  1. I believe it dos flare on auto land although have not used that much to be honest... to import flight plans the only way i found was to use VRoute as it can save in the .pss format which the bus uses...fsbuild does??
  2. Ah.... much obliged John! is it super hard to link 2 computers like this? will only certain fsx aircraft run on it etc? Sorry for these barrage of questions... is there a site for the first timers so to speak!
  3. Hey John, the setup looks just great... i have a question though...which i have been wanting to ask for a bit... when it comes to setting up the cockpit and you have the gauges etc showing below the 60" tvs... how do you actually do that? I am seriously thinking of having a large tv for the main screen and using my 2 27" monitors to show the gauges, pfd, nd etc... Any suggestions? Cheers doug
  4. Indeed Joop! Time here in NZ is 7:57am on Thursday October 11th... and what a lovely day it is outside! Not a cloud in the sky.. no matter how many times i refresh OPUS! Pity that VATSIM takes so long to develop software... i ma sure even if each user paid $1.00 or what ever currency you use, they would have more than enough to get someone to work on it fulltime and get the job done! Maybe we should suggest that! B) Have a good 'night' over there! Ciao Doug
  5. Hi Joop... you are very welcome and i will keep hunting for suggestions that may help in getting this solved! As for P3D along with SB4 and FSINN not running nicely inside the sim, Lockheed Martin have apparently developed this sim NOT for entertainment purposes - i.e. the home desktop aviator - but rather for commercial training... therefore it lacks the 'niceties' that we have come to expect from FSX LM software is probably best used in full training simulators where ATC is actually simulated and no 'online' flying is involved... I cant ever see LM updating things to get the software going... It would eb great if some developer would crate another more user friendly program - even payware - that integrated nicely with both FSX and P3D Before i had this working ok, i was using the little app called DESK-PINS to pin the communication window on top of the screen overlaying the panel... i notcied last n ice that the transponder disappeared every now and then...hmmmm... perhaps a desk-pin here would help too... Sorry that none of the suggestions have worked but as you say, it can still be done via externally starting it and it is stable too... Somewhere on the planet. someone will have the best answer and then we can use that.. until then the search continues! All the best! Doug
  6. Ok Joop... i tried my setup again and tragically got the error message... So what i did was changed the server i was using.... so each time i connected i could see if the simconnect error was still there.. The servers that worked were.. Europe C2...right through them all... In fact, try each one until you get a connection... then go back to the server that didn't connect and it may well do so.. i had the error on Europe CW2... after connecting to other severs i went back to this and it worked again! See if that works (if you haven't already tried it) All the best! Doug
  7. Great Joop... will be interested to see what happens... if it doesn't work then i will keep hunting! Where is this winxsx folder? My simconnect is in the SB folder? All the best! Doug
  8. Hmmmm...ok, in looking at my original post...I omitted to mention that i also have the latest FSUIPC (registered) version 4.858 perhaps this will assist.... The simconnect version that is originally installed with SB4: v10.0.60905.0 dated Sep 2006 The simconnect version that i replaced it with was : v10.0.61259.0 dated Sep 2007 I have tried to search for other versions but this was the only one i could find that was the latest.. I had read something about the disappearing entry under the addons so i installed (again) FSUIPC using the base installer and then updated the module to the latest... perhaps the latest simconnect dll within FSUIPC for P3D 1.4 has something to do with it? Apart from that there was nothing extra that i did.... all i have now is that P3D doesnt want to hold my control settings for some reason!! Very frustrating!!! Let me know how you get on! Cheers Doug
