Running (or trying to) 1.12.13 on powerful gaming computer under W-10 (fully update) ....Store install initially... downloaded 1.12.13 yesterday afternoon... the D/L hung halfway through...I exited the program, restarted, and the D/L resumed and installed (I think) successfully...started MSFS and it eventually loaded...there was a long lag somewhere that I did not pinpoint.... This morning tried to load 1.12.13....it now hangs on the "New Activities" page...before the upgrade to 1.12.13 MSFS ran perfectly... Any help appreciated... Thanks, John H.

After a little research, found that the most recommended first fix/check was to check your firewall and virus protection... sure enough, it was one of them...a 30G update ensued... be patient...takes awhile...

Hummm...Looked around on-line...there apparently is a new Xbox app for Windows 10...I downloaded it, installed and logged in...launched the program in usual fashion... got the same old error message...tried off-line and it seemed to work and want me to configure the Sim again...did not reconfigure but launched a flight and asked for live weather and got it...does that mean I'm live again?...don't have time to reconfigure right now, but will do so and report...really weird... not sure I fully understand what's going on... Hi Geoff...I am getting the same message as of 11/23...anyone know what's happening or how to fix it? I logged into the MS Store/Xbox and that didn't help.. Any help appreciated... Thanks, John H.

Hi Brad...thanks for the linker...and to anone else who responds... I have a couple of questions: 1) If I create my new "Addons" folder (with subfolders) before running your program, will it move the current Community addons in to the correct new Addons sub-folders?... 2) After the initial install, can I just place all future addons in my new Addon folder? 3) After I initially install of your program, can I erase all the shortcuts in the Community folder?....saw this, I think, in one of Lost Pilot's videos...and, 4) If this does not work for some reason, can I just revert to my original Community folder and it's old file structure?... I must stand to correction on my second post above... the BD Firewall was "off" not ""on"...when turned "on" the problem reoccurred....darn... However, Fzike's fix above seems to work...thanks Fitzke!...

Hi there...this morning, I have started the SIM twice with BD Firewall "on" and everything has worked fine... Wonder if there was some "glitch" on part on MS yesterday? John H

To practice an approach at a given airport, simply pick that airport as your "arrival"...do not pick a "departure".... the Sim will place you on approach to the chosen airport and runway...you have no control over the length of the approach or the altitude...I think it varies by plane...still, it's a neat and useful feature...I read about this on another forum...

After the latest Sim update my Bitdefender Firewall keeps sending warnings that the Sim is (I think) is connecting to the internet... I click "allow" and nothing happens...I dismiss the message and it reappears...I called BD technical support...they say it's a known issue and they are working on a fix and will let me know...the only solutions (for now) are to cut the firewall off or just let the error message exist on the screen....bummer...

I apologize if this post is not authorized.... I am at my wits end...I prepaid fro MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe from the MS Store several weeks ago... This morning I tried to download the Sim, but the Store says it can't find my registered device (desktop) to download the Sim to... my desktop is registered at the Store...apparently many others are having this problem...I have searched the MS "Help" files, including this one, which seems on point.... https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/microsoft-store-doesnt-recognize-my-device-to/fb68cafd-0f11-4d3c-bd07-aa39532ea251?auth=1&page=1&rtAction=1597757291293&tm=1597757459449 it suggested several minor fixes, including updating W 10 (which I apparently needed) ...I've tried them all and none work...MS has not provided a fix...if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it Thanks....

Hello Bulva...bottom line, took a little "tinkering" but your solution worked!...thank you so much for the tip... I'm using XP 11.41 and the boxes are more in of the middle of the Settings/Graphics page and there are several "Reset Visuals Offsets"...but the very bottom one did the trick... Upon starting XP today, I noticed that the screen was tilted left to right...the left side was higher than the right... in other words, the horizon was tilted to the right...I tried updating XP and disabling a few plugins but nothing helped... Any hep appreciated....thanks, John H.

Does anyone know of a quick and efficient way (or program) to convert old FSX flight plans to P3D?...my current version of Plan 3G does not recognize the old ".FLT" files... Any help appreciated... Sorry for this rather simple questiuon...have looked around for answer with no success...probably because it's so basic... I use two controllers with XP and frequently change between the two...XP has no trouble seeing which controller is in current use...I want, of course, the plane I fly to respond to the controller that I set as the "active profile" for the current session...for that to be the case, should I go into "Manage Profiles" and set each listed airplane to "User Profile?" ...as opposed to the name of one of my two controllers?... Hi Oliver,...thanks for all your help... I am running P3D4.12 on a Windows 10 gaming computer...I am using P4AO for P3D5....all are working well.. I am thinking of migrating my addon scnery to an XML package or group...I now keep my add on scenery on my "C" drive, but in a folder separate from the folder that contains my P3D installation... Given the above configuration, what advantages are there to putting my add-on scenery in one of more new folders with XML properties?...as I see it now, the P3D Library serves that function, but without the XML files....in addition, I can go into the Library and quickly disable any scenery and later reactivate it...with the XML setup I cannot (w/o error messages) delete/deactivate an addon scenery in an XML folder w/o deleting the whole folder of sceneries...the only advantage I see (and I may not be seeing something) is the XML format.....the addon sceneries are now out of my P3D main folder anyway...what am I missing...any comments appreciated... hope this is an intelligible question...
