minutes using the above method but you might avoid a deadstick landing.
  2. I am new to FSX and bought this Phenom rather than fit Bert's modification to the Carenado Phenom 300 which is in my hangar pending a hoped for update from Carenado to enable the AP & FMC to work together as in RL. Back to the Feelthere Phenom 100. I am now a bit faster at going through the checklists in the example flight and I am almost at the point when I can start engine no.2 (this engine should be started before no.1). All comes to an irritating halt because I cannot find a way to select No.2 NAV to change the frequency. No matter which part of the NAV knob(s) I turn, twist, pull or push I cannot get to the point at which I can set the new frequency. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Phenom using the path "D/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X" but so far to no avail. I am running W7 and FSX Gold on a brand new computer and assistance would be appreciated.
  3. For: OneWhoKnocks53: Many thanks. Always a little difficult getting used to a new system after many years using FS9. Will "google" as suggested. Thank you.
  4. Hi I have just switched over from FS9 to FSX. Taking advantage of the ORBX sale I bought ORBX Global followed by European open LC. I have installed both programs with Global above EULC. In FTX Central 2 I see the word "Active" opposite Global but nothing at all opposite EULC. Is this correct? If not how do I make the LC active. The LC is below Global in the FSX Scenery Library so I assume that it is active in FSX but as a newcomer to ORBX I am not yet familiar with the routines. Guidance would be appreciated.
  5. Very relieved and pleased to write that my 'key' arrived today. Have applied key to previously loaded ASE which enabled me to use the previously loaded program. Did one flight over southern Europe this afternoon of 80 minutes using a previously prepared flightplan. This produced the desired weather along the route although I may have missed a button push because the weather changes were applied quite suddenly as opposed to gradual changes in cloud cover etc. The HiFi support team have certainly made up for the later arrival of the key because I also received a link to download ASE with update SP3. Since I bought ASE last Tuesday I wondered if SP3 was included with my purchase. Can anyone please tell me how to find out if my version of ASE already has SP3 applied, where does one look to find out which version one has? Very pleased with ASE speed of combination with flightplan and FS9, once setup it took almost no time to reach "wheels rolling" on my test flight. I expect to get used to the new 'radar' system - at present I miss my old AS6.5 "Ctrl+F12" radar prentation.
  6. Jamp for Flex 1978: No, I have not heard from them at all. I too looked in my Spam files and found nothing from HiFi whatsoever! It may be that the HiFi setup is 'x' hours behind BST so one might expect an answer from 14:00 hrs BST today. Have we had our pockets picked?
  7. The same thing has happened to me! Bought ASE yesterday (Tuesday) but no key to be found anywhere! I am quite concerned because after contacting HiFi 24 hrs ago I still have not received the key to enable me to use ASE! I have used Active Sky products since 2005 and have always received very speedy replies and excellent advice to any queries that I have needed answers to. Sadly not this time. I have received an automated reply to my request for a key but no email with key has yet arrived. I have purchased FS software online since 1995 and have never experienced such a problem. Added to the frustration of being unable to use this very good product is the fact that the HiFi communications system seems quite awkward to use. The meaning of the word "ticket" is difficult for me to comprehend in this situation because I normally obtain a ticket when starting a journey, not when I have paid for a product which the vendor seems incapable of delivering in a fit state to use. In years past Jim Skona (Active Sky series) would have supplied the necessary data immediately via email.