  9. Hi Phil, the frame rates have not suffered form what i can see.. so long as its smooth i dont use the FPS counter...did my head in for ages when i was hung up on that thing! My system specs are as follows.. System: 3770K @ 4.7ghz ~ 1.32v | ASRock Z77 Extreme4 | Corsair Hydro H70 | 16g Corsair DDR3 1600mhz CL9 ~ 1.50v | GTX 670 oc | 306.63BETA drivers | nVidia Inspector 1.9.6.6 | Sandisk SP900 256g ssd - OS | Sandisk SP900 256g ssd - fsx | 1TB Seagate Barracuda storage | Aywun 750w Mega Power Pro 80plus | CM HAF 912 Advanced | CH Flight Stick & Pro Throttle | 2 x Asus VK278Q 27" 3840x1080x32 | Win 7 64bit Pro | Fsx+Acc+FTX+Rex E+TrackIR 5+Gsx+Accufeel+Opus+P3D 1.4 I will be doing some more testing later and if there is any major degradation i will report back... Cheers! Omni... I have thought about that too... no real reason other than when i used to fly on VATSIM a few years back it was the first piece of software that i used to enable me to do it... i have read a lot about FSINN and will be giving it a shot soon as i hear the models of other players are far better displayed... does it work in P3D though? Cheers Doug
  10. Hi guys, In reading the other thread about this i decided to do some investigation.. heres the results.. SB4 now works perfectly in P3D... whether or not this is die to my system i dont know but here is what id did ... you can even start SB4 from within the sim so no need to start externally so the transponder and message box are on top of the panel.. Install SB4 as normal to FSX Edit the DLL.XML in P3D Make sure both VIP and Squawkbox plane foldres are copied form FSX to P3D (simobjects>aircraft) The annoying "cant connect using simconnect - make sure flightsim is running" error was done away with by downloading a later version of simconnect and putting that in the Squawbox folder... the original is dated 2006 so i replaced it with one form 2007 (cant find any newer?).. this seemd to work Opened P3D, started squawkbox from WITHIN game and no crashes..ATC fine... see other planes fine... So far so good! May be helpful for those striggling to get this to work with P3D! Cheers Doug
  11. Well folks i have been following this thread to see if SB4 will work in P3D as am having annoying errors within FSX when flying on vatsim... What i did was add the SB4 lines to the DLL.XML in P3D as copied from FSX... I also used the DeskPins app to make sure i could see the transponder and message box overlaid on the screen.... I started SB4 externally to see if it would make the difference.. My findings were initially good... it worked and i could connect with no issues... HOWEVER... while i could use and recieve voice and text it seemed that the only text coming through was the weather update..line after line of it.... the controller tried to text me but it wouldnt show for some reason... I will experiment more today with it to see if it was something i had done wrong.... pause on task switch is unticked as well.. I do have Opus weather program using REX textures... maybe Opus is the offending program? At any rate, i am sure we will get to the bottom of using SB4 in P3D seemlessly with our collective heads! Cheers Edit: Well, after some testing it seems to work ok.. i disabled the weather options within SB4 so no conflicts with Opus... that was fine but i cant see any other traffic at all... i know they are there as checked with the controllers... how do i get the other players to show? Bit stumped (i ahve edited the xml as well but still no joy) Cheers Doug
  12. Many thanks Guenter! FSX was for Beoings! Well I never.....!!! I daren't tell my good wife!!! Having said that.... there still is a fair swag of Airbus users out here hence programming for at least 1 of the busses would be a huge plus for the sim community... whatever airbus the programmers choose being able to use the panel properly would just make a whole bunch of consumers very very happy indeed.... It would be unrealistic to spend quantum time on programming every airbus out there due to the small market...but just one, fully operational airbus like aerosoft would be absolutley awesome.... i would asusme then all the airbus fans like myself would then crawl back under our rock and be as happy as a kid in a lollie factory! :) Anyway, thank you for your reply my freind, i cant go back on my purchase now so will have to make the best of what i have... Thanks Guenter!
  13. Hi guys, New here... I have just bought the MCP Combo II Airbus version from the States (to New Zealand) and then just found a post saying that LINDA will not work with this verson of the panel? My questions are : 1) can it be made to work somehow (as wanting to use it with Airbus X) ...or is it too difficult? & 2) would it be best to use the VRInsight software instead? I'd hate to think i've spent $600 on something that wont work... or i should rephrase that, it will work but this (LINDA) software seems to be superior to other software? Sorry if i have repaeated other posters! Cheers Doug
  14. Hi guys,I am using P3D with and without PNW demo... for some reaosn it wont let me adjust the visibility settings to say 20miles... always defaults back to unlimited! I can use the weather themes but for my slower pc laptop i need to redcue the vis to a more realistic setting...Anyone have any ideas how to fix?Thansk guysDoug
