  1. Love the KLM one! Would love to see your take on a new British Airways livery based on their 'to fly, to serve' slogan and the logo in my avatar playing a part. I've been thinking for a while that BA needs a refresh.
  2. A quick shot from this dusk departure from EDDM/Munich, headed to Rome
  3. Not familiar with the downloads Stephane, but I presumed you would download them and then "own" that digital copy, for viewing at your leisure whilst offline. I would use a download manager to guarantee to be able to resume them. I always get the DVDs though!
  4. Thanks Robert, I'll give your settings a whirl and play spot the difference!
  5. Ah OK thanks Howard. I thought I'd be able to create it and then use the "Save Current Weather as Weather Theme" option from Opus, but alas that only works for "live" weather, if you want to save the current conditions!
  6. Hi Guys I've used the Advanced Weather tool in FSX to create a weather theme I like - but unless I'm being incredibly stupid (very possible!) I can't see any way to save it as a weather theme? Is this possible? Thanks
  7. No problem! Can I ask if you have any tips for where to begin with repainting? It's something I'm very keen to get into I'm a photographer so have good photoshop skills, I iust don't know where to begin with it. Did you watch YouTube tutorials or follow written guides etc? Your work is brilliant, it's hard to believe it's your first one!
  8. Couldn't agree more, I only fly airliners but the eye candy of fsx with payware scenery is what makes it what it is. Couldn't imagine not using things like ftx global, utx and payware airports.
  9. Echo with the above comments, the design is absolutely excellent, however I'd love to see if in red and blue on the white fuselage. I hated the old AA chrome and like that they've 'taken the shine' off of it with the new scheme. I feel the tail ruins the current AA design, the whole thing is smooth and classy then that big brash tail just ruins it. Your design is classy and refined, I just think it needs to hit you as 'American' which would come with a change of colour on the text and logo. PS, I don't suppose you would be interested in a repaint request from me would you? Your work is excellent!
  10. Just the one shot from today, and a sad farewell for the A321 full of German holidaymakers, on their way back to Stuttgart from Thessaloniki. Thanks for looking
  11. Love the World Air Routes/Justplanes series. Picked up a job lot on eBay a while back which I've still to watch, got about 9 titles for £35. South African A340, Westjet 737, Swiss A340 and Luxair 737 are amongst them.
  12. Jim Thanks for your input, I appreciate you taking the time to try to help me. Everything is just so confusing and so often contradictory! The AF and AA settings for inspector which you have said are all wrong, I took directly from the DX10 "how to" document that's pinned in this forum (ie application controlled and 16x), but you're saying this is wrong? I did have my AA set to 4xSGSS but when you said about the jaggies you saw on the aircraft in my first post, I changed this to 8 and it made it better. I will try removing bufferpools and see if that helps, and experiment with lowering FFTF to attempt to eliminate some of the blurriness.
  13. Hi Jim Apologies, I wasn't clear, I didn't mean I was zoomed out here, I meant if I do zoom out, the blurry scenery isn't as noticeable, which makes sense I guess. Regards the clouds, I deliberately set to "clear skies" just for testing/tweaking. I have since changed the AA which has improved, and set my LOD_RADIUS to 6.5 (I hadn't noticed it change back to 4.5, even though I was aware it did this when you changed settings in FSX) I have taken a couple more examples in the same area. For both sets of shots I have taken the same shot twice, one at close zoom and one at far zoom to get some insight as to whether or not you think it looks reasonable, or whether something is amiss in my setup. Here are my settings from FSX and Inspector: And here are some of the main things from the cfg: [GRAPHICS] ForceWindowedVsync=1 MultiSamplesPerPixel=4 MultiSampleQuality=8 HIGHMEMFIX=1 TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048 [bufferPools] UsePools=0 [Display] TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=40 [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 [Main] FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.33 [TERRAIN] LOD_RADIUS=6.500000 If you see anything in here that looks wildly wrong I'd be much obliged if you could let me know. I tried to set up using the "how to" bible (making a clean fsx.cfg also) but I'm in over my head I must admit! Many thanks Hi Jet Many thanks for your response! I think I've probably just covered most of it in my other reply! If no one can see anything I'm doing horrendously wrong in my set up above, I may just back up my current fsx.cfg and start again, although I have only recently done this. I will check out NickN's guide perhaps (I used the "how to" guide in this forum so far) FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION is not something I've played around with much, but that could be another part of the jigsaw! Many thanks
  14. Hi Guys I'm new to DX10, and relatively new (back) to FSX after a lengthy absence. I timed my return to coincide with the switch to DX10, and love the increased smoothness I've noticed, however I'm concerned I have some graphical issue that I don't recall being there before, namely some blurry textures. This is a shot around the Greek islands, and I don't remember textures being quite so blurry in the background when I was using DX9, but like I said, it's been a long while. When I'm closer it's not so noticeable, or if I zoom out a lot, does this look fairly "normal" to you? I would expect more "crisp" definition to the peaks of the land (using FS Global mesh) rather than what I see here, with more clearly defined textures, but maybe I'm being over demanding? Thanks all
  15. Steve, thanks. At the risk of sounding seriously stupid, what do you mean by "untick v2 transparency in legacy"?
  16. MDF86

    Your age?

Coming up to 28, my first sim experience was a program called Airbus A320 on the Amiga, which came on 2 x 1.44MB floppy disks!
  17. A quick shot of today's beauty, and the plane's not bad either
  18. Hi Guys Does anyone know of any solution to the issue of black blocks coming out of light poles, instead of lights? I notice this at Aerosoft Zurich and Larnaca. Thanks all
  19. You've missed my point. UTX Europe covers Europe only, FTX Global Vector covers the entire planet. Hence running the two (with UTX prioritised above FTX Global as it's the better product) should give me global coverage, with the advantage that in Europe (the one area covered by both products), the better product takes priority.
  20. Looks good but I'm only looking for coverage of the areas just outside of Europe coverage that I have payware airports for (Tunisia, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, UAE etc) and they don't appear to have anything for Asia/Africa/Middle East
  21. Sounds like a good idea. I may pick up Asia and Africa so that when I am outside of UTX coverage I get something better than FSX default. I have payware addon airports for Tunisia, UAE, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece etc which all look pretty bland flying in and out of these areas as they are outside of the UTX coverage area. Hopefully this might inject a bit more realism and at least stop miles and miles of the exact same few textures. This will still allow the FTX Global textures to be used, won't it? My understanding is this product just tells the sim which textures to display where, is that right?
  22. Thanks guys, I think I'll probably just wait for ORBXs offerings outside the EU. I do 90% of my flying in UTX coverage area, it's a shame that the route in and out of Istanbul looks so bad (even with ftx global) as the quality of Taxi2Gate's LTBA makes me want to use it for every flight!
  23. Thanks guys. Is the ORBX LC product going to be global coverage in one package? I expected it to be (in line with Global and Vector) but on their home page it's advertised as 'Open LC Europe' which makes it sound like they're going to release it by continent which is disappointing if true, and seems to go against the appeal of Global and Global Vector. As I already have UTX, an EU only product doesn't interest me, and I was hoping it would be a global product in one release...
