  1. I have not done testing with the default clouds. I installed REX without a texture backup (I don't bother backing up because I re-install every update) Can someone just launch up to FL350+ and take a screenshot with default clouds and share it?
  2. I'm glad your happy of your findings Aaron but this isn't good news for TD4 buyers like myself :( Can someone from REX comment on to why OD clouds look fine and TD4 clouds (which is a newer product) look poor?
  3. Ya but he also said he uses "Max Sliders" with the PMDG T7 in CYVR with FSDT's airport and ORBX's PNW.....Giving him 33 FPS and only has a GTX780! lol.....This will never happen Unless you aren't using any REX and Vector....Maybe he gets 33 in his wing view. The driver's documentation states it added GTX Titan X support (which just released) and added some other app profiles. I went and updated my GTX980 to .88 and I have confirmed no upgrade or downgrade in FPS.
  4. I am with a 4790k at 4.7Ghz. I have HT off and AM=15.... Seems to give me the best experience.
  5. I never bought overdrive.....its older than TD4. I've only bought TD4. Can anyone from REX comment on why overdrive seems to work okay?
  6. weird....My jet ways still work! http://prntscr.com/6hdevp
  7. REALSIM preset in ASN along with a 0.64 Multiplier is okay for me at the moment. Going to be flying like this for the next little while!
  8. So....After a few days on some support forums...We have a triangle of devs pointing fingers on each other claiming it is none of their software. Of course this leads to a deadzone for the user... REX saying it is ASN weather engine>ASN saying it is REX>LM Saying it is ASN & REX basically I think for now it is up to us (for people that see this issue) to come up with a work around....Just another day of simming lol!
  9. I shoudnt have to make my cloud textures bigger and lose performance because there is development issues. REX has confirmed on their support board it is the weather engine. http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/33492-why-do-my-clouds-look-like-popcorn/#entry245621
  10. I would say this falls under inappropriate for 2015 standards lol Extra butter for me please! warning big picture* http://i.imgur.com/bVXE2km.jpg
  11. I'd have to say that even playing with advanced settings my clouds look pretty bad....After reading the ASN manual I did see that they recommend 500 ft above AGL for clouds in P3D....I put it to 500 and it made it a LITTLE better.....Thats just because they got raised and looked closer....There is nothing really unique about the ASN manual for P3D. Maybe REX needs more variations for P3D and bigger textures....I don't know....i do know that There product looks great in FSX. I doubt its ASN either because I put a default weather overcast theme and it was still tileing and popcorns going on....It seems off as well.....Something just isnt right.....I deleted shaders after every change. Maybe someone can share settings that they really like. Currently what works best for me is ASN in Realism mode preset.
  12. Took the thoughts right out of my head Aaron. Totally on the same page with same feelings. Look forward to a bit more testing.
  13. A T7 taking off from Skiathos.....I guess if you wanted to survive you would always need to tail strike lolll unless your empty! Nice shots.
  14. Richard, when you get a chance, can you share your settings that have worked for you? Also I see your not an ASN user...I think that ASN takes over all those advanced settings, but I am not sure; I'll have to test. Please share your advanced weather settings page! It would be a good footstep to my testing. Thanks buddy!
  15. I've never played with those settings Richard, I can't wait to get home now to test it out lol....Also those screens you posted look great but the popcorn effect really comes into play over around FL320+ give or take...maybe earlier.... I will play with some settings tonight and re post some findings.
  16. Still have these in the latest build.... *warning big pictures* http://i.imgur.com/wNlmzDN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/m00E20o.jpg I know (after taking part in a popular thread here) that the multiplier tweak gets rid of the popcorn effect but I would like to know where the devs stand on getting REX clouds to look great at high altitudes in the sim. Any news? / work around's? / comments?
  17. Yup! you missed it....ASN was brought up three times, & once by yourself. Also, a weather station is a weather station whether or not its ASN or AS2012..... Your right about the live weather slipping out of live though....Happens to me often.
  18. Are you guys sure your using Live weather and have read the Manual? Latest build of ASN is absolutely PERFECT on my system.....I'd say its even more accurate than my local weather report lol
  19. For a few seconds I can honestly say that shot fooled me....Though it was RW lol.... Can't wait to buy this baby...
  20. Came across this and I thought I'd share. It has been on simMarket since the 18th of February and I was lucky enough to see it today! I kind of had to take a double look when I saw $0.00 http://secure.simmarket.com/fsdg-oresund-x-(free)-fsx-p3d.phtml
  21. At first I couldn't either. Then I realized you need to toggle your P3D window from windowed mode to full screen. That toggle activates DSR. so, I guess for you now you need to 1) Set DSR to x2.0 and 33 smoothing (for now to test) 2) Set your resolution in the P3D menu to the new resolution that DSR gives you (with the drop down in display settings) 3) You won't see any difference now, but when you toggle to full screen you should.... Hope this helps, because it didn't work for me out of the box either.
  22. I got my landing lights with it! Sorry....if you wan't I have my DSR settings up on my website, I am putting my v2.5 settings up this week but for the most part they are the same. You can test with these if you wan't if you have a similar system georgekonline.com then click on Prepared v2.4
  23. Here is a screenshot of my control panel http://i.imgur.com/PGiME8P.png And my actual driver is the latest WHQL build which is 347.52.
  24. I need to use DSR because I absolutely despise shimmering. It is the only thing I can do at the moment that will stop me from seeing these horrific shimmers in P3D v2.5. I am doing x1.75 with 40% smoothing 4MMSAA in P3D FXAA off and 8Anisotropic
  25. Yes, in that link I sent you I also shared links of what is happening on my system. Go ahead and cross reference, it should be the same.
