Need some recommendations from European flyers

Any good apps that have approach charts for the European airports? I know Flight Plan Go covers North America but I don't see any for Europe. -
Does that cover the European area as well?

Need some recommendations from European flyers

Thanks all! Looking forward to some European flying. I love the towns and buildings there. So unique and diverse. What about short hops? I am only flying the GA aircraft so 45 min flights with the c172 or the tbm -
I use Google play...whats the best free app for approach charts?
-
I can download it at just after 2059 hours PDT 2359 EDT 0400 hours Zulu.

From what someone told me on another thread, a few million servers are used for the DL of the game. Nonetheless, I am waiting up until midnight, hitting the play button seeing the DL rate and then nodding off for a few hours in hopes that its done!

I think you will be just fine if you steer clear of the biggest cities. I stick to regional airports in smaller cities and it suits me just fine in other sims. Reflections and shadows look amazing but they do eat up FPS so I typically notch these down a tick or two. ground traffic I usually keep at around 10% because I dont want a dead world but I dont need gridlock on the 405!

im dying waiting for this release here. Seriously dying. I gave up back in April when COVID hit thinking it will be another year before this comes out. Then when I saw August 18th 2020 I jumped out of my seat. The last few weeks have dragged on. I feel like the South Park episode where Cartman wants the Wii so bad he freezes himself dead to wait for it because he cant stand it any longer.

based on user benchmark website, yours is ranked 1 below his card in the video on this thread. Looking at the specs down the board you are practically identical. Assuming you have similar/better CPU and RAM it should perform just like his.

I like the video posted in this thread. My system is quite a bit faster and he still gets the FPS that I am targeting. I tend to stay away from the highest density cities like NYC, LA, SF, etc...

I like that. Seeing that makes me feel a little better about cooking my gfx card lol. I dont have liquid cooling just the 3 fans.
-
Ive done COD warzone and BF V...But i cap my FPS at vsync of 60 for those games so the power only hits about 50% or so.
-
yeah it seems a bit high. I remember when il-2 cliffs of dover came out. It was hitting 99% GPU. My fan was loud!! I am hoping since my rig can do ~45 FPS at 1080p , limiting the frames to just 30 FPS will cut the load down to 70-80%.
-
in the game, there is already an option for lower quality models from what I have seen in the options menu. They dont have moving flaps, gear, etc....just low quality planes to fill the skies.
-
I truly am hoping its 12 AM local time to each time zone. That way 30-40K people arent trying to download 150GB worth of game at once on midnight Tuesday local time!
-
I noticed on some videos that the GPUs are running at near full speed. I have never played a game where it ran further than 50-60% power. 99% seems like a stress test! I usually play at adaptive half refresh 30 FPS so I can enjoy a smooth experience and not tax the GPU hard. I know my machine could run it faster but to the expense of burning out the card?

Has anyone tried off-line mode?
atlflyer replied to SmokeDiddy's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I never got too much into it I used the G2xpl tool. Generated most of southern California in zl16 and zl17 around airports. Still doesn't hold a candle to what msfs has done now. -

Has anyone seen that option in game yet or is that not yet available until release version? -
Scenery Servers and Bandwidth
atlflyer replied to atlflyer's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
I know the flight simulator Community is a niche community. Having streaming servers is a lot of work. I truly hope they don't abandon after a year. I want to enjoy this for many years to come. -

I personally love the photo scenery around everywhere. It makes the scenery look more realistic and what the auto gen placed directly on top of where it should be, it makes the scene amazing. I have always flown with photo scenery in X-Plane and one of the biggest drawbacks was no lights and no weathering. This simulator seems to take care of both of those problems along with the great photo scenery and great placement of the auto gen. Just look at Saba. Without the photo scenery Cliffs around it, that would look pretty plain. -
Scenery Servers and Bandwidth

Ah cool! With 3 million servers it seems like my worries are alleviated! Now let's just hope they don't stop supporting for a long time! -

I'm not too familiar with Azure. So all bing data and mesh is stored there?
