Don't upgrade to Windows 10 yet.
Has anyone taken the Win10 plunge since the release? Any problems? I want to upgrade from 8.1 but don't want to be the first.

Iris Grob Tutor video
Hi Pete, Have you noticed that the right side HSI's glide slope is reversed on the Tutor?

AFX updates from VoxATC
No one replied to this so I'll add my experience with it. I've edited AFCADs, in particular to change the default runways that are used when winds are calm. Example: VoxATC used to use runway 09 instead of 27 at San Diego / Lindberg. After editing the AFCAD and reindexing, VoxATC successfully picked up the change. As for the ARTCC controller frequencies and zones, I'm not sure where those are stored, but airport frequencies should be able to be updated as well. That's just my experience with it so YMMV.

Video Display Issue - Frame Rates
A quick question, does everyone here try the 'load a light aircraft before loading a heavy one' thing? I always thought it was BS until I followed the doc advise in the F1-B200 always loading an 'easy on the computer' default mission. It's supposed to save your memory (which I haven't specifically tracked) but does 'appear' to give me a better experience loading an aircraft in and changing scenery that otherwise.

odd fps issues
That busy 3rd party airport thing is definitely odd. I haven't run into that, but I'm still fiddling with settings (the constant squeeze for speed without losing beauty battle with FSX). On the outside view thing, depending on your FSX settings for the plane, you may actually end up rendering more. IIRC, some of my outside views, I can actually see some pretty major details on the glass cockpits, though I'd agree also that the frames are typically better from the outside, again depending on your graphic settings. Heavy cloud distance, tons of autogen, HD livery, could definitely cause more rendering than other elements in the cockpit. Lol... As much of a joke as it is, it never seems to amaze me how often that IT pun helps to fix a problem in Windows especially with FSX (far more rare on Macs and Linux but no FSX ).

Flight plan activate!
You really should check out the docs that Carenado included with the G1000, but I'm not one to say RTFM, at least not at the moment. I'm doing this from memory and not on the sim atm, so it'll get you close if not exact. Click the FPL button on the keypad (opens the FPL window). Then click the center of the knob on the top left of keypad (composed of 2 knobs inner / outer, center is a button) which should give you a cursor. Roll the inner cursor to the right a notch. That'll open up another window on the MFD that you can enter a waypoint into. Enter the waypoint using keypad (you may have to roll the inner knob one more time to change the cursor from word to letter). After you type in your waypoint, hit enter (could be twice). Back at the flight plan screen, use the outer knob to go to the next space, then rinse and repeat. To navigate via GPS, click the CDI button of the PFD (left display - bottom soft key) which will cycle between VOR1, VOR2, and GPS. Good luck. If not a manual reader, I'd guess you're a fiddler. That should be enough info to make you dangerous. Hope it helps.

odd fps issues
I've had mixed success on FSX (so I don't know anything P3D related), but I will say that the frame drops that I get seem to be logical. IE. Complex airport, lower FPS, rollout and climb, better but not the best, at altitude cruising, best FPS, then the reverse when I'm landing. When not at a complex airport, FPS seems to be pretty decent. All of the above is still playable. Only one time in about 5 hours did frames drop below what I'd consider pushing through. I know this doesn't really help with what you directly asked, but when it drops into the 20s at altitude, do you have new weather or anything coming in that might spike your proc?

Can You Enter A Route?
Aivlasoft EFB running on a 2nd computer or via remote desktop from the second computer to an iPad works very well. Keeps me from complaining (usually), though I'm always disappointed when G1000's don't model features to a great degree. I'm enjoying the Phenom even though I manage the flight plan separately.

Takeoff Config Button
It runs the T/O Config utility, apparently, anytime you start advancing the throttles and get close to T/O power. You get an audible warning, however it doesn't tell you what's not configured. ie. Flaps usually in my case.
